        5 2018 Wrangler - Bridget

Absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this tent. .

It was perfect! We got an air mattress that fit my Jeep JL, slept in Jeep with the windows open. We were able to stand in tent put all of our coolers, clothes etc in the tent with tons of space to spare. The tent is durable and easy to put up and tear down. Only wish is my jeep is red and would of been great to match my tent to my Jeep. Its a Girl Jeep thing...

        SUV Tent

This tent is as easy as 1-2-3. Absolutely love it. It is so roomy. Not to big not too small. This is one of the best additions we have purchased for our Jeep. The carrying bag is a good size and love the color. This tent is extremely durable and will last a long time.

        4 2015 Rubicon - BarryN

        Bears Jeep Tent review

I Purchased the tent for a camping trip and over all it was pretty awesome. The only issue I have had with it was the first time I set it up one of the straps that hold it to the Jeep pulled right off the fabric! The threading didn’t hold. After that I was extra careful with strapping it as I was afraid others could do the same. It did hold up well in a rain storm along the coast.

        1 2006 Wrangler Unlimited - TessaN

        Worst purchase ever

I purchased this tent for my jeep. I set it up in my yard to check everything and it worked and fit my jeep perfectly! Later I finally used it...once! Packed it all up and went home. I took it out a week later and as I was unfolding a pole, the line inside broke...really? I used it camping ONE time and it broke. It's outside the purchase return date so now I can't return it. Not happy.

        4 2014 Wrangler - LuisN

        Access to all

This tent was awesome! My wife and I used it on our drive along the coast vacation this summer and being able to access our gear from inside the tent it was a life saver. On our first night in southern california the amount of mosquitoes were impressive. Bug repellent worked on most ut some mosquitoes didn't care and bit us anyway. This tent kept us from having to go outside when we needed access to our gear and getting eaten alive by the blood suckers. Another feature we liked was the size of the windows which were plenty big to allow you to marvel at the wonders of nature, in our case the amount of mosquitoes, while being protected. My only complaint is that the fender flairs and bumper of the jeep don't allow the tent to make contact with the sides of body. This leaves some gaps that are big enough for some critters to get in. Some bug repellent and creative use of towels helped to close the gaps though. I give the tent 4 stars because of the gap issue. I think that a small magnetic flap sewn to the sides would alleviate the problem that I'm sure is common on other vehicles. This tent is definitely worth buying. The price is not high and having access to the inside of the vehicle from the tent can make a big difference between being miserable or feeling like you're a part of nature.

        5 2016 Rubicon - BillC

        Awesome tent!

This tent goes up extremely easy and had to endure major rain and wind on its first outing. We stayed dry the entire time with two solid days of 40 mph winds and rain. It is nice to be able to access your vehicle without getting out into the weather to do so. I highly recommend this tent to anyone that does a lot of jeep camping. Plenty of room and built very well.

        2 2017 Wrangler - JayD

        Disappointed for the price point.

Okay, this tent looks really cool. That being said, it isn't made for just a Wrangler. In fact, the directions have steps to hook to the luggage rack or use the extenders to go all the way to the front wipers and every picture shows more of an explorer type SUV, not a Jeep. Straps can't go where the directions show because it wasn't written for a Jeep. Once it was all up, there are still gaps on both sides along the Jeep, so it's not going to keep any insects out. Finally, for the price I was shocked when one strap came off in my hand, but not as much as I was to see that the floor had a hole in it after only 2 nights sleeping in it on a cot. I originally thought I could use the A/C or heat intermittently, however no thought was given to redirect the exhaust, or even have the outside tent on that area be more heat resistant. It's not what I thought it would be, but the lack of quality was the real surprise.

Is the tent compatible with soft tops?

      • Hello! The Rightline Gear SUV Tent will work with a soft top wrangler.

I just want to be sure that this tent would fit on a 2008 Rubicon with about 4-5" lift, and the full size spare attached to the back door? Thanks

      • Depending on tire size this should be ok, however if you have very large tires, such as 37's or 40's the Rightline Gear SUV Tent will be at an extreme angle, and will not be optimal.

My jeep has a four in lift and 35" tires, can I still connect this thing?

      • Hello, yes, you can still connect this tent on a Wrangler with 4" lift and 35" tires.

I have a large 35'' spare tire on the rear. I would imagine that would hinder the use of the tent while both closed and open??

      • With the Rightline Gear SUV Tent you would be able to use a 35 inch tire. Having a larger tire would just take up a bit more room inside the tent, since the tailgate is accessible from inside. However the tent can be used with 35's.

Is there a similar tent that fits to a Wrangler but is smaller (2 person?), simpler construction and quicker setup?

      • If the Rightline Gear SUV Tent (87-17 Wrangler YJ, TJ, & JK) is too big we do carry a 2 camper Rightline Gear Pop Up Tent (87-17 Wrangler YJ, TJ, & JK) [http://www.extremeterrain.com/rightlinegear-pop-up-tent-110995.html]. Unfortunately this tent does not have the option to access the back of your jeep from inside the tent.

What exactly is the point of this? In all seriousness, what is this for? It's not like a pickup where you can actually put an air mattress in the bed and sleep there while having an attached tent for a more campers.
