    Ask a Question

For my stock jeep, can I buy this kit and nothing else and have it installed in a shop? or do i need any additional parts like the recommended exhaust extension? Thanks.

    NicholasJ

I have 2013 4 dr and wife just wants a little bit of lift. I have 17 inch wheels and stock tires, is anything else required to install? It seems I saw that an exhaust spacer was required as well?

    TroyS

Do I need to buy the 2.5 inch sway bars? Most of the kits have you moving the rear sway bar to the front and you get new sway bars for the back.

    DanielC

    • When installing this Rough Country 2.5 in. Lift Kit, new sway bar end links would be required.

Yes sir I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4dr with a rough country 3.5in series II lift kit on it. If i add this lift will I need to change anything out or will I be fine with the shocks, springs, brake lines relocation brackets, and stuff I got with my other lift?

    JamesK

    • Thank you for your question! I would not recommend to stack a spacer lift on top of a suspension lift.

If I install this kit onto a stock JK 2016 Sport with stock shocks and add one of your after market front bumpers will I need to go with heavy duty shocks?

    J

    • When installing the Rough Country 2.5 in. Lift Kit and an aftermarket steel bumper, we do recommend shocks to help keep ride quality and handling.

I purchased the RC 2.5" lift w/o shocks, do I need to purchase a front brake line relocation kit? If I install a 71 pound front bumper will I need to add springs or shocks?

    J

    • The Rough Country 2.5 in. Lift Kit w/o Shocks would not require front brake line relocation kit, it would also work well with a 71 pound front bumper. If you would like a better ride then the spring and shock replacement would be best.

      2.5 lift

Love it. Gave it just enough of a beefy look. Mines a daily driver so I wanted it to look good but still get reasonable gas mileage. Very pleased!

      2.5 inch spacer lift

Really great lift. Good quality and moderately easy to install. I watched youtube videos first. The front brake line will need to be bent downward and abs line will need to be disconnected from the metal shock protector to allow the line to be moved down for the supplied adjustor. I also took a picture of the sway bars so I could reattach in the same exact position. I would definitely recommend having a friend help.

Great look, doable by the weekend mechanic.

Gives jeep the right look. Took about 4 hours total and fairly simple for the weekend mechanic. Requires metric sockets and a little muscle to get springs in/out. My advise have 2 jacks and 2 jack stands.

      Nice Lift for Cost

Ride quality is same as stock. Lift gives Jeep nice look for cost. Called local shop and wanted $600 to install same lift. I decided to use local mechanic shop due to time and they charged me $250 for the labor.

      Pretty straight forward

If doing it at home, it helps to have the Jeep completely suspended with axle hanging, then no problem.

      Great kit

Great kit to get things rolling. The kit was not too bad to install. I would definitely recommend the use of a strut spring compressor.

      Good kit for the price

I'll if you're looking for a cheap lift and don't plan on doing any hard wheeling this kit is perfect. I am going to upgrade the sway bar links bc they're definitely too short.

Add great look for little cash!!

It took me a little longer to do than others wrote, i was in my driveway, but is doable there. About 6 hours for me. Leave the day in case you run into trouble. It looks awesome and have gotten great attention and nice comments in this first week. I am shopping for the 35's now to finish the transformation. Haven't taken off road yet but should been fine.

      Lift

Easy installation, took about 2 hours. Instructions were easy to read. Rides is just like stock. I would recommend it you want just a little lift to put bigger tires.

Looks Great! Easy job with the right tools

Took me about 3 hours to complete in my friend's dad's auto shop. The front coil springs were the hardest to get back in, we used a tool to compress the springs before loading them back in. Overall pretty easy and straightforward. Just takes time and effort to get everything off and getting the coil springs in and out. However, the exhaust spacers are not required for this lift. You aren't altering the engine/exhaust's relation to the body, and if we had added the exhaust spacers it would've pushed the exhaust into the rear coil spring on the driver side. 10/10 would lift again. Now I just need the larger tires!
