Would this kit also level the Jeep, eliminating the front rake?

    • Thank you for your question! This system was developed to provide a level stance to the Jeep after it is lifted. You will note that the front lift is 2.5” and the rear lift is 2”.

Are there any other recommended upgrades to accommodate this kit on a stock JK?

    • Depending on what year your JK Wrangler is, you may need an exhaust spacer. Kit J12153 required with this lift on 2012-2018 JK. Link to the item is below. https://www.extremeterrain.com/rugged-ridge-exhaust-kit-w-jk-1760676.html

Why an exhaust spacer is recomended with this kit? And does it comes with its harware bolts?

    • An exhaust spacer is suggested for 2.5 and up on 2012-18 models, unless you go with an aftermarket front driveshaft. When offroading with the stock driveshaft, the driveshaft can make contact with the exhaust and damage the driveshaft. The spacer helps prevent the stock driveshaft making contact with the y-pipe and damaging it.

With the 2 1/2 inch lift key in the stock shocks remain on the jeep it is a 2016 Rubicon

    • With a 2.5 inch lift, you will need either shock relocation brackets or spacers to reuse the stock shocks. Getting new shocks rated for the correct lift height would be the best option though.

      Awesome bang for the buck!!!

Product arrived quickly and the packaging was above and beyond what I was expecting. The instructions were good and the install went without a hitch. I will admit I used a spring compressor for the right front spring install. I used hand tools and floor jacks and it took just a smidge over 1.5 hours. Everything went on easy and seems to be working well together. For what I will be doing (daily driver with some basic off-roading) this kit saved me a bunch of money, retained my stock driving quality, got me exactly the lift I needed for bigger tires and leveled out my Jeep. I would highly recommend this kit.

      Outstanding kit!

Disclaimers: I used a lift. I am a mechanic by trade. My total install time with was under three hours. I inventoried the Kit before installing, noted that it came complete with a few extra nuts bolts or washers. The instructions were easy enough to follow. Note that the relocation of the right front brake line caused it to sit against the frame and I had to make a slight bend and install a piece of rubber hose/tube to protect the line. Rides like stock, Looks great and can't wait to "need " new(bigger) tires...

After this being installed for a few months now, we have had 0 issues. Nose still sits slightly down, but works great with 34 inch tires.

A great lift for a decent budget!

I purchased this lift for my Father’s Jeep for Christmas. We finally got around to installing this since the weather got nice and it was getting close to Summer. Let me first start off and say, the directions could use some updating. I had done research on this lift and knew this ahead of time but, ie: (wanting you to start the front first then the rear, when you need to put the stock rear sway bar links onto the front), other than that, they were pretty straight forward. We paired this with new Rough Country shocks for the front and rear, and it rides like a dream. And for the price you can’t beat the outcome. If you don’t plan on doing crazy extreme off roading, but want some clearance and a good look, this is the lift for you. We also installed 35” tires and new wheels as well.

Poor instructions, spend the money on a good lift

I installed the lift kit on a driveway with standard hand tools, impact wrench and jacks...with 3 people the lift took 7 hours to install. The instructions could use a whole lot of work, and the hardware isn’t even labeled but isn’t overly difficult to figure out. Spend the money on a teraflex lift or rubicon express. The hardest part was the rear coils removing and putting back in, front end went more smooth, but we had to go get some parts and hardware since some bolts were not fitting properly and we needed coil compressors.

      Great starting Kit

This is a great starting kit for Daily drivers. You pretty much keeping everything stock and so is the drive. the car looks much beefier and nice with the kit and 35's. I would recommend getting the exhaust spacers if you want to keep your drive shaft in a good shape. No rubbing with 35's.

      Good for the price

Every one has bad things to say about Rough COuntry but so far I have liked this lift kit. It was a hassle to put on, but worth doing it yourself if you don't want to spend $400 on labor for a kit that was only $200. As for the ride, I can feel the lift and the car drives the same for the most part. It is a bit rougher but it's not like I'm jumping out of my seat everytime I hit a bump. I would recommend this to anyone who is just going for the look and won't actually be taking their cars off roading (mountains, hills, etc.) I will say though that the instructions for installation SUCK!!! And they send you so many screws and bolts and nuts and don't even label which bag goes to which part of the installation.

      Nice starter

Missing a few parts, mainly sleeves but made it work. Looks nice but an upgrade is in the works. Great lift for a tight budget. Install wasnt bad, the included directions are not that good but you tube has videos. Took me and a buddy about four hours with a hoist. Exhaust extensions were a pain.

      Great look

The only issue I had was the front brake lines. They want me to stretch hard brake lines 1 1/2 more inches. This is a hard line and not stretchable. This extension was not installed and I might have to go to a brake guy. Any one else have this issue. Besides that, I like this product...it’s a great look. The install was more difficult than a “driveway install”. Luckily, I had a buddy with a well stocked garage (hydraulic press for spacers, air tools, metric and standard wrenches, multiple floor jacks and a lift).

      Cant beat the price!

Great overall lift for the price. It did exactly what I wanted and allowed for 35's without rubbing issues. Just need to remember to take off the front plastic skid plate. I would say that i'd add extended break lines for the front. I believe the front passenger break line was a paint and tight fit after being bent. I completed this installation in my garage on jacks. it took about 5 hrs. I'd say thats due to it was my first time. I would cut that in half i did it again. Drives like stock.

      Nice ride height!

Allowed me to put 33" tires on my jk and my 5'2" wife can still climb in and drive. Great if you're not looking to put huge tires on. Ride is the same as stock. 33" BF AT's changed ride a little bit. Directions say to start with front but you need to reuse parts from rear on the front. So I did it in reverse. Also front break line brackets did not match up with break line mount. Had to retap holes. Illustrations could be better in directions. Hard to see details in grayscale. Only using a floor jack and stands made the job take longer than 4 hrs. suggested. But overall very happy with product. May use Rough Country's 3" lift on my Ram 1500.

      Garbage

I ordered the lift when I bought my 4 door wrangler and I had it on for about a week before hitting a speed bump. The lower shock mount snapped off and was hanging below the axle. I took it straight to a 4x4 shop and they did an inspection, saying I installed everything to the T and it was a manufacturing error. The bold had sheared off and the shock mount relocation bracket snapped off the OEM mount. In addition to that, the sway bars that came with the kit were the wrong size so I had to order another kit from Extreme Terrain and of course pay for it. End of the day I’m sitting on a Teraflex full suspension kit with control arms and Bilsteins. I would NOT recommend this kit to anyone.
