Does this kit also require driveshafts, this question has basically been asked twice already with two different answers.

    JeremyG

    • The Rough Country 4 in. Lift Kit will not require a driveshaft replacement, however it is highly recommended as at 4" of lift, the driveshaft boot will be very close, or rub which can lead to other issues. Aftermarket driveshafts are narrower and are capable of avoiding this.

Would I need to buy other pieces like a drop pitman arm or longer brake lines?

    DaveM

    • Thank you for your question! Unfortunately not all lift kits are complete, with this kit it is highly suggest to add an adjustable front track bar, instead of a front track bar drop bracket and drop pitman arm. New longer brake lines are highly suggested as well. Additionally, lift kits that have 4 inches or more of lift, like the Rough Country 4 in. Lift Kit w/ Shocks (97-02 Wrangler TJ), usually require a Slip Yoke Eliminator kit and a new rear driveshaft.

Will this lift work with 35 IN. Tires if I pair it up with the rugged ridge fender flares?

    EvanO

    • Hello, The maximum tire size recommended for this Rough Country 4 in. Lift Kit w/ Shocks is going to be a 33" tire. Any larger and you may encounter rubbing issues. The rugged ridge hurricane flat fenders provide 1 extra inch of clearance, still only allowing for a 34" tire.

      Great kit for the cost!

Kit shipped fast, had it in 3 days. Installed it in about 11 hours with a buddie. Gave my jeep about 4 3/4 inches of lift, actually does ride as good or better than stock as Rough Country claims. It's much smoother and more stable on the road. Haven't had it off road yet but I'm confident it will perform. The control arms are awesome, big and beefy! Kit combined with a set of 33x12.5x15 Firestone Destination M/T's looks awesome! Thanks Rough Country for a great product at a great price point!

      Great lift for $$$

Had to fight with rusted bolts. Once everything was off the new lift kit was really easy to install. You can tell a big difference in the smoother ride and height. Recommend this kit with the Adjustable Track Bar.

      Pretty Awesome

The lift showed up and I couldn't wait to install it. Kit took about 9 hours to install but I'm not a super mechanic and don't have a lift or anything. After installing the kit I was very happy with the change in ride height and the overall esthetics of my tj. The ride was a little stiff but not anymore than what you'd expect from a lifted vehicle. The handling on the other hand was terrible after talking with some other jeepers was able to fix the issue with Rough Country's 2.5-6" drop pitman arm for around 70$ now it's perfect.

      More bang for your buck

The videos online show a simple day job installation. However, it took every part of a day and a half. Had to run to the store a couple times to get parts that made the lift a lot easier to install. Overall great product.

      4" Rough Country..Fantastic!!

This lift is great! It took about 5-6 hours to install and was very easy It actually gave me a better ride quality than the stock suspension which was a huge plus. I do recommend buying the drop pitman arm and the tie rod bracket relocator. Great lift for the money.

      Great Product

So far so good. Installed this lift in about a weekend with only a couple of hiccups. I would definitely recommend putting some rust busting agents on all of the bolts at least a couple of days prior and keep reapplying days before you start. Helped me out a lot. Used some straps to move the axles where I needed them as I was putting in bolts. Didn't use an adjustable track bar and had a hard time lining up the bolt but once I got it it was dead on like the instructions said. Instructions were easy to use. Didn't lower the transfer case at first and had horrible vibrations. After lowering the case, vibrations were gone. Also put in a drop pitman arm which I recommend!! Had the alignment guy put it in for me while he was doing the alignment. All in all a great lift. No vibration and no problems with stearing or drifting. Put 33's on the jeep and is running great. Love the lift for the price. Would recommend it highly.

Better Ride with the Rough Country 4 inch lift!

My Jeep rides better than stock! I have gotten more turned heads and complements in the 2 weeks that I've had this lift kit than I've had in the 3 years I've owned the Jeep! Great ride, looks so much better than stock!

Great product for a great price, but order the uppper adjustable arms!

Bought this from Ryan and Company and have had great experience. I installed this at a buddies shop last July, 2014, and have driven the Jeep from California to Colorado, have done some mild trails, and have put on about 2500 miles total. Took a bit to get it installed, since none of my bolts were cooperative, and also installed a set of JKS adjustable track bars with it. I did install a set of Rough Country adjustable uppers at the same time and it went together (except for the front upper removal) fairly easy. With the lift kit, including the uppers, track bars, brake and unit bearing services, took me 3 days total. I purchased this with the standard Rough Country shocks and am quite pleased. I just need to get out and do more wheeling.

      Great for the weekend warrior

This Kit has everything you need to get a solid 4 inch lift installed on your ride which is perfect for both a daily driver and some offroad fun. I used to have an 8 inch lift on my DD and used this to drop it back down to four. It rides like a dream and looks great with my small 31" all terrains. The worst part of instal was they control arms on my rig as well as shock bolts were all rusted and it didn't come with any new ones. A trip to family center and a few torched off bolts later and it was done.

      Great product

I absolutely love this lift!! My jeep looks amazing on and off-road. This product is a great deal and allows for great clearance but rides a little stiff. But overall good product. Took awhile to install mostly due to my jeeps rusty bolts.

      Great upgrade

I think it's an awesome upgrade....but holy cow Batman. I got a lot of vibration. Just wish the kit had come with a SYE. But other than that it's awesome. I recommend getting some PB Blast, it can be very useful.

      Great lift!

This lift looks and rides so much better than I imagined. It took approximately ) hours with a friend for installation. I used pb blaster for stock bolts on my 02 tj, and also used a coil spring compressor. You can rent these from an auto body store if you wish. The ride looks fantastic. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

      Not a bad lift

Over all the lift is great and was fun to put on. We had som dificulties but that was expected. The ride isn't as good as stock but it also isn't bad. Extended break lines will likely be needed though if you plan on doing off roading
