Does this kit also require driveshafts, this question has basically been asked twice already with two different answers.

        • The Rough Country 4 in. Lift Kit will not require a driveshaft replacement, however it is highly recommended as at 4" of lift, the driveshaft boot will be very close, or rub which can lead to other issues. Aftermarket driveshafts are narrower and are capable of avoiding this.

With a Slip Yoke Eliminator and rear CV driveshaft could you leave the transfer case at the original height and not install the drop brackets?

            Best budget lift kit

Looks great on jeep, went with 33's which I highly recommend. Took a bit longer than expected to install due to the rear shocks. Beware of those bolts they snap right off. Ride after install is not bad by anymeans, but definitely different (not unexpected). If you have the extra money I would go with the x-series rough country

Fairly easy to install by my self with a floor jack and jack stands, but you will need new track bars and a sye kit also as this is what I needed to get mine back right.

            Amazing and easy to install

Great product for an amazing price! The easy to follow instructions are great if you’re a first time d.i.y-er. (Also the YouTube video is helpful) even if you’re an experienced mechanic like myself. I look forward to purchasing more products for this ever evolving project!

            98’ TJ 4”

Jeep drives better than it did with stock suspension. Rough Country lift was easy to install. The ExtremeTerrain install video was a great aid. The only part I would improve is to add replacement hardware for every part. I had to source new bolts for just about everything because of the wear/ rust. Aside from that, it is a great lift and would recommend.

            Good kit

I bought this kit knowing that I would be swapping out the shocks, so when I was purchasing a good starter kit and this is it. Everything is included but the Drop Down pitman arm, you will have to purchase one. Other than that it’s an all around good kit

            1st Timer

This is my first ever lift kit install on a Jeep. I spent a few days comparing starter kits and pulled the trigger on this one. I couldn't be happier with the decision. The installation video was very helpful and everything went together as it should. The only issues I had were self induced (be sure to pay special attention to which sleeves you press into the sway-bar links) or due to rust (weld nuts on passenger side belly pan broke off inside the frame tube). I also purchased an adjustable front track-bar which I HIGHLY recommend. It eliminated the need to drill out the factory bracket and made realignment much easier (looks better as well).

            Value with quality

Parts installed with out any issues. Extreme Terrain has an amazingly detailed install video for this kid. Installed in 8 hrs w/ a floor jack and 2 jack stands. Air tools helped. Rides a bit rough. I would except it to soften over the years though. Do have a drive line noise when under power still trying to address. Its annoying. Perhaps pinion angle? Still need to get an alignment done. Quality parts w/ excellent welds.

            good budget lift

the skid plate drop is kind of useless because you would have an easier time just using the bolts and buying some nuts because it is near impossible to line up all the hole and get them to thread, all and all though its a nice lift it doesn't sag in the rear like some budget lifts do, it works well off road, my only complaint would really be how rough it is on the road, and before you say "all jeeps are rough" this ones a little rougher than usual.

It's a lot of work to do by yourself

All the components were packaged good for shipping . The new shocks and spring were super duty compared to the stock stuff. If doing on jack stands better have some ratchet straps handy to do some pulling here and there to line things up. Definitely a good stance when done.

            Happy with purchase

Haven’t had the lift for very long but there’s very little difference in the ride and performed well when wheeling. Also not too bad of a price for the amount of parts you get

Rough country 4 inch lift with shocks

NOT RECOMMENDED used very few parts from kit. Control arms have less flex than factory not to mention they shortened my wheelbase 2 inches. I tried to get longer shocks because the rear ones are 2 inches short with no cab on pretty much riding at fully extended when cab was put on. Tried to get shocks for a 6 inch lift instead and was told from rough country that the shocks are the same length as the 4 inch lift. Does not make any sense to me. Anyway long story short it would have been cheaper to buy a kit that has adjustable upper and lower control arms with it.
