Intake. This 4x4 Snorkel from RedRock moves your Jeep's air intake from the low and vulnerable position under the hood to a higher, safer location. There it gets a constant source of clean, cool, dry air – which allows your jeep to wade through deeper waters.
Additional Features. Every component in this part is specifically designed for maximum dust and water sealing, which significantly decreases the risk of engine damage during water crossings. The high flow air ducting and body keeps air supply higher than your engine requires, which helps your engine breathe more easily and improves its performance.
Application. This RedRock 4x4 Snorkel is designed to work on the 2007 - 2011 JK Wranglers.

A mixed bag
On the one hand, it's a plain plastic tube and performs just as well as any of the other plain plastic tubes which cost obscene amounts of money to do the exact same job. That being said, there is an important limitation to this plain plastic tube that should be mentioned. If you have a roof rack of the Smittybilt, Rugged Ridge, or Trail FX variety, you cannot use this snorkel, at least not "as is." This was an "open box" model that was a fraction of the original cost, so we figured it was worth a gamble to use a heat gun to try and reshape it to fit alongside our roof rack. We're still making our game plan for that. If it works, we'll look like champs. If it doesn't, oh well. We're only out a couple of bucks.Helpful (0)

received snorkel today and imediatly went out and installed it. fairly straight forward install. I did have to use longer fender bolts as the originals would not start because of the gap, used some leftover from a ranger pick up. once they were tightened down everything came into alignment with not to much problem. Very tight fit and had to do some coxing to get it in. If you have some mechanical abilities and are used to thinking outside of the box then you should have no problems with the install. used stainless screws instead of the pop rivets and I believe they look much better than rivets. I don't like the look of the snorkel tip and when the pre-filter I ordered comes in tomorrow i will be changing it off. I am pretty sure it will fit as I have seen pictures on the site showing this mod. Will post a review tomorrow when I no the specifics. looks fantastic and I can feel a slight increase in power off the light.Helpful (0)

Install was annoying
Snorkel must have warped since manufacturing. I had to manhandle it to match up with the A-piller mount. Instructions were very general. Good for 150 I guess.Helpful (3)

2011 Rubicon install
First off I was disappointed in the way my snorkel arrived. The box was ripped open and looked like it had fallen off the truck a few times. Fortunately there was no damage and all parts were accounted for. For the install it wasn’t overly difficult, the directions were ok. Something to note is they refer to torx bolts to attach the brackets but provide philips head bolts. The provided rivits are bigger than what is described in the instructions. Once I got everything ready I had to fight with the air box to get it to sit properly then kinda had to force the snorkel back against the body to get it mounted. Lastly it would have been nice if some foam was included to fill in the gap where the snorkel passes through the hood.Helpful (3)

Came really fast after ordered only problem is the measurements were off and rivets are definitely not 1/8” other than that I love the way it looks and I added the pre filter in place of the head it came with I feel way more comfortable with the pre filter haven’t had a chance to test it out yet so hopefully all goes well with itHelpful (3)

Overall not too bad.
Like a few others have mentioned, the fitment of the pegs on the bottom of the airbox made it quite tricky to get into place once the snorkel was attached. Managed to get it in place with a little work though. The template was about 1/8-1/4" short, so I had to cut a little more on the one side. Other than those 2 issues the install went smooth and it looks great! For the price difference it's a good value. Many of the trails I go on are very dusty, so I upgraded to a pre-cleaner to help keep my filters cleaner for longer.Helpful (3)

I have a 2008 JK with a Gobi Rack.... Will this snorkel mount properly, along the windshield frame with the rack? Thanks
The RedRock 4x4 Snorkel will clear the Gobi Stealth and Ranger racks.
Will this snorkel work with RedRock cold air intake kit # J100284?
No, this snorkel requires use of a closed air box, like your stock one to allow the snorkel to function properly. The RedRock 4x4 Cold Air Intake Kit - Black Wrinkle Coating (07-11 3.8L Wrangler JK) is an open air box Cold Air intake, so it will not work.
Will this work in combination with the RIPP cold air intake?
The RedRock 4x4 Snorkel (07-11 Wrangler JK) should be able to be installed with the proper adapter provided by RIPP. However, adding a snorkel to this set up may cause a loss of power as it will restrict the air flow.
Is there any prefilters that will work with this kit so i dont have to worry about driving in heavy rain/snow? If so which ones please
Unfortunately, this kit does not come with or have any prefilters that are meant for this.
will I have to reseal my airbox when changing air filter ? Or will the clamp seal be water tight and be able to open the box to change air filters
This will reseal after you change your air filter, to keep your air box water tight.
This snorkel requires use of a factory intake air box for use.
The RedRock 4x4 Snorkel will not be compatible with the 2012-18 JK.
The AEV Pre-Filter will not work with this kit.
The Rugged Ridge XHD Snorkel Pre-filter would not be compatible with the RedRock 4x4 Snorkel.
Unfortunately, this part will not be able to have proper fitment when also installing the KMS Congo Cage.
Yes, this will include everything required to install the snorkel.
The snorkel and the Barricade Roof Rack will not work together as they both use the same mounting points on the passenger side of the windshield frame.
The front placement of the Smittybilt SRC roof rack will interfere with the installation of the snorkel.
This snorkel will not be able to pair with that roof rack.
This RedRock 4x4 Snorkel will not work with the 12-18 JKs as they will have a different motor then the 07-11 JK models.
