Hey. What's up, guys? Ryan here from ExtremeTerrain, and today I'm here with the Barricade Rock Sliders in textured black fitting your 2018 and up two-door Wrangler JL. Now, this is gonna be for those of you off-roading enthusiasts that are looking for some relatively affordable side protection for your trail rig. How we make our Jeeps taller, we throw larger tires on there increasing our ground clearance and ultimately increasing the capability of our Jeeps. This allows us to tackle those harder trails, go over those larger obstacles and of course get deeper into the woods, but a lot of times we overlook armor. Now one of the most vulnerable spots on your Wrangler is going to be that rocker panel and that pinch weld seam and if you were to go over an obstacle such as a rock and come down on that, you could cause some serious damage to the tub of your Jeep. Now there's plenty of options in the aftermarket world that are gonna provide plenty of protection and Barricade is gonna offer a very affordable and solid design. Now this going to be a direct bolt-on rock slider, it bolts directly to the body mount so there's no drilling or modification required. And this whole thing is made of heavy-duty stainless steel tubing. So you're getting maximum corrosion protection and something that's gonna last you a long time. Not only that, it is coated with a textured black powder coating that's gonna tone that down a little bit and it's going to give that aggressive, rugged look to your Wrangler and it's also gonna protect that and add even more corrosion protection. Now these consist of a number of tubes. You are gonna have a very nice tube that's gonna follow all the way along that pinch weld, provide plenty of protection. If you were to come down on an obstacle, it's gonna give you that peace of mind knowing that that is going to take the full force of that hit and it's not going to damage your body. Now, these also extend a little bit. These tubes are fully welded up and they're gonna give you a little bit of a step. Now it's not gonna be very hard for you stock guys, of course, to hop into your Wrangler, but some of you lifted guys, this is going to give you a nice step and give you a little bit of a boost when you're trying to get up into your Wrangler. Now since these bolt to the body, they're gonna be a very strong design. The body mounts are a pretty large bolt and this has two mounting points on this two door, so you're going to get a very solid setup that is going to provide plenty of aesthetic aggressive look and it's also gonna provide protection. Now options such as this in the aftermarket world are gonna range anywhere from $150 all the way up to $400. Barricade is offering a very awesome design that's a very easy bolt-on and honestly for a stainless steel product coming in right around $300 you're getting a very good deal. Now one of the nice things about these, they're going to work with those Rubi rails, whether they are aftermarket or factory, and that's gonna add even more protection to that pinch weld. Now as far as installation goes, like I said, this is a very easy bolt-on. I'm gonna give it a pretty easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter as you can get both of these installed in about an hour and you just need basic hand tools. Now with that being said, let's hop into our install.Tools we used for this install: 1/2-inch drive impact, 18-millimeter socket. All right guys, so before we get started with this installation if you do have a factory sidestep or if you have an aftermarket one you need to remove that. It's very easy to remove, they're just held on with a few nuts and bolts and you can get all this done with a 13-millimeter and 10-millimeter. Now if you do have a Rubicon and you have that Rubi rail or if you have a standard model with that Rubicon rail, one of the nice things about this is this is actually gonna fit over top, so you can leave that on there and you're good to go. Now we are gonna be working on the driver side, and the way these mount, they are gonna mount to our body mount. So we're gonna need to take to body mount bolts out. We're gonna do that before we actually get this installed. I wanted to show you, we're gonna start with the driver side and you can see we have these slash cuts right here. So these mounting holes are gonna face upward. This is gonna tilt a little bit. We're gonna make these slash cuts at the front. So I'm gonna go grab some tools and a creeper and then we'll get those bolts out, get this thing installed. So now that we're under the Jeep, we can see where our body mount bolts are. We're gonna have one up here by the front. We're gonna have one in the rear. So what we're gonna do, we're gonna take these out. We need an 18-millimeter socket on an impact. We'll go ahead and just run this one out and then we'll go to the back, do the same thing. So we want to pull that bolt all the way out. It's a pretty long bolt. We'll just lay it on the ground then we'll move to the back. All right now ideally with the help of a friend, we're gonna go ahead and place these up into those frame mount sections then we're just gonna reinstall those body bolts. So now that we have both of those bolts in, we can go ahead and tighten them back up.All right guys. So now that we have this side installed, what you want to do is you want to take a torque wrench, you want to torque those factory bolts down back to 125-foot-pounds, and then you can do the same exact process to get that other side installed. However, that is going to wrap up my review and install. For more videos and products like this, check us out at extremeterrain.com.
