I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com and this is my review of the ARB rear bumper fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This can be used on its own or with the ARB tire carrier and it matches the front ARB bumper really well if you're looking for a pair. This is for those of you who are looking for a top tier bumper. This is a incredibly well-built bumper that is also at the top of the price range. If you're looking for something that looks really good and has all of the benefits and features that you would want on a rear off road bumper, this is an option, assuming you have the budget for it. This is a steel bumper and like I said, it is incredibly well-built from the bends, to the welds, to the finish, everything is top quality. The finish on this bumper is a zinc coating covered with a textured black powder coat that has a synthetic wax embedded in it to make the finish self-cleaning. ARB really thought of everything with this. As far as features go, this has built-in high lift jack points, it has two recovery points and like I said before it has the option to mount the ARB tire carrier on it. But if you don't want to mount the tire carrier, it does come with a block off plate to cover up that hole. This will mount in much the same way as your factory bumper and a lot of other aftermarket bumpers right into the frame rails to give you plenty of strength to use this as a recovery point. And it has a cutout along the front here so that you can use it with your factory style receiver allowing you to still tow and have a third recovery point on the back of the jeep. One thing this bumper doesn't have is holes for backup lights. However, if you weren't going to use the high lift jack points, you could find a way to fabricate some light mounts and recess some lights into this bumper. One of the things that I'm not crazy about with this bumper is the big ARB logo that's right on the front of it. ARB actually recessed that logo right into the bumper so even if you remove the logo itself, you're going to have that little bit of a rectangle recessed in. I don't like the parts that I purchased to be a billboard for the brands that built them, so that's a little bit of a turnoff for me. But some people like stickers. They like repping the brands that they support so that may not be something that bothers you. Getting a new rear bumper installed on your JK is a really simple process. To remove your factory rear bumper, you'll have to remove the two bolts that attach it to the rear cross member and the four bolts, two on each side, that attach it to the frame rail. Once these bolts are removed, the factory plastic bumper can be removed very easily. It will just fall right off. To get your new bumper installed first, you'll install the block off plate if you're not installing the tire carrier or install the tire care if you are and then slide the brackets right into the frame rails. This bumper comes with it all of the hardware that you'll need to get it bolted onto the Jeep making the process really simple. This bumper is very heavy, especially when you compare it to the factory bumper, so it'll help to have an extra set of hands around or you can use an engine hoist or some tall jack stands if you don't have help at the time of the installation. The whole install shouldn't take you more than two hours and you won't need any specialty tools, just some traditional hand tools. Like I said before, and I think I've driven this point home by now, this is an incredibly high-quality bumper from the welds, the gussets, the obvious care that was taken in building it to the incredibly high quality of the finish all the way down to the way this thing is packaged, I've unboxed a lot of bumpers by now and this one was by far the best-packaged bumper, but you are going to pay for that. If you have the budget for it, this is a really nice bumper and I personally would be happy to run it on my JK. Unfortunately, a lot of us don't have the budget for a bumper that is this expensive especially when we're just talking about the price for the bumper. By the time you add a tire carrier, it really gets up there. So if you have the budget, it's an excellent bumper. If you don't, there are some bumpers out there that have the same features or even more features that aren't quite as well built or quite as well finished that will save you quite a bit of money. So if you're looking for one of the highest quality bumpers on the market, this is the place to look. From build quality, to finish, to ease of installation, this bumper really does have everything assuming you have the budget for it. So that's my review of the ARB rear bumper fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find it right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Superior Protection. The rear bumper is essential for protecting your Jeep's rear end both on and off road, that's why ARB has designed their rear bumper for superior functionality with off road recovery in mind. This heavy duty bumper comes fully equipped with dual jacking points, built in recovery points and works along side the factory tow package. Capable of handling up to 37 inch tires this bumper features an integral bumper recess and can be run with or without ARB's spare tire carrier (part number 5750320) for added strength where you need it.
Durable Construction. ARB's Rear Bumper is crafted from durable steel; The ideal choice for extreme strength and protection. To protect against corrosion and rust the bumper is zinc coated and finished in a ARB's Integrit textured black powder coat. This innovative finish provides intense protection from damages due to trail debris, abrasion, salt corrosion and is specially blended with a synthetic PTFE wax to assist in self cleaning and durability.

