Great product for a great price

Obviously this lift kit is more for a beginner lift, but everything is very good quality at a great price. I’m 17 years old and installed it myself, no problems have arisen in the little over 6 months of having it. No squeaking or creaking, rides better than stock and gives you great clearance for 33 inch tires. I go off-roading often and nothing has ever broken on it and it has worked great on and off the trail.

4 2000 Wrangler - CodyT Installation Time: Afternoon

        A little lacking

You get what you pay for... it’s well constructed, and installs super easy, but after install there will be a lot more work to do to get in alignment. I had to upgrade my steering rack, get a drop pitman arm, and do a lot of adjustment. Granted, it is a 4” lift so this was expected. I would personally recommend spending more and getting a kit that includes everything you’ll need. All said and done to get my lift installed and installed well, it cost over 1000$ (doing the work myself) so keep that in mind while shopping!

        Best budget lift kit

Looks great on jeep, went with 33's which I highly recommend. Took a bit longer than expected to install due to the rear shocks. Beware of those bolts they snap right off. Ride after install is not bad by anymeans, but definitely different (not unexpected). If you have the extra money I would go with the x-series rough country

        Rough country 4in lift kit

Fairly easy to install by my self with a floor jack and jack stands, but you will need new track bars and a sye kit also as this is what I needed to get mine back right.

        Amazing and easy to install

Great product for an amazing price! The easy to follow instructions are great if you’re a first time d.i.y-er. (Also the YouTube video is helpful) even if you’re an experienced mechanic like myself. I look forward to purchasing more products for this ever evolving project!

        98’ TJ 4”

Jeep drives better than it did with stock suspension. Rough Country lift was easy to install. The ExtremeTerrain install video was a great aid. The only part I would improve is to add replacement hardware for every part. I had to source new bolts for just about everything because of the wear/ rust. Aside from that, it is a great lift and would recommend.

      5 Top Rated Questions

Does this kit also require driveshafts, this question has basically been asked twice already with two different answers.

      • The Rough Country 4 in. Lift Kit will not require a driveshaft replacement, however it is highly recommended as at 4" of lift, the driveshaft boot will be very close, or rub which can lead to other issues. Aftermarket driveshafts are narrower and are capable of avoiding this.

Would I need to buy other pieces like a drop pitman arm or longer brake lines?

      • Thank you for your question! Unfortunately not all lift kits are complete, with this kit it is highly suggest to add an adjustable front track bar, instead of a front track bar drop bracket and drop pitman arm. New longer brake lines are highly suggested as well. Additionally, lift kits that have 4 inches or more of lift, like the Rough Country 4 in. Lift Kit w/ Shocks (97-02 Wrangler TJ), usually require a Slip Yoke Eliminator kit and a new rear driveshaft.

do you have a 4" lift kit that will work for a Right Hand Drive 97 TJ.

      • No, we do not offer this kit for RHD models.
