Suspension bushings are small rubber parts that help protect more expensive and important parts from wear and tear by absorbing the shock that is produced by bumpy, unpaved terrain. They also absorb some of the shock on the rolling chassis and prevent it from entering the cabin of your Jeep TJ. Because they receive a daily pounding, these parts are not long for this world. The good news is that Jeep TJ suspensions and bushings are inexpensive and can be purchased for only a few dollars each. When to replace them? If you hear mysterious clunks and creaks or other excessive road noise, it may mean that your bushings are going bad.
