How to Install Rugged Ridge Elite Locking Fuel Door & Cap Kit - Black (07-18 Wrangler JK) on your Jeep Wrangler

1. Start by removing the driver’s side rear taillight. Remove taillight by remove the (2) Phillips head screws along the inside edge of the light. Unplug light and set aside. 

2. Unscrew and remove the factory gas cap. Use a plastic pry tool to unclip the retaining wire. 

3. From inside of the rear fender use a long flat head screwdriver to press on the retaining tabs to remove the factory gas cap trim.

4. Slide the rubber gasket, from the new Rugged Ridge Elite fuel door, over the factory gas tank filler neck.

5. Position the fuel door and push into the rear fender of the Jeep, using medium pressure until the (4) locking tabs click into place. 

6. Screw the new locking gas cap in until you hear a click. Turn the key to lock into place. 

7. Reinstall the rear taillight to complete the install.
