Features & Details

  • Snorkel
  • Maximum Dust and Water Sealing
  • Ensures Air Supply in Excess to Your Engine Requirements
  • Relocates Air Intake
  • Constant Source of Cool, Clean, Dry Air
  • Works in 2007 - 2011 JK Wranglers.
Intake. This 4x4 Snorkel from RedRock moves your Jeep's air intake from the low and vulnerable position under the hood to a higher, safer location. There it gets a constant source of clean, cool, dry air – which allows your jeep to wade through deeper waters.

Additional Features. Every component in this part is specifically designed for maximum dust and water sealing, which significantly decreases the risk of engine damage during water crossings. The high flow air ducting and body keeps air supply higher than your engine requires, which helps your engine breathe more easily and improves its performance.

Application. This RedRock 4x4 Snorkel is designed to work on the 2007 - 2011 JK Wranglers.

Is there an intake smooth tube to replace the factory accordion style that currently goes from the air box to the throttle body? That's where a big part of the airflow problem is.

MatthewH

  • At this time we do not carry a replacement tube from between the RedRock 4x4 Snorkel and throttle body.

Are there any plans to release an affordable (below $200) snorkel such as this one for the 3.6 engine?

Cory1139

  • At this time we have not heard of a snorkel in the works from RedRock 4x4, however if the demand is there, we are sure RedRock will have something in the works.

I have a 2015 Wrangler, and I was wondering if this snorkel could fit?

JesseO

  • The RedRock 4x4 Snorkel for the 07-11 Wrangler JK would not fit a 2015 Wrangler.

Will this work with the barricade rack on a 2 door

CyCole

  • Thank you for your question! Both the snorkel and the roof rack use the same placement, and they are not compatible with each other.

    Red Rock Wrangler Snorkel

Actually took about 2 hours to install. For those who do not have shop-air, best bet is an electric jig-saw with a good, fine metal blade. The cut off wheel is not deep enough to cut both the inner and outer skin of the hood. Removing the OEM air scoop was easy, as well as the rest of the installation, which was straight forward. The trim provided was adequate, but should have come with a bulb type seal to better snug up the hood around the snorkel. The instructions called for 1 size drill bit, but the rivets provided were one size over, not a big deal, but does mess with the edge distance on the pre-drilled trim piece. My only issue was pre-existing, as I have a light bar on my 08 Rubicon that occupies the same area as the upper attach points for the snorkel. Fixed this with a 2.25 u-channel spacer and some grade 5 hardware from Lowes. After running it for one tank, noticed zero MPG improvement, don't buy it for that. Drove in heavy rain and snow, no fear of water ingestion or snorkel inlet clogging up with snow/ice. Looks fine, functions fine, hope I never again have to get that deep that I'll need it.

I looked at severral diffetrent types and brands. I bought rudge ridge(the first time) and the instructions had approx 108 steps. As a dot licensed mechanic i did not like the fact of going down in the engine bay. SO THE BEST choice is to go outside and up. This took three hours max,but i have air tools and grinders.this unit does not block my views of the woods or the road. A+

    red rock snorkel

Good snorkel for the price although they aren't very strong. I have broken two of these on a few trees, and I didn't try to hard. Im going to order a third one and rhino line it so hopefully it won't get damaged as easily. Also This snorkel doesn't fit as well as it could with bushwhacker fender flares. All I did was drill new holes in the brackets and it fits just as good. It is a good snorkel though.

    Best bang for the buck

I've searched many different snorkels from different websites and companies. Minus the cutting in the hood which I couldn't do because I didn't have any access to my shop tools everything was easy to do.

    Great Product

This was very easy to install, very reasonably priced, added 3 more miles to my gas. I had a slight increase in power and keeps engine running with cold air injection. I would definitely recommend this snorkel to anybody looking for a sweet upgrade that makes a difference in your overall performance.

    Excellent product for the price.

This product definetly lived up to my expectaions. It was fairly easy to install and only took about 2.5 hours or so taking my time. I felt a little bit of gainin performance also. The product looks very nice and seems to be holding up well to the weather. I would recommend this product based on my experience.

    red rock snorkel

Bought it to replace a vandalized snorkel fit just like the 1 I had previously no noticiable power gain since I already had 1 installed it's a great product for the price. However it's a bit stiff to install in the cold weather as the plastic isn't as flexible but it's still easy enough to get done in your driveway.

This Kit is nice and is a reasonable price. -I did have to drill holes bigger than 1/8 for the rivets. The instructions were wrong or they sent bigger rivots. -I went by the template being 23mm from hood latch this was incorrect for my hood. It was off by a 1/4 inch and I had to modify the cut some more. -The rest of the kit met my expectations.
