Merideth: Hey, guys. So, today we're checking out the MagnaFlow Street Series Axle-Back Exhaust with the Black Tips, fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. So, if you're looking for some more volume out of your Wrangler, while also getting a better look and some better performance, this option by MagnaFlow is a great choice to take a look into. With this system, you'll be getting rid of a lot of that restriction from your factory exhaust system, which will open up airflow, giving you better horsepower and torque numbers in the higher RPM ranges, but most importantly, you'll be getting some better sound. Now, when it comes to the sound level, I'm gonna give this a two out of five on the loudness meter, with one being completely stock, and five being incredibly, like, wake-the-neighbors loud. Now, while this will increase a little bit of volume, what it's really gonna do is deepen that tone, creating a more aggressive sound out of your 3.8 or 3.6-liter, which will be perfect for the Jeep owner who wants to hear their exhaust system from time to time, but doesn't want something that's going to give them a ton of volume. Now, that will make it good for you guys that are using your Jeep as a daily driver, and don't want something that's going to overpower your radio or your interior cab noise. Now, speaking of the cab area, this is also going to be on the minimal side when it comes to drone, making a comfortable cab environment. Now, when it comes to the construction, this will be a one-piece welded construction, that's built very well in my opinion, with good quality welds and factory-style hangers, which I really like. Now, those factory-style hangers are going to give it a really good fit. And not only is it going to fit well, but it's also going to perform well at the same time, with a straight-through style muffler that's going to increase that airflow while also being made of a 409 stainless steel material. This will also come with 2.5-inch diameter mandrel-bent tubing. That's going to give it some really good airflow while also having some really good rust resistance with that 409, especially with this satin black powder coat on top. Now, that satin black powder coat is gonna be great for anybody who is a fan of more of a blacked-out look, they're looking for something a little bit sportier than the standard or classic polished look, and is a fan of a large tip. Now, this will come with two large 4-inch slant-cut tips, again, just assisting in that sporty look, and it is going to be a larger choice than some other options available on the page, which will be great if you are a fan of a larger tip in comparison to a smaller one. Now, this will also come with 2.5-inch diameter mandrel-bent tubing. That's gonna give you some very smooth airflow, and that 409 material, that 409 stainless steel, will offer some really good rust resistance, especially paired with the satin black powder coat. Now, what I really like about this exhaust is the styling that comes with it. Now, the satin black powder coating that I mentioned, that's going to offer a very sleek and sporty look, especially paired with the dual outlet that you get here, and that large 4-inch tip. Now, that's also going to have a slant cut, so if you're a fan of a larger tip in comparison to a smaller one, this is going to be right up your alley, and offer some really good styling with it.Now, when it comes to the pricing, this will be more on the premium side, coming in at roughly $775. Now, again, this will be very well made, with high-quality materials and factory-style aspects, which I really think create a nice fit. Now, when comparing this to some other choices on the page, you will see some options that will come in a little bit of a different style or configuration, or will have a different sound level. Now, what I like about this choice is the all-black look, the large 4-inch tips, and the fact that you're going to get a deeper exhaust note, without a ton of volume. Now, some other choices will either come in a single-outlet configuration, similar to the factory one, or, if they do come in a dual outlet configuration like this one, they may have a smaller tip or a polished look, for a little bit of a classic appearance, as to where this is going to give you the stealthy, large 4-inch tip there. Now, other choices on the page may also be a lot louder than this on the sound meter, which may not be your cup of tea. Not to mention, some other choices on the page may come in a different material. So, again, this is 409 stainless steel. Some less expensive choices may have an aluminized steel build, which will be very similar to the factory one, and won't offer as much rust resistance as this one will. Now, those options are good if you are looking to save a couple of bucks, or you are a fan of a different style. But, in my opinion, I think if you're looking for something that's going to give you a very sporty and stealthy look, that's gonna be well-made, well-fitting, and it's not gonna give you a whole lot of volume but still make your JK sound really good, then this is it.Now, when it comes to install, this will be very straightforward, considering the factory-style hangers and the fact that it's a one-piece construction, so there's not a lot of components going on here. I'm gonna give it a straightforward one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about an hour to get the job done with the right hand tools. Now, one of our installers here is gonna show you how to get through that install step by step. So, that wraps it up for my review. Let's go ahead and get into the install.Man: Tools required for this install include impact gun, pry bar, an exhaust hanger remover tool, 15-millimeter socket, penetrating lubricant, and a floor jack or a pole jack. What's up, guys? Today, we're gonna be installing an exhaust on our Wrangler. So, our first step is gonna be to get this muffler out. So, let's get right to it.So, to remove our muffler, we have one clamp right back here that has a 15-millimeter nut that we have to get off, as well as a hanger right here, and a hanger right here. So, we can get a 15-millimeter socket on an impact gun, and loosen up this clamp. So now, starting on the passenger side, we can take an exhaust hanger remover tool and pop this out of the hanger. And now we can repeat that same process on the other side. All right. So, now we have a pole jack underneath the other side of our muffler to hold it into place. You could get a buddy to kind of hold it up. It'll make it easier to slide out of the hanger without it being at a downward angle. So, there's not really that much clearance for a exhaust hanger remover tool, so I'm gonna get in here with a pry bar. Now, with both of our hangers free, we can slide our muffler out. So, now with our stock muffler out, we can get our new muffler, slide our clamp over, slide it into place, and then we can get into the driver-side hanger first, and the passenger-side hanger second. Now we can slide our clamp into place, and tighten that down with a 15-millimeter socket. So, that'll wrap up this review and install of the MagnaFlow Street Series Axle-Back Exhaust with Black Tips, for your 2007 to 2018 Wrangler JK. Thank you for watching. And remember, for all things Wrangler, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
