Yes sir I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4dr with a rough country 3.5in series II lift kit on it. If i add this lift will I need to change anything out or will I be fine with the shocks, springs, brake lines relocation brackets, and stuff I got with my other lift?

    JamesK

    • Thank you for your question! I would not recommend to stack a spacer lift on top of a suspension lift.

If I install this kit onto a stock JK 2016 Sport with stock shocks and add one of your after market front bumpers will I need to go with heavy duty shocks?

    J

    • When installing the Rough Country 2.5 in. Lift Kit and an aftermarket steel bumper, we do recommend shocks to help keep ride quality and handling.

I purchased the RC 2.5" lift w/o shocks, do I need to purchase a front brake line relocation kit? If I install a 71 pound front bumper will I need to add springs or shocks?

    J

    • The Rough Country 2.5 in. Lift Kit w/o Shocks would not require front brake line relocation kit, it would also work well with a 71 pound front bumper. If you would like a better ride then the spring and shock replacement would be best.

So I have this kit installed with the stock shocks. I'm looking to add a heavy front bumper and upgrade my shocks. Should I get new stock sized shocks and replace as is, or get shocks for a 2.5" lift? If I get the shocks for a 2.5" lift do I leave in the shock spacers from this kit or take them out and only leave the spring spacers? Thanks!

    ShaunD

    • I would recommend getting the 2.5 inch shocks to allow more travel than your stock sized shocks. Especially since the heavier front bumper will cause the smaller shocks to sag a bit, if you do decide to go with longer shocks; you would not need the shock spacer brackets.

Rough Country Budget Boost 2.5 2009 JK

I am a novice Jeeper, I have waiting until my original tires were becoming worn to get this lift so that I may upgrade to 35in tires. Out of the box the instructions are easy to understand and proceed step by step. Though a little vague at points they were generally on point, you tube help a lot as well. Although it was not stated spring clamps were invaluable. I rented them from a local auto zone for 50 dollars down payment and they gave me the 50 back when I was done with them, they were a life saver! Also my front brake lines did not have enough play to use the relocation brackets that came with the kit but the rear ones worked like a charm. Every write up I checked said that the fronts were not needed unless during aggressive articulation the line became taunt so I used drive up wheel ramps to make sure I was good and no issues. I measured my tire clearance before and after installation and true to form I had 2.5 inch increase, I’m not going to say it was easy but with a good floor jack, jack stands, spring clamps and all tools listed in the directions you should have no issues and the ride is outstanding definitely worth the money and effort.

Great look, doable by the weekend mechanic.

Gives jeep the right look. Took about 4 hours total and fairly simple for the weekend mechanic. Requires metric sockets and a little muscle to get springs in/out. My advise have 2 jacks and 2 jack stands.

Easy installation, took about 2 hours. Instructions were easy to read. Rides is just like stock. I would recommend it you want just a little lift to put bigger tires.

Looks Great! Easy job with the right tools

Took me about 3 hours to complete in my friend's dad's auto shop. The front coil springs were the hardest to get back in, we used a tool to compress the springs before loading them back in. Overall pretty easy and straightforward. Just takes time and effort to get everything off and getting the coil springs in and out. However, the exhaust spacers are not required for this lift. You aren't altering the engine/exhaust's relation to the body, and if we had added the exhaust spacers it would've pushed the exhaust into the rear coil spring on the driver side. 10/10 would lift again. Now I just need the larger tires!

      Best bang for your buck

Wanted a small lift for my 2015 JKU Sahara but didn't want to spend a lot of money. After checking on forums, and asking around, I went with the Rough Country 2 1/2" spacer lift with out the shocks. Arrived very quick, well packaged and easy to install with clear directions. I put it on in my driveway by myself in just under 4 hours with the help of air tools. Love the new look, and kept the factory ride on the highway, which keeps the wife happy. I Would definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a nice lift without having to spend a lot of money.

Add great look for little cash!!

It took me a little longer to do than others wrote, i was in my driveway, but is doable there. About 6 hours for me. Leave the day in case you run into trouble. It looks awesome and have gotten great attention and nice comments in this first week. I am shopping for the 35's now to finish the transformation. Haven't taken off road yet but should been fine.

      2.5 inches in 4 hours

This mod is not for the beginner, but is worth the time and money to install it. This 2.5 inches gave me the look I was worker for. I got the full 2.5 inches because I measured before and after. All the parts where there, coil compressor came in handy from the local parts dealer.
