I have aftermarket lower control arms but they're fixed at an angle could i use them on this kit? or would I need to get adjustable control amrs?

    JamesT

    • Depending on how much your angles are off after installing the Rough Country 3.25 in. Lift Kit w/ Shocks you may not need adjustable control arms. We would suggest checking your caster and pinion angles after install. Every Jeep reacts differently to being lifted so you may not need adjustable control arms!

I have a 2003 TJ with 6cyl and 5spd. Do I need to extent break lines, or any other modifications not included in this kit?

    RyanO

    • When installing the Rough Country 3.25 in. Lift Kit new brake lines are not needed, however for off roading with extreme suspension articulation, it is recommended to utilize relocation brackets or extended lines. With the Rough Country 3.25 in. Suspension Lift Kit we would suggest installing a slip yoke eliminator (instead of the transfer case drop), new rear driveshaft, adjustable control arms and adjustable track bars front and rear. With an adjustable front track bar, you would not need a drop pitman arm. But it is not required with Rough Country for this lift.

Good price. Great ride. Would recommend replacing track bar instead of reloacating hole.

      Well worth the money!

After months of looking at specifications of lift kits on various websites and pictures of Jeeps after install, I chose this kit and am very happy with the results. I have a 2004 Wrangler "X" and it's like it has a whole new look. I still have to get used to the new feel and handling (just got the kit installed) but so far so good. It does feel very different but not in a bad way. One negative overall was with the packaging. The box arrived all taped up and had been literally torn in half. I would recommend to Rough Terrain that they look into more sturdy boxes.

      3.25" Nitro 2.0 lift

I'm completely satisfied with the kit!! The appearance is amazing! I was so excited the ride quality was not compromised either. I would have liked the instructions to be a bit clearer but being my first lift they still did the job. I recommend watching a YouTube video prior to reading the instructions. Save yourself some time and get the adjustable track bar and don't even bother drilling the relocation hole for the stock one. New steering stabilizer shock too is recommended by me.

Install went a little longer than projected, but overall worth the time and effort. Local shop wanted 1K to do the install. Very happy with the results.

      3.25 inch lift

It's very smooth off road. However the back shocks absorbers seem to be a little soft. They may not be the correct links either it seems to bottom out on them with very little weight in the back of the vehicle. Other than that I'm very happy with a lift.

3.25 lift kit. Really like it.

Recently bought the 3.25 lift kit with shocks. I install it my self and I love it. It took me 12 hours this weekend. It was a challenge because is the firsf time I install this. But I'm pleased with it's performance.

      TJ 3.25 RC Lift

Great bang for your Buck! The instructions recommended drilling a hole in the track bar bracket, I didn't do this because in my opinion if you drill a whole 1/4 inch from the other hole it will weaken over time. I bought a RC adjustable track bar with this lift and it works well, couldn't be more happier with the ride and look it gives my TJ!

      Great lift kit

Great lift kit on a budget! If you're not going to do extreme off-roading this is the One for you. The on road mannerism of this lift kit is much better than the stock equipment

Nice cheap lift, proper stance for 33's

Looks great with 33's, the truck is very proportional and proper now. My jeep is the black on black one in the pics if you want to check it out, I don't know why Extreme Terrain doesn't allow you to attach a photo with the review. I had a shop install the lift and I have zero issues, rides better then stock - but have yet to go off-roading as I just put it on. As other reviewers have mentioned you really need the transfer case drop bracket and an adjustable front track bar, not too much extra money to do things the right way. If Rough Country included those items as well as sway disconnects instead of the sways included it would be a home run, even if it cost $200 more or so. I will update my review if anything goes wrong, but for now so far so good!

      Good kit

Good kit I had to replaced my track bar and got rid of my death wobble that appeared after installation. The track bar had a bad bushing on the axel side which I had checked it before starting. I had to wait two mor days to get it shipped to me. Kit was very easy to install and works great and the direction were very clear to me.

Not the Deal it seems to be...

First off, Extreme Terrain did an excellent job getting this out to me and then providing after sales support. So the review isn't a review on them or their service. It is a review on this kit and on how the Extremeterrain.com should add more info. The kit appeared to be complete and well constructed. It shipped quickly and i was not displeased with the service. However, after this kit was installed, the "incomplete" nature of this kit manifested itself. Do not be fooled by the marketing lines that this is a "complete" kit. First off, neither the description of the kit nor the Extreme Terrain website mention that in order to successfully drop the transfer case (manual trans), you need one of these: http://www.extremeterrain.com/rugged-ridge-drop-bracket-yj-tj-1830505.html Without this bracket your transfer case drop is crooked and at an angle. On top of all this, the castor is so out of wack that the jeep does not ride correctly. I ended up having to get this: http://www.extremeterrain.com/currie-control-arm-set-tj-ce-9100.html to get the alignment issues corrected. Also, now that the lift is on and complete, I am finding that the lift is putting a tremendous amount of stress on the front track bar (had to re-drill to remount it), so that will need be replaced next. Am I unhappy with the kit? Not at all. The TJ looks great now. And not running on the original (185k mile) suspension is great. However, if I had know I would have spent this much time and effort to get it done "right", I would have gone with one of the more "complete" kits. Be aware, you get what you pay for.

Rough Country 3.25 lift done by jeep dummy

first the price was right, second it was at my house in just days. looks like quality parts, so I myself who has never done anything like this before, and never had a jeep or 4x4 decided to go for it. well I did it. I am not a mechanic never went to automotive classes but put it on. never the less. Saved myself $300---500 having someone else do it. So i was worried about doing it myself and put it off for a while, now looking at end product wow, another good thing you can almost see all your new parts for inspections. Well Rough Country since we are best friends now what is our next project, looking foreward to see whats next jeep looks awsome even with the stock wheels (will get them later) thanks for the confidence builder jeepstan

I am very pleased with this product, its hard to believe but my Jeep actually rides better with the lift kit than it did stock, the shocks that come with the kit are very nice. Not to mention it looks much better too.

Great lift at an affordable price

So this is really a combo lift of sorts. A 2.5in suspension lift combined with a .75 in leveling kit. Everything was straight forward. The instructions need to be edited. A couple of errors and photos are not good. I did need to call RC for clarification once and they answered my question quickly and clearly, it was a Sunday. When all was done lift and new 33's looked great! If you are even a little bit mechanical, you can do this. Don't wait! I dragged my feet for a year and wished I'd done it sooner.

Good looking lift for a good price

3.25 inch rough country lift looks great on my jeep with 31 inch tires, everything was there and the directions were pretty staight forward. It took me and a couple of people a little longer than expected, but it was my first lift. Good quality and look.

      1st lift

The directions were vague in some steps and had to reach out to support for clarification. I highly recommend an alignment after completed install just to be safe. I bought a 3.25 lift and I am very pleased with the look and quality of the product!
