Snorkels

Water crossings that would stop most trucks are a non-event for a rig with the air intake relocated above the roofline — and that is the single thing Snorkels accomplish at a mechanical level. The secondary benefit is pulling cleaner, cooler air from outside the engine bay on dusty trails where underhood air quality is considerably worse than ambient.

Snorkel fitment is vehicle-specific — a ram-head snorkel with a pre-cleaner on the intake end reduces the dust load reaching the air filter on extended overland runs through dry terrain. Install requires routing the intake through or around the A-pillar, which is a permanent modification to the body and not one to rush without confirming the fitment is correct for the specific make, model, and year before cutting anything.

Snorkels move the intake to where the air is cleaner and the water can be ignored. The full engine performance parts category across platforms is at 4x4 Engine Performance Parts, clutch kit options are at Clutch Kits & Clutch Accessories, and cold air intake options are at Cold Air Intakes & Air Filters.
