I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Barricade Rubi Rails fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. There are versions of these rails for both two door and four door JKs, and they're available as you see them here or as an enhanced rubi rail with a step built in.These are for those of you who don't have rubi rails on your Jeep from the factory but like the finished look that they provide. Without something like this, the pinch seam on the side of the Jeep can look a little bit unfinished. These definitely finish off that look. It's important to note that these are not going to be all out rocker armor or rocker guards. These do a nice job of protecting you from door dings in the parking lot and from some light trail obstacles, but they're not going to be all out armor. In fact, the way that the mounts are designed on these, they're not going to be quite as strong as a factory rubi rail would. However, if you're somebody who's looking to finish off the look of the side of your Jeep, wants a little bit of protection, but you're having trouble finding some factory rubi rails that somebody took off with their Rubicon or Special Edition, or you're finding them and the price is just too high because of how rare they are, then these are a nice option.Even though these aren't designed to provide the level of protection you would need if you were doing hardcore off-roading or rock crawling, they are really well built, especially for what they are designed to do. They're made of a stainless steel material that's covered in a textured black powder coated finish, which is going to hold up well over time, be really durable, and I think they look pretty good. In fact, Barricade offers a three-year warranty along with these rails. These are also designed and constructed to install very easily on the Jeep without the need to drill anything. Unfortunately, the way that they're designed to mount, and specifically these mounting tabs and their construction are the reason that these don't add as much protection as they might add otherwise. If you are somebody that needs that additional protection, a lot of people choose to run these Barricade rubi rails alongside of a Barricade rock slider. The rock slider adds a ton of protection, these rubi rails add a little more protection, and they finish off the look of the finished seam. I think they work really well together.Getting these installed on a JK was really easy because they're designed to be completely bolt on. The first thing we did when we took these rubi rails out of the box was run a die over the threaded studs that are on the rails. That gets rid of any residual powder coat and ensures that you're not going to have any issues with stripping a nut while you're trying to get these installed. The Jeep we installed them on is a brand new 2016 four door, so it has threaded holes in the bottom of the tub. We did run a tap up through those holes just to make sure they didn't have any mud in them from the last off-roading trip and that they were nice and clean. Again, just to make sure we didn't strip a bolt.If you have an older JK, between 2007 and 2010, you won't have threaded holes in the bottom of the tub, but don't worry, the kit does include all the hardware that you need to install the rubi rails, so you'll have J nuts to insert in those holes and get everything bolted up without a problem. The entire installation should take you less than an hour and you won't need any specialty tools, just a socket set and some open ended wrenches. It will be helpful to have an extra set of hands around, however, because these do have a little bit of weight to them.I'm a little bit torn when it comes to talking about the price of this item. Normally, I would say that they're priced high for something that is just an aesthetic mod. And, like we said before, these are mostly aesthetic. They'll give you some light protection but they're really designed to cover up that pinch seam. However, when you look at other options of different products on the market that are designed to do the same thing and mount in the same location, they're all priced right around the same area. That's because they're competing against factory rubi rail takeoffs where there aren't that many of them and they're a little bit hard to come by.So, if you're looking for this part, if it fits into your build, if it's something that you want and you have the budget for it, I say go for it. I have nothing bad to say about the product itself. I think it's really well built and I honestly think it looks good. However, if you're looking for something that's going to offer more protection, you can either run these in conjunction with proper rock armor or jump right to the rock armor that's going to give you the protection that you need. So, that's my review of the Barricade rubi rails fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.
