Would this kit also level the Jeep, eliminating the front rake?

    IanM

    • Thank you for your question! This system was developed to provide a level stance to the Jeep after it is lifted. You will note that the front lift is 2.5” and the rear lift is 2”.

With the 2 1/2 inch lift key in the stock shocks remain on the jeep it is a 2016 Rubicon

    DaveM

    • With a 2.5 inch lift, you will need either shock relocation brackets or spacers to reuse the stock shocks. Getting new shocks rated for the correct lift height would be the best option though.

since I have a 2.5 suspension lift on my 2007 4 door jk would I need a steering stabilizer also if I was going to but the coil spacers on?

    DerekS

    • If you currently have a 2.5 inch lift and add the Rough Country 2.5 in. Series II Lift Kit w/o Shocks (07-17 Wrangler JK) on top of your existing lift, you will have roughly 5 inches of lift. You would need to add new control arms, a new longer drive shaft and a stabilizer can be replaced if the current one is worn out, if not you can continue to use your existing steering stabilizer.

Is a exhaust spacer required for my 2017 after installing this kit?

    JonW

    • Thank you for your question! Yes, an exhaust spacer is needed for all 2012+ models for a 2.5" lift or more so the exhaust does not interfere with the drive shaft.

Is this 2.5" lift front or back? I am assuming front with around 1.5" back to level, but please confirm.

will this kit work on a RHD Jeep wrangler 2012 model?

    MuizM

    • We have only ever tested the Rough Country 2.5 in. Series II Lift Kit on a LHD jeep, as we do not have access to RHD models. i would recommend contacting Rough Country directly, as they will have more detailed information on this.

      Installation problems

The newly designed rear track bar extension is poorly designed and the instructions were flat out wrong. Install took about an extra hour, trying to figure out the installation, contrary to the instructions. Otherwise, the product is excellent and install is straightforward.

      Nice easy installation! Great stance!

The lift is great if you are looking for a true 2.5" lift. I put 285/70r17 duratracs on it and xd775 on my wife's jeep and it looks mean! It has the stance that I was shooting for. Thanks RC. Didn't need the exhaust extension kit like stated.

      Function and appearance is Awesome!

I installed this kit in about 4 hours. It was pretty easy. The on road feel is a little more rough than stock with my good year dura tracs but with the stock tires I run in the winter it feels stock. But it's a jeep, you don't buy to take your grandma to church!!

Lift went in flawlessly. Everything actually fit how it was supposed to, no fighting with fitment. Great instructions. Took about 3hrs. If anything the Jeep rides better after installing.

      Looks great

Great lift at a great price. It took about 3 1/2hrs to install. Make sure to start with the rear as you use the rear sway bars to move to the front. Super satisfied with this lift. Put 33s on plenty of room to go to 35s

      Great Boost

Installed on my 2013 JK. The jeep looks great and the install was smooth. After looking at several posts and forums decided to go with this kit because of the metal extensions and because I didn't need new shocks yet. Combined this lift with 285/70 17 tires and it looks and rides great. If you want a little extra clearance without breaking the bank, this is for you. No major wheeling yet, just some old jeep roads, but no complaints so far.

      Makes the Jeep look good!

It three of us about 4 hours to install, partly because we also had installed a new bumper, winch and we also had to do the exhaust spacers. Everything went well except the rear sway bar bushings that fit in the lower rubbers did not fit well and required a bit of sanding/grinding/drilling to get the bolts through. It was easy enough, directions were easy to follow and it really looks good. I took it on some wild articulation sections off road and everything clears properly. I would recommend this to anyone.

      great kit

Best bang for your buck right here! Instructions were pretty good, I recommend installing the rear first because you have to use the rear sway bar links for the front. I paired this kit with the Bilstein 5100 shocks and it rides way better then stock. Get the spring retainer clips for the front springs too, the Bilsteins droop a lot but that's a good thing. Took me about 4 hours with air tools, and it was first lift kit I have done but working on cars for years.

Nice lift kit with everything you need

The lift kit was installed at the home garage in about 4 hours with very little problems. You will need a large floor jack to be able to lift the rear end high enough to easily be able to complete the job so have one handy. Having air tools really helped to speed up the process also. The instructions were a little hard to follow, just because you can't see the pictures that well but a quick youtube search came up with some great videos that will walk you through it. Looks great running duratrak 285/70r17's on the factory wheels with 1.5" spacers. All of the components on it look very well built and I personally liked the metal spacers. Gave a full 2.5" of lift on my 2015 JK Unlimited and only made the ride slightly stiffer, due to the springs being a little more compressed. It was noted that the exhaust spacer kit was required with this lift kit, however I cannot see why it was needed so I have yet to install it.

2.5" Rancho lift on my JK 4 door

A pretty straightforward installation. Took about 4 hours, including time to go pick up a spring compressor to ease the reinstallation of the springs. The Jeep looks good. Only question is that the front brake hardline relocator (lowering) straps couldn't be used as the hardlines don't flex as far as the straps would relocate them. Not even sure if these are needed for the front. All else seems to work well. Will find out how this kit articulates during an offroading weekend in June.

      2.5” lift install

The kit fit perfect. The instructions were not very good. I had a hard time figuring out which hardware to use as it switched from metric to standard throughout. The kicker was after you had the rear parts installed, they tell you to connect sway links, when in fact, the rear gets moved to the front and new links installed. My daughter was extremely happy when we were done. All in all it was a relatively easy install other than the directions.

      Rough Country 2.5 in

The lift kit wasn't to hard to install, I was able to do it with a friend and that was the first time I've ever worked on suspension for my jeep. The lift looks great and is perfect for fitting bigger wheels under, if you are looking to do a lot of off-roading I would go for a nicer lift kit with more upgraded parts. This lift is perfect if you are looking for a budget lift to allow you to fit bigger tires or just lift the jeep.
