Will this mirror fit in the existing door hinge when the doors are removed or do you have to install and use the bracket provided? I want to remove the doors but not install a special bracket. I just want to use the mirror with the original door hinge when the door is removed.

    • This mirror is not able to be installed in the door hinge as it only comes with a mounting bracket for the side of the windshield frame. We do offer the Barricade Adventure Mirrors (J107638) that will install in the upper door hinge.  Here is the link to the mirror:

      Way too low

On the TJ they do not attached to the bolts shown in the picture. They attach much lower than that. Which makes it a little difficult to use. Really not a fan but I am going to drive around with them on for a while and see if it's too annoying to keep.

      does the job

its great and meets the intent at a minimal level. just keep in mind if youre putting these on with the doors off, it might be inclined to fold inwards if you reach highway speeds (offroad trail product)

Good Mirror, but there are Some Tradeoffs

I like the mirrors, no doubt, but noted two issues: 1. The stubby design looks good and works great from the driver side. The passenger side is a little tough to see when I have my soft doors installed. (The long arm mirror would probably be more visible, but I prefer the short design) 2. I'm not crazy about the clamp when installed. It takes a lot of pressure and doesn't engage the top arm of the bracket, only the lower. But it does work OK. So overall good, but not a home run, and so many of the products I've bought here have been great!

      It will do the job....

For the purposes of complying with regulations, it will do the job. Mounting is simple, but attaching the mirror arm to the QD bracket needs quite a bit of effort. Torquing down the QD bolt by hand will still give you significant vibrations at highway speeds, but you can still make out the vehicles through them.

This little piggie’s mirrors must be made of straw

These mirrors DO NOT tighten enough to hold in place at even 35 mph. Find yourself a better product. Wish someone would have left an honest review. Don’t buy this.

      Nice Mirrors

These are very nice and easy to install mirrors. So far I’ve found that they are a little loose when driving and continue to need to adjust.

you get what you pay for

I ordered these mirrors a few weeks after i got my wrangler. They were only about $50-60 each, and you definitely get what you pay for. They shake when driving, the wind whistles quite loudly through them and every once in a while they come loose and fold in on themselves after a lot of thruway driving. You have to make sure theyre as tight as can be when you finally get them in a position that works for you and then dont try to move them for anyone else or theyll come loose again. I will say though that i like the style a lot more than my factory mirrors which i absolutely hated. and theyre perfect for doors off.

Not for road use I guess

Maybe the other reviews bought this mirror for their trail only Jeeps which may explain why they did not experience what I did. It had a very small field of view which is very is distorted. To the point it gives me a headache using it. It vibrates horribly, even worse at 30mph and gets even worse from there. Whistles starting at 5mph enough to be heard over the radio. As to the fit, well it mounted fine but was so horrible looking I was embarrassed driving my Jeep around with it on. Mounted where it shows in the picture gave me a great view of the ground and I was unable to align it properly. I had to mount it to the two bolts below the ones they used. Now I'm 6 ft in height and maybe that had something to do with the bad angle but I don't think so.

      Could be better

They fit and line up perfectly and the location where the mirrors sit is good I can see the passenger side no problem. You really have to crank them tight to keep them from swinging in. Not a problem until the passenger side swings in. The most annoying thing is the whistling. They whistle as soon as you start moving.

      Very satisfied.

I saw a few people say that they had a problem with the mirrors folding in at high speeds. This has not been my experience. They hold tight at 70mph. Very happy with my purchase.

      Quick and Easy

Worth the time and money, does require an additional washer to get tight to avoid folding at speeds above 55 mph... Better teeth in the design would help avoid the gripping issue..

      Nice and sturdy!

Love our new trail mirrors. They are exactly what we were looking for. They are sturdy, don't move around when we bounce around. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again.
