Ryan: These Barricade Rock Sliders are for those of you that have a four-door 2018 and up JL that are looking for some side protection as well as a little bit of a step for your Jeep to help make it easier for you and your passengers to get in and out. This is going to be a very, very simple one out of three wrench installation. You just have to remove a couple of bolts and pop them back in with the sliders in place, and we're gonna show you how to do that in just a second. So when you're shopping for anything that bolts into the rocker area of your Jeep, you're really going to find two main categories. One is going to be a sidestep. They generally hang down a little bit lower and a little further away from the Jeep, and they're not going to offer a ton of protection. In fact, they can be a bit of a hindrance when you're off-road because they'll get hung up on stuff and they'll get banged up and bent up. The other option on the other side of that coin is rocker protection, that usually is tucked up nice and tight to the body so it's not a hindrance off-road. It's also usually much stronger and much better built, but if it does have a step built into it, it's not all that useful. Again, because it's just tucked up so close to the Jeep. This is going to be a little bit of a hybrid, I would say a little bit more toward the armor side than the step side. So it does stick out from the side of the Jeep. You are gonna be able to use this as a step, but it's not going to be as useful as one of the more traditional 3-inch round sidesteps that sits way down away from the Jeep. But the benefit to it being tucked up nice and close to the side of the Jeep is that it offers really nice protection and also isn't going to be a hindrance off-road. So this is going to be a very strong piece. This bar is at a bit of an angle so if you are sliding down off of an obstacle, it's going to want to push the Jeep away from that obstacle instead of getting hooked on it. So very, very good piece of armor. Also going to be a pretty solid step. Now the one thing about this armor is that it bolts to the very large body bolts that hold the body of the Jeep onto the frame, so there is a lot of strength there. However, it's not also going to bolt onto the pinch seam. I often like pieces that bolt on both of those locations because it eliminates any movement of the sidestep when you're on an obstacle and there's a ton of leverage. So by having bolted in two places, it's a little bit stronger, but this is utilizing some very strong attachment points. Even though there is just really one plane of attachment, they are going to be some really large strong bolts. Now for this piece of armor, you're gonna pay right around that $350 market and I do think that's going to be a pretty fair price for this piece. Again, you're getting a lot of function, a step, a piece of armor. It also looks pretty good on the side of the Jeep, at least in my opinion, so you are getting a lot for your money. This is a very, very simple installation. We'll have Tony show you how to do it right now.Tony: Tools used for this installation are as follows: a impact gun with a 18-millimeter socket. All right, now let's get started with the installation and this is fairly simple. Alls we have to do is take out the three body bolts that retain the tub of our Jeep down to the frame. Now once those bolts are out, we're gonna put the new washers supplied with the kit on them, slide our new sidesteps or rock sliders, whichever way you want to look at it, up into place and replace our factory bolts right back in. Let's get started. Now with our 18-millimeter socket, we're gonna go ahead and get our first bolt out. All right, now to install our new rock sliders on the side of our Jeep with our three bolts out, just line up the three holes on the brackets and reinstall our factory hardware and tighten it down and we're done. Now that's all it takes to install our sidesteps.
