    Construction. This Jeep Wrangler skid plate is constructed of 1/4-inch powder-coated steel for durability. It also has E-coated finish to provide rust resistance.

    Will this work with a front receiver hitch (Draw-tite or Curt)?

    • It is unlikely that the Rugged Ridge Front Skid Plate will work with a front receiver hitch, it looks as if the hitch and skid plate would mount up in similar locations as well. We have not test fitted the Rugged Ridge Front Skid Plate with a front receiver hitch so we would be unable to confirm fitment between the two.

    • The Rugged Ridge Skid Plate Front is designed to fit with Rugged Ridge and stock front bumpers and has not been tested to fit with any other brand.

      Easy Fit

      While I did have to modify my frame just a little for the plate to fit up, I like this one a lot better than the others I've installed. I did not have to remove the bumper to install this and it works with 98 of the bumpers on the market. If you are looking for a front skid plate and you have an odd front bumper like me, I highly suggest this one.

      Bolt holes don’t line up

      I have it installed on my 17 sport JK but it was a little bit of a pain and two bolt holes don’t line up. Has 6 nuts and boots so missing two still allows for installation. Wouldn’t recommend

      Works Great With DV-8 FS-11 Front Bumper

      I have ‘10 Rubicon so I needed a sway bar skid plate to protect the ESD that would go with my DV-8 FS-11 bumper. Tried others but this is the only one that fit minor cutting and drilling. Just what I needed. Quality is solid as noted by other reviews. For me, couple of beers to install including cutting, painting and shooting the breeze with the neighbor. Posted some pics.

      Rock Solid however requires some finess

      As asked in the QandA, it does fit with a Draw-Tite/ Curt front hitch mount. My 2014 had the "extra" end caps welded on the factory frame that had to be ground down/off to allow the skid to fit properly without a gap in the factory frame. I also had to drill and widen the hole on the passenger side frame for the bottom bolt to fit. The brackets coming off the sway bar mount had to be pried to allow the skid bolts to fit. Once mounted and bolts tightened up it looks like a factory fit. The skid is solid and should take some serious abuse!!

      This front skid plate is a must have

      Installing this skid plate covered up a nasty previous collision bend caused by large boulders. After straightening the bend and installing this plate I have since bounced this plate over more objects and I would not Jeep without it. Installation would be easy for most.

      Easy install

      Skid plate was easy to install. It gives way more protection to the under-side front than the stock bumper and "dust cover" The finish is durable and looks good.

      Very good product!

      Fairly easy to install. Be sure to follow the instructions and attach the back bolts first, but leave them loose enough to be able to get the front bolts in too. Blends well with the bumper and is very sturdy.

      The skid plate was easy to install. Does a great job of protecting the sway bar disconnect. Also dresses up the front end. Went well with the Barricade HD bumper.

      Great Product

      This is a rugged skid plate that bolts on easily. I did have to drill one hole on the passenger side crash bar and do some trimming of the frame, where it is welded to the crash bar. This was minor and is covered in the directions. Make sure to follow the directions and tighten bolts in the order specified and you will be fine. I bought this to go with a Warn Elite full width front bumper and it fit perfectly. Took a couple hours to install, but I took my time and a couple of breaks.

      Make sure you have a sawzall, a drill and some black paint for the later models (Post 2010) as you will have to trim some of the brackets to get this to fit. The details are provided in the installation instructions that are provide with the plate. It is the ONLY skid plate to work with the Barricade bumpers and is way better than not having any protection in a critical area of the Jeep. Construction is rock solid. Looks great as well. Very happy with this overall

      Installed quick you do need do some cutting. Less then 30 minutes install painted cause I had to some cutting I have a pant my jeep befor installing it.
