      Review & Installation Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com and this is my review of the Barricade Mirror Relocation Kit fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This kit is available in the textured black powder coated finish that you see here and it's also available in a gloss black powder coat. There are a few different options when you are trying to retain your rear view mirrors when driving doorless. You can either install a quick release mirror bracket on the A pillar of your Jeep and take the mirrors on and off every time you install and uninstall your doors. Another option would be to get a mirror that doesn't have a bracket and that just sits in the factory door hinge, and again, every time you take the door on and off, you have to install and uninstall that mirror. I really like a setup like this because it permanently moves your factory mirror from the door onto the A pillar of the Jeep, which helps to eliminate that additional step of installing and uninstalling the mirrors every time you take the doors on and off. Now, unfortunately with a setup like this, if you have power mirrors or heated mirrors, you are going to lose that functionality. So, if you're somebody who's in that boat and you want to retain that function, maybe one of those other options I talked about would be a better fit. However, Barricade did a really nice job of overcoming one of the other shortfalls of a mirror setup like this. Traditionally when you install the mirrors on the A pillar, because you move them forward a little bit, it can be hard to see the passenger side rear view mirror from the driver's seat. What Barricade did was make the passenger side fully adjustable to three different locations to ensure that you can see that mirror even from a comfortable seated position in the driver's seat. Overall I think this is a really well put together kit that's less expensive than some of the other ones on the market, and has even more functions. These relocation brackets are made of steel and they're coated in either a textured black powder coat finish or a gloss black powder coat finish, so you can choose whatever matches your build. They come with these block off plates to cover the factory locations where the mirrors would mount in your doors. They come with the brackets that go on the A pillar and gaskets to go between the metal of the bracket and the painted surface of your Jeep to keep it from chafing and ruining the paint. With a setup like this you do use your factory mirrors, which helps to keep the cost down a little bit over some of those quick release setups that have both a bracket and a mirror. The installation of this mirror relocation kit is really straightforward. The first step in the process is to remove the factory mirror brackets and mirrors from the inside of the door. Once those are removed, you can install the block off plates that come in this kit. After that you'll remove the two Torx bolts out of the windshield hinges in order to install the new relocation brackets into place using the gaskets that are included. After that, it's as simple as reinstalling the factory mirrors onto the new brackets and adjusting the passenger side bracket so that you can comfortably see the mirror. The whole installation process shouldn't take you more than two hours, and you won't need any specialty tools, just some Torx bits. This kit is priced really fairly for what you get. Between the gaskets, the block off plates, your choice of finishes, and the adjustability of the passenger side mirror, I think you get a lot of features, and it's definitely worth the price. So, if you want to stay both legal and safe when driving without your doors on, and you're somebody who either doesn't mind losing the power functions of their factory mirrors or doesn't have them to start with, I think this is a really nice kit that saves you an extra step every time you take your doors on and off. So, that's my review of the Barricade Mirror Relocation Kit fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

        5 2007 Wrangler - Dave0523 Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Works well!

I had no problem relocating the mirrors. Everything fit nice and tight. Had to knock a star off appearance because, in less than 2 weeks, the bolt for the extension on the passenger side has started to rust.

Better than the ones that whistle and I'm legal.

You do lose a little visabilty on the passenger side. Mine is is extended to second extension setting. I got better visablity on both sides by turning the whole housing in just a bit. You'll have to play around with it. You will need to get a longer bolt to fasten mirror to arm. I used one of the orginal bolts that held the orginal arm to the door and just got an extra bolt for the delete plate. Biggest complaint, and it's minor, is that with the passenger side extended at all, the profile is not symmetrical. Should be adjustable length on both sides.

        Dissapointed

Installed these on my 2015 JK. They were impossible to get straight. Upon investigating, they were welded out of square. I had to return the item

        Not for power/heated mirror

I guess I didn’t read the reviews and/or specs, but I didn’t see where it said it’s not compatible with power/heated mirrors. B/c I didn’t want cut the power cord to my original mirrors. So....I just sent them back.

        UPDATE FROM EARLIER REVIEW

Stay away from Barricade, there are no replacement parts, if something happens you're stuck with buying a complete new set.

4 2008 Wrangler - RobbieM Installation Time: Afternoon

Exactly what they're supposed to be

They look great and definitely get the job done with a much superior mirror system for no-doors. Only problem was the stock mirror didnt really fit into the bracket so we had to sand down the inside of bracket and outside of mirror to get it to sit down in the fitment.

        Stupid Simple!

Easy and quick to install! Looks excellent. The hardest part was getting the old mirror out of the original arm. You may have to loosen the bolt till it comes out far enough to tap it with a rubber mallet to break it from the seat.

        Mr. Moves a lot

The passenger mirror moves a lot when driving. I had to put in on the last hole in order to see through it and that caused it to be loose. They both move fairly easily, I was hoping they would be a little more sturdier than they were.

        Not That Great

I'm really not happy with these at all. The mirror seems to loose and if you hit a bump to hard, it will actually move the glass making you have to readjust the mirror. The hardware is garbage and they dont sit straight when in place, bot side kind of droop out instead of sitting straight and tall.

After installing this is there any problem opening the door? Will the door bump into the mirror in the mirror's new location? Thank you.

      • The Barricade Textured Black Mirror Relocation Kit is designed so the door will not bump into the mirror as long as the door straps are attached to the door.

My 07 mirrors will not fit it the relocation bracket. Only go about 1/2 way in. Both sides have same problem. The bracket hole is either too small or the 07 mirrors are bigger than other years. I thought I might be able to screw it down but the bolt is not long enough to reach due to mirror not seating all of the way. Any hints?

Has anyone had an issue with the driver side mirror settling crooked? Installation went flawless but as I'm driving down the road, the mirror seems to droop towards the outside. I have tightened the bolt as much as possible...Even tried shoving some cardboard into the space/hull of the mirror itself to "prop" of the one side but to no avail. The passenger side mirror rides flawless and upright but the driver side is "drooping" Any suggestions? I'm about at my wits end and am contemplating buying a replacement mirror. 1 answer

Got the kit installed, works pretty well! I cut my power mirror wires and taped them off incase I ever want to have them connected again. Dont really care about the power mirror option as the relocation benefit outweighs the power. One issue I see is the passenger side is vibrating big time and shaking the mirror. I have it in the 2nd hole of extender but I actually planned to move it out further to the 3rd. Everything is super tight. I think if I stuff something rubber in there it should help. Anyone fixed this with a good solution? 1 answer
I purchased this for my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and then purchased some manual mirrors to put in since my mirrors are powered. Noticed that the metric bolt that came from the manufacturer doesn't fit inside the hole cover for the door. I am guessing the threads are made for a standard bolt. Also the bolt wasn't long enough for me to actually use to bolt the mirror to the frame. I had to go purchase a longer bolt to even be able to get it to thread correctly. Is this normal? Did I just get some faulty product? 1 answer
This question has been asked several times - but not answered. Simplified - where do the wires from the power/heated mirrors go when the mirror case - to which they are attached - is relocated? The wires do not have a plug -that I can find- that is short enough to tuck into the mirror case. The only plug I've found is under the dash, several feet from the mirror case and way to long to store in the case. If the plug even fits through the door mount hole. The videos show non powered mirrors. Might I suggest you actually try to relocate powered mirrors and share how it's done? If it can be done. 1 answer
