Hey, guys. Today I'm here with the Bestop Targa-style bikini top in mesh, fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. So, everybody loves taking the T-tops off of their hardtop, as well as putting their soft top all the way back to enjoy that open-air driving experience. However, sometimes the sun can be pretty overbearing, and it can be harmful to your skin, as well as the interior of your Wrangler. This Targa-style bikini top will be for the JK owner looking for a very high quality sunshade, to allow some sunlight through, but to be protected by those harmful UV rays. This is gonna be made of a mesh material, obviously. So, like I said, this will allow some light through. However, unlike other vinyl options, this will not be a complete blackout shade. If you were looking for a complete blackout shade to allow no light through, Bestop does offer this same exact style system in a black diamond vinyl material. So, at the moment, this will be very reasonably priced for what it is, at around $75. So, compared to other mesh sunshades on the site, this will be one of the only options that seals up at the front, that's not attached by bungee cords, and it provides full coverage all the way around the roll bar. This will also be compatible with both the 2-door and the 4-door model, which some others aren't. And you'll be able to keep this on all the time with the very simple flip-back feature, which I'll show you guys in just a moment. Bestop is also known for their high quality products, which this can definitely attest to. And this will come with a limited lifetime warranty to keep a little bit of peace of mind in your investment. Install's gonna be a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You are gonna need a couple of hand tools and about a half hour's worth of your time, but it's nothing you can't get done in your driveway. So, speaking of the install, let's jump into that now. The tools that I used for this install were a 1/4-inch drive ratchet, a 1/4-inch drive small extension, a T25 Torx bit, and a 10 millimeter socket. So, after your T-tops are removed or your soft top is pushed all the way back, we're gonna start by installing this bracket in between the footman loop and the windshield. So, you will need a T25 Torx bit, and a ratchet to get your Torx bolts out and sandwich this in between. So, once that's out, we can reinstall this, with the button facing out. You can do the same thing on the other side. So, I did put a small extension on there to make my life a little bit easier, since you do have this trim piece, so it is a little bit tucked away. So, now we can attach one of our straps to our roll bar. We will have to remove the 10 millimeter bolt here, and sandwich this in between. So, now we can do the same thing with our buckle attachment, and attach it right to the center of the roll bar, right next to where we took out our hardtop tie down. So, I am using a 10 millimeter socket to remove that bolt. Then we can reinstall that. We can do the same thing on the other side. So, our next step is to peel back the adhesive on our foam strip, and attach it to the top of our roll bar right here. Just make sure it's not interfering here. Which it looks like we're in the clear. So, like I mentioned before, and as you can obviously tell, this will be made of a mesh material, so this will only allow partial sunlight through. And this is also gonna be UV-protected, so the fabric isn't gonna fade or get damaged in the sun. So, now we're ready to attach it to our Wrangler. So, I would recommend to start at the front, so we can attach our buttons to our brackets that we installed in our footman loops. Now we can attach our Velcro in the middle, to hold everything in place. Then we can move on to the last one on the opposite side. So, after we've attached the front to the windshield, we can move down the line, and start attaching our side straps. So, if you have a soft top and you have the door surrounds, you can hook this strap through the door surround, over top, and Velcro it on top of the bikini top. Now, if you have a hardtop like us and you don't have the door surrounds, we are gonna use these hooks that Bestop provided us. So, all you have to do is slip the hook through the Velcro strap, and then you can hook it into the roll bar. There will be a hole in the front of the roll bar, as well as the back, so you can hook that hoop into the bottom of the roll bar. That's where our door surround would go if we did have a soft top. Then you can put some tension on it, and strap that Velcro down. So, now, moving to the back one, as you can tell, we have our roll bar cover on here. What you can do, if you don't have the factory door surrounds and if you have a hardtop and you need to attach it to the roll bar, you can poke a hole in your fabric here to very securely attach it to the roll bar. However, if you don't want to poke a hole in your fabric, like we don't, you still can hook the hook onto the roll bar with the fabric in between. So, making sure that the hook is facing downward, you can loop that through. And then find the hole in the roll bar. And once it's secure, you can tighten it up and pull it through. So, while we're back here, we can also thread our strap through the back of the roll bar in between our hardtop, so we can attach it to our buckle that we attached earlier. So, it should come out the other side. And then you can straighten out the top. We can let that hang, and then we can move over to the other side. Before we move over to the other side, I did like to mention that these sewn-in straps and the buckles are gonna keep your top very secure. So, unlike other mesh tops that are attached with bungee cords around the side, this is gonna lay very flat, and keep it very tight, so there's no flapping around in the wind while you're driving without a top on. This is also gonna make it look a lot cleaner, personally, I think than just being attached around the sides with bungee cords. What I also would like to mention is that this completely surrounds the whole front area. So, a lot of other options that are attached with bungee cords, they don't cover up the side areas, and light still can come through. The harmful UV rays that aren't blocked by the mesh material can still come through, can damage you or your interior. So, around the sides, light still might come through that's not going to be blocked by the mesh, so those harmful UV rays still can damage you and your interior. So, now we can move over to the other side. So, like I said with the hook facing down, we can thread it onto our Velcro. Orient the top how we want it, and lay that Velcro over. So, down here you can see that the fabric does have a little bit of give to it. That's where our hole is, so you'll be able to actually hook that with the fabric in between, and it will stay in place. And then you can Velcro that down. While we're back here, we can also pass this back strap through. So, with the hardtop off, or with your top off period, this will be a little bit easier to install. However, it's really not that difficult to install it with the top still on your Jeep. So, now we can attach our corner straps to where we attached our buckle. We can pass that through, and tighten that down. So, now we can move to the middle straps. You do have this long strap. You will have to pass that between the hardtop and the sound bar here. So, with this, you can unclip the buckle, and thread that through. Tighten that down, and then you can click your buckle back in. And then tighten that one down. Then you can move to the middle one. Do the same thing. And then you can move on to your last one. So, after you've attached all of your buckles in the back, you can go around and tighten up all of your straps. What I do really like about this is the fact that it does seal in the front here. So, even though this does not require a windshield channel, unlike other options on the site, this will seal to the front and it will keep the integrity of the top. So, it does have a bar that is sewn in there. You'll also be able to reinstall your hardtop T-tops or your soft top over this, so you can keep it on all the time. All you have to do is unbutton the two footman loop buttons, and un-Velcro the center footman loop, and then you can fold this front portion back, and attach these two buttons. So you're able to relatch down your T-tops or your soft top. So, in order to do that, all you have to do is unbutton both. I already unbuttoned that side. And then you can flip this back, and button it here. So, now you have full access to your footman loops to latch down your T-tops or latch down your soft top. So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install on the Bestop Targa-style bikini top in mesh, fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers.
