      Effective but confusing

This is my first Jeep (2018 JK Unlimited Sport). The plate itself looks and feels bulletproof. Not super heavy but very robust. We used a lift which made it easier to install. Instructions could use more explanation. The arms need to be marked left and right. Took off the factory cross member ("skid plate") and can not reinstall it. The rear of the plate does not mount flush on the cross member. But was able to get holes aligned. We had to disconnect the front drive shaft at the diff to be able to get the driver side arm mount installed. We put it to good use on Jeep Jamboree/Palo Duro Canyon. Worked great.

      Did not work for me

Wouldn't work without having a higher lift than I had!

      It's Ok

My biggest complaint on this is the fact that you have to drill a hole in the skid plate to be able to bolt the stock transfer case skid plate back into place. That is a design flaw, because it is a heavy duty skid plate and to drill a hole is not an easy task even with the right drill bit and drill. Overall should do what I need to do.

      Skid Plate

We had to drill an extra hole in order for it to work. this should be displayed some where when you check it out to be mounted. When you are knew to all this it is hard when something does not work like it is suppose to be. Better explanation of install would make the purchase and build better

      Good Protection Hard Install

I did not find this to be an easy install, the bolt holes simply did not line up. I had to elongate three holes in order to get the skid plate to mount. Another problem that was not addressed in the instructions was what was to become of a skid plate cross member found on Rubicon's. After conversing with staff at Extreme Terrain, and watching a video on youtube I finally determined that the skid plate cross member found on Rubicon's was to be discarded. Overall when finished this skid plate should provide excellent protection to the engine oil pan and transmission.

      Solid skid, great price

This thing is solid! Great protection for the price. I only gave it 4 stars because the holes for the cross member didn't completely line up so I had to drill one hole. Not a huge deal, still great protection with easy access to oil drain plug.

      Heavy Duty

Everything fit perfect except the passenger side bolt hole for reinstall of transfer case bolt. Had to longate hole in new skid plate to fit. No big thing only took a minute. Otherwise excellent protection.

      Great product, confusing instruction

This thing feels very tough and I suspect will protect my transmission & oil-pan quite nicely. Install is a little awkward in the driveway, but manageable. Instructions are not very clear on which braces go on which side, but figured it out once under the Jeep.
