Do these require sheet metal trimming or do they fit stock wheel well opening? Or should I use the TJ version on my YJ? Need to open up the wheel well. Thanks.

    Dokdirt

    • The Barricade Rear Fender w/ 3 in. Flare would require some trimming of the stock fender. You could make the TJ version work, however it would require some more trimming to factory fender well.

what do you do for a front turn signal with this style fender my vehicle is 06 TJ thanks andy

    andy

    • For the front Barricade tube fenders, aftermarket turn signal lights are required if you state requires them. We do not have any turn signal lights that will work, but a 7/8 inch led light would work.

Does it matter if you put the Barricade corner guards on first or the fenders first

    MAC

    • Thank you for your question! For install, you would be unable to install the corner guards without removing the fenders first.

      Good looking addition

I finally got around to installing these on my YJ and I really like them. Only mods I had to do was drill out the factory holes to accommodate the bolts that came with the fenders, and cut a portion of the rubber part of the factory side steps, which I plan to replace with rocker guards anyhow. They really fit well.

      Good quality.

Look good and went on with minimal effort. They really opened up everything for bigger tires. With the front flat fenders and these rear flares I was able to fit 33x12.5 on my stock suspension with my super flat leafs. I lifted it 3 inches so I could flex and articulate but for the street with just these fenders they would fit.

Good for the money, I guess..

look to be good for the money, but with no instructions and bolts that appear to either be A) to small or b) to be used in locations where there is no access to add a nut/washer combo due to boxed structures, they are a bit of a pain to install.

Review from Barricade Rear Fender Flares (97-06 Wrangler TJ)

      Rear tube fenders

Good Fit, for the most part. There is a bolt hole in the very front of each fender, that when you take out the old fender, you cant use with the hardware they send. You are very lucky if you can use that old bolt back on the new fender as the nut on the underside of the the body (that you cant get to) just spins and spins so you cant tighten down. Jeep may have just made this nut inaccessible on the earlier Tj models(?). But with all the bolts but one, its still pretty solid! Worth the money!

      Good price fendors

I ordered the fendors and they came to house quick couple days. Fendors were what was advertised and I am happy with them. I had to modify some of the parts I already had fabed to fit them. If you don't have other armour they bolt right up.

      Well built

Great fenders only thing I will say that I didn't like it came with cheap bolts that strip easy. I went and got better bolts and that fixed the problem.

Review from Barricade Rear Fender Flares (97-06 Wrangler TJ)

      Good Quality - Great Price

For the price, you can't beat them. The welds look good. The coating looks good. They installed really easy and fit right up with the holes on the body. One tip, if you are doing armor on your corners, do these flares first. I installed Poison Spyder corners a few months back, and these flares didn't sit flush with the body because the armor was in the way. It wasn't a big deal, I just ground down the flare where there was interference, and it fit perfectly. I read another review that said if your are using barricade armor, this wasn't an issue which makes sense. So, either use barricade armor on the corners or install the flares before the armor. In general, buy with confidence.

Heavy duty but came in two different colors!!

My first impression of these were heavy duty and sturdy. After further inspection I noticed they were two different colors one flat black with almost no texture and one satin black with heavy texture. I'm not sure who checks these before they ship but I was disappointed.

This flare was just what I was looking for. I actually modified it somewhat at the rear for added Tire clearance. Functionality and style both good.
