Hey guys, so today I'm here with the Rugged Ridge Quick Release Round Mirrors fitting all 1997 to 2018 TJ and JK Wranglers. So taking the doors off your Jeep is one of the best features that it has. However, when doing so, you are removing your mirrors and removing a lot of that visibility. A quick release setup like this going to be one of your easiest solutions to gaining some of that visibility back, and this option by Rugged Ridge is going to be one of your most affordable ways to do so.The kit's going to include a bracket that mounts up to the A-pillar as well as the mirror itself and right in the middle those are going to be attached with a quick release knob. This is gonna make it a no-tool install whenever you have to attach your mirrors when the doors are off. Perfect for the Jeep owner who's looking for a hassle-free design when it comes to extra visibility for the trail. Now, they're also going to hold up very well considering they're made of a durable steel construction and have a black powder coat finish on top, protecting that steel underneath but also giving you a very sleek look to your mirror setup. Not to mention, these are going to be fully adjustable for the best visibility considering you can adjust them down at the base here and also up at the top of the mirror with a ball and socket style setup. Now, again these are gonna be one of your most affordable options for trail mirrors at roughly $20. So in comparison to some other quick releases options, there will be choices with longer arms that will offer a little bit more visibility if you do need that. And then there will be options that will have a rectangular design instead of a round design like this. Now, when it comes to other mirror solutions on the page, you'll usually see that there are also relocation brackets for your factory mirror or they will be hinge-mounted options that will mount to the upper hinge on your Wrangler. Now those are going to have their own benefits, however, if you're not looking to relocate your factory mirror, especially if you have a powered or heated setup or you're looking to keep this hinge open if you wanna mount up a half door or a tube door, then this is going to be right up your alley. And especially for $20, you really can't beat that. So, install's going to be very easy at a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You'll only need a couple of basic hand tools to get the job done. So, speaking of that install, let's jump into that now. Tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench, T40 Torx socket, and a 12 millimeter socket. To kick off this install, I am going to go ahead and take off the door because that's how we usually will be using these mirrors. So, in order to do that you'll just need to unplug the wiring harness and take out the two T40 Torx bolts that are holding on the door on the hinges. Now, we don't have these in our Jeep, so I'm gonna go ahead and take off the door. What we can do next is remove the two T40 Torx bolts right up at the top of our A-pillar. I'm gonna be using a T40 Torx socket and my impact wrench. So, what we can do next is take our mount and unthread this knob and we can also take off the actual mount for our mirror arm. Then we can take that mount, making sure that the welded nut is facing the bottom and take the new T40 Torx bolts that were provided by Rugged Ridge as well as the plastic washers and thread those on to our A-pillar. We can tighten those back up with that same T40 Torx. What we can do now is take our inner mount and our arm and place the arm in the inner mount, making sure that the holes are lining up. We can take our provided knob, thread that through, and into the welded nut down at the bottom here. And this will act as a clamp and keep the arm in place. Now this is actually how you are going to remove your mirrors when you don't need them. You can keep this bracket on and then you can just take the knob off and remove the mirror as a whole. You also will be able to adjust this in and out. There is gonna be a little ribbed surface to make sure that it's staying in place. Now we can take our provided mirror. It's gonna have a bolt, lock washer, and flat washer pre-installed in the back of the mirror. I'm gonna take a 12 millimeter socket and just loosen that up. Once that's off of there, we can line this up with our mirror arm and then just install this through the arm. Then we can tighten that back up with the same 12 millimeter socket, adjust our mirror how we need to. And then we can repeat that process on the other side and we'll be all set to go.So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install. Make sure you like and subscribe. Just what I needed
Installation was a breeze and everything was included in the packaging. This is a much needed product, and reasonably priced, for times when the doors are off. I haven't tested on the highway but haven't noticed too much wobble during in town driving. Wild y definitely recommend.Helpful (2)

Quick release round mirrors
I have never been more disappointed in a product from Extreme Terrain. The mirrors will not stay in place as long as it takes to tighten them. More than once they have folded up on me in traffic leaving me with only the mirror on the windshield. Now I find out that I have waited too long to send them back and I am stuck with the things.Helpful (2)

Great for summer
The installation would’ve been painless if the factory torx bolts on the windshield frame weren’t such a pain to get out. My tip is to heat them up with a torch and pound the torx bit in with a hammer and taking it slow. Otherwise you’ll strip the bolts like I did the first time. The product is very good quality and they don’t move at all even at highway speeds. There is a slight whistle, but nothing unbearable. I definitely recomend.Helpful (2)

I purchased these mirrors for my '99 TJ. Installed as directed, they face upward, giving me nothing but a view of the sky. I'm 5'7" and place my seat farther up than is average, so the issue would be even worse for someone taller. The mirrors adjust in and out but not up and down. They may be all right on a JK, since they install in a different spot, but on my TJ they were useless.Helpful (2)

The video shows rectangular mirrors, but I can't seem to find them on your website. Do you sell those?
We carry the Rugged Ridge Quick Release Rectangular Mirrors which can be found here: https://www.extremeterrain.com/rr-quick-mirror-kit-tb-1102518.html
I would like to know how long the arm is on the mirrors.
Due to the arms not being straight on the Rugged Ridge Quick Release Black Round Mirrors it is difficult to give a length measurement for these. If straightened these would be approximately 10". Due to the bend, this puts the mirror center line out approximately 8" from the body, depending on the adjustment at the hinge.
Can you see out of the passenger side mirror with the doors on, I can't see out of mine because the mirrors I have won't rotate or swing
These mirrors are definitely going to help your Jeep look more legal than it does help functionally.
I lost the 2 quick release screws to hold the mirror. Am i able to order just those pieces or do I have to order a whole new mirror set?
once the quick release is mounted on jeep, can the door be replaced without taking the mounted piece off the jeep? I under stand the mirror has to come off, but can the small mounting bracket remain on with doors on?
Yes, the doors can be re-installed without removing the mounting bracket for the mirror.
The Rugged Ridge Quick Release Round Mirrors can be used with your doors on or off! You will lose some visibility on the passenger side due to the size of the mirrors, and when properly tightened you should not experience too much vibration from the wind.
In order to be installed they may require sourcing longer bolts.
