I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Barricade Rubi Rails fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. There are versions of these rails for both two door and four door JKs, and they're available as you see them here or as an enhanced rubi rail with a step built in.These are for those of you who don't have rubi rails on your Jeep from the factory but like the finished look that they provide. Without something like this, the pinch seam on the side of the Jeep can look a little bit unfinished. These definitely finish off that look. It's important to note that these are not going to be all out rocker armor or rocker guards. These do a nice job of protecting you from door dings in the parking lot and from some light trail obstacles, but they're not going to be all out armor. In fact, the way that the mounts are designed on these, they're not going to be quite as strong as a factory rubi rail would. However, if you're somebody who's looking to finish off the look of the side of your Jeep, wants a little bit of protection, but you're having trouble finding some factory rubi rails that somebody took off with their Rubicon or Special Edition, or you're finding them and the price is just too high because of how rare they are, then these are a nice option.Even though these aren't designed to provide the level of protection you would need if you were doing hardcore off-roading or rock crawling, they are really well built, especially for what they are designed to do. They're made of a stainless steel material that's covered in a textured black powder coated finish, which is going to hold up well over time, be really durable, and I think they look pretty good. In fact, Barricade offers a three-year warranty along with these rails. These are also designed and constructed to install very easily on the Jeep without the need to drill anything. Unfortunately, the way that they're designed to mount, and specifically these mounting tabs and their construction are the reason that these don't add as much protection as they might add otherwise. If you are somebody that needs that additional protection, a lot of people choose to run these Barricade rubi rails alongside of a Barricade rock slider. The rock slider adds a ton of protection, these rubi rails add a little more protection, and they finish off the look of the finished seam. I think they work really well together.Getting these installed on a JK was really easy because they're designed to be completely bolt on. The first thing we did when we took these rubi rails out of the box was run a die over the threaded studs that are on the rails. That gets rid of any residual powder coat and ensures that you're not going to have any issues with stripping a nut while you're trying to get these installed. The Jeep we installed them on is a brand new 2016 four door, so it has threaded holes in the bottom of the tub. We did run a tap up through those holes just to make sure they didn't have any mud in them from the last off-roading trip and that they were nice and clean. Again, just to make sure we didn't strip a bolt.If you have an older JK, between 2007 and 2010, you won't have threaded holes in the bottom of the tub, but don't worry, the kit does include all the hardware that you need to install the rubi rails, so you'll have J nuts to insert in those holes and get everything bolted up without a problem. The entire installation should take you less than an hour and you won't need any specialty tools, just a socket set and some open ended wrenches. It will be helpful to have an extra set of hands around, however, because these do have a little bit of weight to them.I'm a little bit torn when it comes to talking about the price of this item. Normally, I would say that they're priced high for something that is just an aesthetic mod. And, like we said before, these are mostly aesthetic. They'll give you some light protection but they're really designed to cover up that pinch seam. However, when you look at other options of different products on the market that are designed to do the same thing and mount in the same location, they're all priced right around the same area. That's because they're competing against factory rubi rail takeoffs where there aren't that many of them and they're a little bit hard to come by.So, if you're looking for this part, if it fits into your build, if it's something that you want and you have the budget for it, I say go for it. I have nothing bad to say about the product itself. I think it's really well built and I honestly think it looks good. However, if you're looking for something that's going to offer more protection, you can either run these in conjunction with proper rock armor or jump right to the rock armor that's going to give you the protection that you need. So, that's my review of the Barricade rubi rails fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Got these for my 2016 KJ. Absolutely love the look of these, was impressed how heavy duty they are. Very easy install as well. However- had to give a 4 star, because although they were packaged very well, a mounting bracket had rubbed spot off rail down to bare metal. Also, there is a gap that gets wider from front to back, is not consistent down the body.Helpful (3)

Finished Look for Wranger JKU Sport!
My 2017 Wrangler JKU Sport had an unfinished look with the pinch seams showing. These rails gave it that finished look. Great product. Very easy install.Helpful (2)

Great looking product. Install was simple and fit perfectly. Wasn't a big fan of how they were mounted. The brackets didn't seem to be rugged enough for extreme use. Overall, they seem heavy duty and finish off the look of the Jeep.Helpful (2)

Not what I was looking for!
I have a 2012 JKU Sahara and I had removed my stock side steps in order to install Barricade rock sliders. After that, I didn't like how the pinch seam showed with all of the bolt holes. I wanted something to cover it up and thought I'd try these by the same manufacturer. They are way more than they need to be. Very thick and they stick out from the body and cover most of the step up room on top of my rock sliders. Way overkill to just clean up the look which is all that I needed. Very disappointed! Try something else!Helpful (2)

Will these work with the Barricade Rock Sliders?
Yes, you can install these together with the Barricade Rock Sliders. The Rock Sliders Bolt to the body mounts and the Rails mount to the Pinch Seam.
Are these compatible with the RedRock 4x4 3 in. Curved Round Side Step - Textured Black (07-18 Wrangler JK 2 Door). Thanks!
The Barricade Rubi Rails would not work with the RedRock curved round step no.
If I have 35 inch tires and a 2.5 inch lift will these rub against the tires?
The Barricade Rubi Rails should present no rubbing issues with your 35's when used with a 2.5 inch lift and wheels with an appropriate backspace/offset.
Given that these Rubi Rails mount to the pinch seam, will these work with the Hyline Side Step (#J104889), which mount directly to the frame?
The Hyline Offroad Tube Step and the Barricade Rubi Rails would not be compatible with one another due to clearance issues near the bottom of the Rubi rail.
will these work with ds2 sidesteps?
Fitment will vary based on exact model, please give us a call to discuss further.
At this time Smittybilt does not offer a rock slider or guard that will be compatible with Rubi Rails.
The video is incorrectly worded, these will mount the same as OEM Rubi rails, but will not be as strong as a rock rail that is frame mounted.
Huskyliner J102037 should work with these Rubi Rails.
Unfortunately, Barricade designed these rails to work with the JK models and will not be compatible with the JL 4 door.
So long as they do not mount to the body, as these are a body mount, and they mount to the pinch seam, you would be able to run this combination.
Yes, the Barricade Rubi Rails and theRugged Ridge Textured Black Side Armor Nerf Bars can be installed together. You can install most frame mounted side steps with the Barricade Rubi Rails.
The Barricade Rubi Rails for the 07-18 Wrangler JK 4 Door will weigh approximately 62 lbs for the pair.
Depending on the size of the lift you are running, the type of tires, and how centered your axle is you may have rubbing issues with the Barricade Rubi Rails and 37s. It is likely you may need to trim them to prevent rubbing when flexing or off roading.
We do not recommend using the Barricade Rubi Rails as a Hi-Lift jack point as they're mounted to the pinch welds.
The Barricade Rubi Rails should utilize M8x1.25 hardware, but we recommend verifying the thread pitch prior to installation as we have seen this changed by the manufacturer in the past.
