      Video Review & Installation

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Synergy High Steer Drag Link, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs.This drag link is for any of you who are running larger tires and want to make sure that your drag link isn't going to flex under that additional stress or those of you who have damaged or bent your drag link off-road. This is going to be a really well-priced and high-strength replacement that can be run in the factory drag link configuration or as a flip drag link with some additional components. The benefit to running a flip drag link configuration is that you have flatter steering component angles which can lead to better handling on the road, especially when you have high lift. Unfortunately, you do have to run some additional bump stop, and the additional components can add some cost. This drag link is built from 1 3/8 1/4" wall thickness DOM tubing, which again, means it's going to be really strong and not flex, no matter what size wheel and tire combination you're running. It comes with two tie rod ends that are both greaseable, and all the hardware that you need to get this installed in the Jeep. One of my favorite parts about this setup is that it's double adjustable, which means that you can install it in the Jeep and re-center your steering wheel without the need to remove one of the tie rod ends.Getting this installed on your Jeep is really easy, especially if you're running it in the factory drag link configuration. The first step is to remove the factory drag link by first removing the cotter pins, then the castle nuts, and then removing the tie rod ends from both the Pitman arm and the steering knuckle. Now, the tie rod ends are a press fit, so they can be a little bit stubborn, and the best way to remove them is to get a big, heavy hammer and to hit either the Pitman arm or the steering knuckle, not the tie rod that you're trying to remove. You want to hit the Pitman arm or the steering knuckle on the side perpendicular to the tie rod end. That should pop them right out. If you're still having some trouble, you can use a puller if you have one available.Once you have the factory drag link removed, you can install the new one with all the included hardware. Once you make the adjustments, which again is really easy because this is double adjustable, you'll use the hardware to clamp everything down, and you're done. The whole process should take about two hours, and you won't need any specialty tools, just some traditional hand tools, and a hammer.I think you get a lot of value for what you pay for this drag link. It's a really high-quality piece. It's really complete, and honestly, there isn't anything I would change, especially for the price tag. So if you're running big tires and you want to eliminate any weak points in your steering, or you've already bent or damaged your factory drag link, this is a really high-quality and well-priced replacement, especially if you're considering running a flip drag link down the line.So that's my review of the Synergy High Steer Drag Link, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs, that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.
