    Review & Install Video

Hey guys, I'm Ryan from Extreme Terrain and this is my review of the RedRock 4x4 Dual Outlet Axle Back Exhaust that fits all 2007 to 2016 Jeep JKs, both 2-door and 4-door. As you can see, the system is offered in both black and stainless finishes. This is a great exhaust for those of you who spend most of the time on the road or on light trails without a lot of tail-pipe crushing obstacles. For those of you who spend more time on the rocks, you want to look at our high-clearance exhaust systems that tuck everything up and out of the way. When you're shopping for an axle back exhaust for your Jeep, you're really looking at three factors, one being sound, of course, the second being build quality, and the third being the looks. Now, no axle back is going to provide huge power gains to your JK. The exhaust is not the most restrictive part of the system, so opening it up isn't going to give you a ton more power. And unfortunately, no axle back is going to make your V6 sound like a V8. That being said, this exhaust will give you a nice low note. You'll definitely notice more of a growl, especially during the higher RPM band when you get into the throttle getting onto an on-ramp, for instance. I give it about a two out of five on loudness. You'll get a little bit more sound, but you'll definitely notice the lower note. And when it comes to the quality of the construction, these are really solid, especially for a budget system. They don't sound tinny. They've got a nice heavy weight to them. The welds are consistent, they look really strong. And the finish is great in both black and in stainless. They use the same 409 stainless material as some of the most expensive systems, so they should hold up for you in the long run. And if you were to have any problems in the first three years, RedRock 4x4 offers a three-year warranty. And finally, visually, the systems look great. You get the dual outlet exhaust that gives your Jeep a tough look, and you get to choose between either the stainless with the polished tips, or the black to really customize the look of your rig. The install for this system could not be any easier. You need one wrench to loosen and re-tighten three different bolts, and it uses all the factory hangers. On a scale of one to five, this is definitely a one. You can probably get this done in less than an hour with normal hand tools. You don't even need to call a friend for an extra set of hands. Now if you want to see what other people are saying about this exhaust system, make sure you check out the customer-submitted reviews on the website. And if you're having trouble deciding between black or stainless, there are tons of customer-submitted pictures. So for you guys that are staying on the road or on the light trails and want that nice low exhaust note and a custom look, this is the perfect system for you. It's really well-built for the budget, and shares a lot of features with the more expensive systems that we offer. So that's my review of the RedRock 4x4 Dual Outlet Axle Back Exhaust. For more reviews, check out extremeterrain.com. In the meantime, I'm Ryan, thanks for watching.

Hello guys and gals. I really love my new exhaust it’s a great price for a good sounding exhaust. It took a little time to remove the old 1 and I had to make some adjustments to the new 1 but it’s on and it sounds pretty good.

            Redrock rocks!!

Took longer to get the old muffler off than it did to put the new one on! Maybe an hour total to replace! Cut the old hangers on your old muffler to make removal easier!! Love the sound! Nice deep growl! Almost sports car like when idling!

            Outstanding product

At first it was pretty squeaky so I wasn't a fan but then I realized that was installer (me) error, make sure it's not touching the heatshield that's mounted right above the muffler canister, that'll cause an annoying squeaking, lol

            Weak Exhaust System

Do not buy this exhaust. It looks good cosmetically but sounds horrible. Once installed you cannot return it, but you don't know what it sounds like until that is completed. I lost about $400 from buying this poor exhaust and now have to get a new exhaust system.

            Perfect Purr to It

I bought this over a year ago and love it. There was an easy installation with it. The only thing is I live in a climate where salt is on the roads because of ice, and it has created small rust spots.

            Please read before you buy!

Does it work and sound nice? Yes. I am not returning it. But extreme terrain is not being honest about what it takes to install. The video rates this a 1 and says it requires only a wrench and less than hour? Fat chance. First of all, you will not get the muffler off the passenger side hanger with a wrench. Before you buy this, order an exhaust hanger removal tool. You will only use it once in your life but without it this install will easily be 3 hours. I did not know about this and had to make a couple of trips to the auto parts store, which does not carry this tool. I was able to finally get it loose with an angled pry bar. It took all the strength I could to get it done. Getting the new exhaust on was easier but also had its challenges. The muffler is not the same size as the OEM and does not sit in the same exact space. So no matter what you do, it does not completely sit inside the heat shield area. You can even see this in the video of the install. The result is that it rattles when you go over bumps. Not cool! When I get a chance I will have to find a way to keep it from bumping up against the heat shield. Be warned. Get the tool ahead of time. And be prepared for frustrations. I can say however that I do like the look and sound of this exhaust. I just wish extreme terrain was not as deceptive as they are about the install. I know they want the sell products, but it is not cool to be dishonest.

            improved sound easy install

Appears to be a well made exhaust system. Install was easy three clamps and your done. The night before I sprayed rust remover where the exhaust connected. A screwdriver and a little twisting of the existing muffler and off it came . A second set of hands makes the process easier.

For the price you really cant complain at all. I find the sound 2k and 3k rpms to be kind of annoying but its really growing on me over all. Looks great though! way better than stock no matter what. it didn't take no time to put on but did take me forever to get the stock exhaust off. had to cut my clamp off with a grinder

            Red Rock Axle back exhaust

The new exhaust system looks great and sounds even better. It was a little difficult to remove the old system from the hangers than was indicated in the videos. But once it was out of the way the new system was in and tightened up within 40 minutes. While the exhaust was out I removed the small heat shield and spray painted it on both sides with 585 Deg. Black Paint and reassembled it. All looks and sounds great.
