Does the powder coat finish on the barricade rocker guards and corners guards match the finish on the metal cloak fenders?

    • Both the Barricade and Metal Cloaks fenders are matte, but the Barricade rocker guards would have more of a textured looked compared to the Metal Cloak fenders.

      Great product!

Easy install, about 2 hours in 96 degree heat and that included reading the instructions on line. I shopped most web sites and this rock guard is price competitive. It provides me a step for reaching the roof rack and it gives my German Shepard an extra paw hold when jumping in. It is heavy, solid and looks great!

      Best Bang For Buck

I recently just purchased these and installed them. Install went smoothly. These are very well built and powder coated. They are very strong and under $200! There is no reason to spend $400 for rock sliders. 10/10 would buy again. 8/16/18

      Nice addition

I got the first one and it had one end completely snapped off by UPS. ET was quick to send a replacement. The video is woefully short on info for the install. A few suggestions on the install. Loosen the frame bolts on both sides before attempting to lift. Have two jacks. One to lift the Jeep tub and the other the assist to position the rocker guard. You will need some blocks to assist the reach on your jack because you need to reach to the tub of the jeep and not just the frame. After getting the rocker guard in between the tub and the frame mounts, I needed to persuade it in a bit with a small mallet. To get the rocker guard snug against the Jeep prior to drilling any holes, I used a second jack to under the rocker guard to bring it in place and hold it there. Clamps would not do the job. Drill the holes and bolt in place. Some of the holes you will need a 17mm box end as there is not room for a socket wrench and hole the bolt in place using your hex wrench (not torx) to tighten. Don't tighten your frame mounting bolts after your get one side done as you will need them loose to do the other. After I had the steps and fender mini flares in removed, it only took me about 45 min to do both sides. You can get ready to add the rocker guards alone but when ready to install best have two people. Having two floor jacks was key! Overall it is a great mod to my TJ, by increasing the ground clearance w/o adding lift. Looks great.

Review from Barricade Rocker Guard with Step (87-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ)

      Nice upgrade

Shipping was fast, packaging good. 1993 wrangler 4 inch lift and 3 inch body lift. Removed old tube step off chassis. Took about 1 1/2 hours with 3 guys. I had a little problem tighting middle bolt because of body lift. Had to loosen all 3 bolts on both sides and lift body with 4x4 and jack. Proved easier with 2 guys holding step while I was under tightening body bolts. This step make a jeep look like a jeep. A little harder to get in but love the look.

      Great value! Really good quality!

Great value and equal or better quality than many of the others I looked at. Pretty easy install...but best if you have another set of hands to help. The one issue I had was the very rear bolt on both sides that bolted through the tub were short for my 2006 TJ. The interior wall of the tub flared out a bit where the rear holes were drilled. I went to my local hardwars store and bought 1" longer replacements and they worked perfectly.

Looks great but step isn't functional

Absolutely love the way it looks, but I have a 2.5" lift and the step is as high as the interior floorboard. The step is almost in the way when you get out. Like I said, love the way it looks but isn't very functional.

      Install easier than expected.

Looks good with the barricade front and rear bumpers. Install was easier than expected. They are pretty heavy and sturdy, don’t imagine any problems withstanding abuse.

      Rocker guards and steps

They look great and and work exactly how I expected them to. I wasn’t aware that it drilled directly into the body of the Jeep. However, After watching the video one the website I realized how to complete the install. Great product and it looks great on my wrangler.

Review from Barricade Rocker Guard with Step (87-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ)

      Very Strong

On initial trial fit, I noticed the bend from the horizontal plate was not a perfect 90 degrees. The body and rock guard were not flush (~ 1/4 in. gap). The six bolts would force it flush but put stress. Don't know if it would be to much stress over time on the thin body panel? I tried bending the horizontal plate. COULDN'T. Decided to install as is...pretty easy. Added fender washers to dissipate stress over larger surface space.

      First time buyer

The video says slide between the body and mount but does not say you need to cut the back two rubber body mounts down about a half inch and also need to put washers between the body and body mount because they are recessed into the body. If you don't you bend the slots on guards when tighten them down. Other than that happy with them.

Heavy duty and mounts solid to the frame and body. Was a little difficult to slide in between the body mounts and tub without a lift.

Review from Barricade Rocker Guard with Step (87-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ)

      Good product, decent install, but..

Product is nice and heavy duty. It should be noted that it doesn’t work well with barricade rear fender flares. It appears that if you use the rear quarter armor everything might be on the same plane, but as that was not my intention, to use the rocker guard, it had to be cut in the rear to fit with the rear fender flares. Rear fender flare will overlap the rocker guard unevenly, so unless you’re OK with a big ugly gap, or using the barricade rear quarter guard as well, they don’t work well together at all. The product on its own is pretty decent and easy to install.
