Does this kit also require driveshafts, this question has basically been asked twice already with two different answers.

    • The Rough Country 4 in. Lift Kit will not require a driveshaft replacement, however it is highly recommended as at 4" of lift, the driveshaft boot will be very close, or rub which can lead to other issues. Aftermarket driveshafts are narrower and are capable of avoiding this.

Will this product work with a Right Hand Drive 97 Jeep TJ?

    • No, this will only work with left hand drive Wranglers.

With a Slip Yoke Eliminator and rear CV driveshaft could you leave the transfer case at the original height and not install the drop brackets?

    • It would be recommend to use the transfer case drop kit as well, and it is included in this lift kit.

Would I need to buy other pieces like a drop pitman arm or longer brake lines?

    • Thank you for your question! Unfortunately not all lift kits are complete, with this kit it is highly suggest to add an adjustable front track bar, instead of a front track bar drop bracket and drop pitman arm. New longer brake lines are highly suggested as well. Additionally, lift kits that have 4 inches or more of lift, like the Rough Country 4 in. Lift Kit w/ Shocks (97-02 Wrangler TJ), usually require a Slip Yoke Eliminator kit and a new rear driveshaft.

      Happy with purchase

Haven’t had the lift for very long but there’s very little difference in the ride and performed well when wheeling. Also not too bad of a price for the amount of parts you get

Rough country 4 inch lift with shocks

NOT RECOMMENDED used very few parts from kit. Control arms have less flex than factory not to mention they shortened my wheelbase 2 inches. I tried to get longer shocks because the rear ones are 2 inches short with no cab on pretty much riding at fully extended when cab was put on. Tried to get shocks for a 6 inch lift instead and was told from rough country that the shocks are the same length as the 4 inch lift. Does not make any sense to me. Anyway long story short it would have been cheaper to buy a kit that has adjustable upper and lower control arms with it.

      4 inch lift

These lift kits are pretty simple to install and for the price you can’t beat them I would recommend installing a new steering stabilizer as to avoid death wobble

      4 inch lift Jeep TJ

I did this in my driveway so took longer than a shop would. It would have been easier to read the pictures if they were to have color or labels on parts in the picture. So far steering feels pretty loose and I will be looking to solve that soon. But other than that it gives my Jeep a great look and will allow me to have more fun on the trails also

      4 inch lift kit

This kit looks very complete and in apparences is very well thought out and designed. Great price point as well. I was very surprised as to how well it was pacaged. 1 box was open when delivered, but it was the spring box and looks like everything was still in there. Have not installed yet because im swapping drivetrains at the moment, will sound off again after its installed and on w/pictures..

      Not too bad!

Other than the missing instructions the bag of hardware missing and no shock boots it was very easy to install and seems so far well built.

      Great lift, great price!

This was my first Jeep build, I've owned Wranglers before but never transformed a stock to something of my own. I'm not a mechanic but capable of using wrenches and so on. The instructions with it was OK but I'm a visual person so YouTube helped a lot. Take your time, be safe,no need to rush through something like this. I'm still adding on other parts and accessories so have not driven it yet ( I'll let y'all know how that goes) over all very pleased, looks great!

Looks good but...not everything you need

I bought a Adjustable Trackbar ($129.35) and Pitman Drop Arm ($59.99) too. Due to upper rear shock bolts cracking off and transfer case bolt nuts spinning in the frame, I had to have the rear end portion of the kit professionally installed ($1500). The 4" added height looks amazing and feels a lot better than the stock height. However, the shaking caused by the rear driveshaft being on to steep of an angle is unbearable, and makes my Jeep practically un-drivable. Now I a SYE Kit ($399.99), CV Driveshaft ($649.99), paired with needing a Short Shifter ($249.37), because my Jeep wont go into 2, 4, R, has made me wish I had left my Jeep stock height. Everything all together to make my Jeep run normally with the 4" lift again is going to cost just under $3,000, not including this $530 kit. Just keep that in mind.

works but NOT a complete lift

this product is incomplete, i cannot install this lift on my 2000 jeep wrangler 5 spd until i buy an SYE unit, the four stars are based on quality.
