I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Rugged Ridge Quick Release Mirror Kit, fitting all 1997 to 2016 Wranglers. This kit is available in both the rectangular mirrors that you see here and round mirrors, and it's also available in two different finishes, either gloss black or textured. You can also purchase these mirrors individually or as a pair. This mirror kit is for those of you who want to take the doors off of your Jeep but also want to remain both legal and safe by retaining your rear-view mirrors. Now, there are kits out there that will permanently move your factory mirrors from your doors to your A pillars and I really like those kits because they save you the additional step every time you take the doors off of installing or removing your quick release mirror. However, if you're somebody who has a newer JK that has either the power mirrors or heated mirrors, you'll lose that functionality by moving the mirror to the A pillar, so if you're somebody in that situation, I definitely recommend these.I especially like these mirrors over some of the other quick release mirror kits on the market because these are really solidly built. Some of the issues that you can have with a mirror like this, especially at highway speed, is a vibration that makes it really hard to see behind you. These mirrors are nice and solid, so that won't be an issue for you.On the back of each of these mirrors is a ball joint that is fully adjustable, so you can tighten it down, and that's going to keep the mirrors from moving when you hit highway speed. The way that the arm is designed and the way it attaches to the quick release bracket means it's going to attach really tightly and, again, it's not going to vibrate, especially at highway speed. Because the arms and the mirrors themselves are fully adjustable, you're going to be able to see the mirror in any situation. One of the drawbacks to moving the factory mirror to the A pillar is it can make the passenger mirror a little bit difficult to see. You won't have that issue with this kit. This kit is designed to be completely bolt-on and installs really easily. In fact, it uses a lot of the factory hardware which makes it even easier. The first step in the installation is to install the bracket that will stay on the Jeep. In order to do that, you have to remove two bolts from the factory windshield hinge. Now, we found that ours had some Locktite on them, so it might be helpful to run a die and tap through the bolt and bolt hole to make sure they're nice and clean before you reinstall those bolts. That will decrease the likelihood of you cross-threading one of those bolts.Once you have the bracket installed on the Jeep, you install the mirror onto the mirror arm, and then put the mirror arm in the quick release bracket. The whole installation shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes and the only tool you'll need is a socket to attach the mirror to the mirror arm and a Torx bit to remove those factory bolts. I think this kit is worth every dollar that you have to pay for it because of how solidly it's built. You can get two of these mirrors for right around $50 and in my opinion they're worth that. I would much rather have a mirror mover kit that permanently moves my factory mirror from my door to my A pillar, again, just so you don't have that extra step every time you take your doors on and off. However, I'm a TJ guy, so I don't have to worry about power mirrors. If I had a JK that had power mirrors that were heated, I definitely wouldn't want to lose that functionality and I would be installing a set of these on my Jeep.So if you're somebody who likes to take the doors off your Jeep for that open air driving experience, but you want to remain legal and safe, and you don't mind the extra step of taking the mirrors on and off every time you take the doors on and off, I think this is a well-built and fairly priced kit.So, that's my review of the Rugged Ridge Quick Release Mirror Kit, fitting all 1997 to 2016 Wranglers that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

I ordered these to pop on when I remove my doors until I decide which permanent relocation kit I like. They came well packaged and feel very sturdy. I slipped them on briefly this weekend while we had some sunshine and they're perfect for what I need. I regretfully didn't take any pictures but I will on the next warm day. You can ACTUALLY see out of the passenger side and vibration isn't an issue like some door mount mirrors. They do look great so I'll work on getting that picture. Very happy with the purchase especially at this price point.Helpful (0)

Simple Install and does the job
I was looking for some basic mirrors that I could easily swap between having the doors on and off. These mirrors accomplished that easily and look great. Adjustment was quick, and taking them off is very easy. Plus, leaving the mirrors of when I put the doors back on, the hardware doesn't take up a lot of space.Helpful (0)

Perfect small addition
This is perfect for a quick and easy addition to make your jeep street legal with the doors off. Simple and effective design and cheap enough that it doesn't matter whether or not they are the best mirrors on the market.Helpful (0)

Great Mirrors for the Price!
These are really nice for the price. They do need to be tightened now and then but maybe I’m not tightening them enough to start with. All in all, nice product!Helpful (0)
does this product come with 1 or two mirrors!? thank you!
"A" mirror - I learned hard way - just 1 in box
I have the Barricade roof rack installed on my 2015 JK will these fit on top of the roof racks front windshield mounting brackets using the same holes for the hardware bolts? Possibly I will only need longer bolts? Please advise.
These will fit with the roof rack using the same mounting holes. You will need slightly larger bolts to accommodate the roof rack mount and mirror mounts being used in conjunction.
When he talks (in the video) about a die and tap -- have you found that necessary? I wanted to check on that before ordering. I have a 2017 Sahara FYI.
The Rugged Ridge Quick Release Black Round Mirror install should not need to require use of a tap and die set to install these mirrors.
Can you move the arm towards the front of the Jeep when not in use? Or do you have to take off completely to put doors back on?
The Rugged Ridge Quick Release Black Round Mirror can be moved or you can remove it when re-installing your doors.
Will this allow me to keep using my light bar and pillar mounts?
Rugged Ridge Quick Release Black Round Mirror uses windshield hinge mount locations and depending on your bar/brackets, the mirror may not work with it. If it aligns properly and flush you may need to source longer hardware to properly install the quick release mirrors.
These can be both tightened and removed easily.
This mirror will work on both the passenger and driver side and you would not need a specific one for either side.
You can always find out what is in a kit by looking at the "What's In The Box?" section on the right hand side of the screen. This mirror is singular, and comes with all the installation hardware. If you believe that you have ordered the incorrect thing, please give our customer service line a call or email and we will assist you further.
Unfortunately we do not carry just the replacement mirror for your Rugged Ridge Quick Release Black Round Mirror.
Hello! When these are tightened down correctly and fully secured they actually barely move even at highway speeds! Although there will obviously a little bit of movement it is minor.
Hello, it will all depend if the mounting bolts are long enough to be able to accommodate both accessories there, for that reason we wouldn't be able to guarantee fitment.
Kit Includes a Mirror, a Bracket, and a Quick Release... i have learned that on this site you need to pay attention to description and images - Box comes with "A" mirror - only 1 - i learned the hard way - twice now