Excellent quality and super look. Installation was more challenging than expected. Extremely tight fitting on the JK frame and requires drilling of 2 new holes. Took about 4 hours to install including removal of the old bumper. Having an extra set of hands to fit the bumper in is a must as well.Helpful (8)

Excellent product once you get it installed
The stock bumper came right off with no issues. The stock tow hook had to be cut off because of rust. Then, I tried installing the ARB bumper. My right frame didn't have the lower mounts drilled out, so I'd have to install the bumper, mark the drill locations, remove the bumper, drill the frame, place the nut supports into the frame, and then replace the bumper. Still not too bad. I then tried to get the rear bumper on. No matter what I did or how hard I hit it, I couldn't get the bumper seated to mark the holes for drilling- it was consistently 2 inches away from being positioned correctly. And I didn't want to bang it around too much because I didn't want to screw up the finish. The instructions mention that it might fit tight, and show a guy gently hitting the tow mounts with a mallet covered with a t-shirt. In my case, I ended up having to pound it on with a sledgehammer and a 2x4 wrapped with a t-shirt (to protect the finish). Once installed, it looks great and is super solid. In fact, I'm not sure that I needed to use the bolts at all- I'm sure that it wouldn't have budged just based on the pressure fit alone. I selected this bumper to keep a relatively stock look while maintaining my factory hitch. Now that it's on, I'm very happy. It clears my 35" spare, doesn't budge at all, and is much stronger than the stock plastic bumper.Helpful (10)

This is a great looking bumper with some great features with the high lift jack points built in and easy to use tow points. It was easy to install and fit nicely with out too much work. Only real issue were the instructions were a little hard to follow on getting parts of it installed. Other then that a great bumper. As and amended note, this bumper is tough, deflected most damage in a rear end collision to my jeep only ending up slightly bent. in and up on one side.Helpful (8)

ARB Rear Bumper
Very solid bumper that was easy to install. Looks great and nice fit. Works perfect with factory receiver hitch. That is what sold me but quality is outstanding. Worth the extra cost for a bumper that will do its job!Helpful (8)

Is the weight of the bumper alone 127lbs, or is that the weight of the bumper and tire carrier combined?
The weight of the ARB Rear Bumper alone is 72 lbs. With theARB Tire Carrier (https://www.extremeterrain.com/arb-tire-carrier-jk5750320.html) installed, it will be 127 lbs.
Are the hole cutouts for rear flush mount lights?
The cutouts in the ARB Rear Bumper are high lift jack points.
Will this ARB Rear Bumper work with a Kargo Master Congo Cage (rear frame connectors). Thank you.
We have not attempted to install the ARB Rear Bumper with a Kargo Master Congo Cage but believe these would interfere with one another.
Does this rear bumper work with the Rugged Ridge Sherpa roof rack? Specifically the concern is around the interaction between the bracket used to mount the Sherpa roof rack and the bumper. Thanks.
The ARB Rear Bumper will work with the Rugged Ridge Sherpa roof rack.
How do you add the tire carrier if you buy it later on???
The ARB Tire Carrier (item J101453) will install directly to this ARB Rear Bumper. If you look at the bumper there is a cutout for the installation of the carrier, and the carrier will of course come with installation instructions.
The ARB Rear Bumper weighs 127 Lbs
Thank you for your question! We'd be happy to assist you in picking out the perfect bumper for your Wrangler! We do need a little more information though as to what you are looking for out of a bumper. Please contact us directly: https://www.extremeterrain.com/contact.html so that we can help you pick out a bumper that is best for your needs and wallet!
The rear brackets for the rack actually attach to the pinch seam on the body of your Jeep so no modifications would be needed to your bumper or your Jeep!
Unfortunately due to the wrap around on the ARB Rear Bumper (07-17 Wrangler JK), it would not allow proper clearance for your Barricade Roof Rack to mount to the frame. Running the two together would require drilling into the quarter panel.
