      Review & Installation Video

Hi, I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Barricade Trail Force HD Front Bumper with LED Lights, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This bumper will definitely change up the look of the front of your Jeep and it'll add some additional functions. So, whether you're just looking for a visual upgrade, or you're looking to add some additional features to the front of your bumper, all without going to the top of the price range, this is a good option to take a look at.The Trail Force HD is a mid-width steel bumper that's built from 5/32 inch steel plate and two inch round tubing. The whole thing is finished off with a black powder-coated finish and the bumper weighs in at about 79 pounds. Aside from the visual aspect, this bumper does add quite a few features. It has two D-ring mounts up front here for recovery points and it includes the D-rings. It also has two light mount tabs up on top of the bumper hoop and it includes a built in winch plate for up to a 1200 pound capacity winch. Because of some space restraints on the front, you will have to run a hawse fairlead and a synthetic line on your winch. If you want to run a roller fairlead with a steel line, you will have to make some modifications to the fairlead to make it fit. One of the more prominent aspects on the front of this bumper are the four built-in LED lights. Now, these are more of a marker light than they are a true auxiliary light or a driving light because they don't project a ton of light. But, a lot of people think they look cool and if you have other LED auxiliary lights or LED headlights, these will match in color temperature. The bumper comes with a wiring harness that includes a switch, a relay and a fuse, so you'll have everything you need to get the lights wired up and working. This bumper installs pretty easily just like any other front bumper on a Jeep. The first thing you'll have to do is remove the factory bumper by loosening the eight bolts that hold it on the framework. Then this will slide right into place using the pre-installed studs and the hardware that's included in the box. Because this is a mid-width bumper, you won't have to relocate the vacuum pump or anything like that. If you do plan on installing a winch on your Jeep, it's often easier to bolt the winch to the bumper and then put the bumper and the winch as one piece onto the Jeep. It just makes it a lot easier to get to the winch bolts when the bumper's on the ground.Like I said before, the bumper includes a wiring harness that'll get these lights working on the included separate switch. You will just pick up a positive and negative at your battery and pull the switch wire through the firewall. If you're somebody who's comfortable with wiring, you can modify this wiring harness so that these lights will come on with the factory fog light switch. You won't need any specialty tools to get this bumper bolted on to your Jeep, just a socket set. The whole process should take about two hours including the wiring.I think you do get a lot of value for what you pay for this bumper because of all the features that are included. However, the finish does suffer a little bit because this is a budget product. So I'd recommend this if you're looking for a budget bumper that has a ton of off-road features and unique styling thanks to the built in LED lights. So that's my review of the Barricade Trail Force HD Front Bumper with LED Lights, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs, that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com

1 2016 Wrangler - BobbyS Installation Time: Afternoon

        Bobby

The lights and the finish on this bumper are extremely poor. The finish is flaking off, the lights are a joke and there are no replacement parts. The lights also came installed crooked from each other. Luckily I have a fab shop and was able to patch the holes and laser cut the bumper to accommodate Rigid lights. I also had to re-powder coat the whole thing. The matching rear bumper is just as bad and has flaked off the powder coating. Be warned when purchasing this product.

1 2007 Wrangler - Ken Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        No Replacement LED's Offered

I bought this bumper for my son in March 2019. I road in it for the first time in a long time at dusk and asked him to hit the lights. Half of one of the oval lights lit up, one round one did not and the other side worked ok. He told me it's been that way for a couple of months. I "chatted" on-line with Extreme Terrain today only to be told they don't carry parts for it and I could buy 4 different lights and modify the bumper so they fit "ok". Between this, the switch tree issue I had and the latest being the "matching bumper" I just bought for Christmas (that doesn't match). I'm returning it, but ET and Barricade will be off the go to list for aftermarket parts. I would have been good with a response of out of warranty, but here's how much a light is going to cost. I'm not ok with, sorry sir, but you can buy 4 new lights that will fit after you cut up the bumper you just bought.

Only lasts a couple of years if your lucky

Well when I first installed the bumper I loved it. 3 years later not real please. The bumpers finished started chipping and peeling after the first year. (After the warranty ran out). 3 years later the LED's across the front dont work. Not pleased but as they say, you get what you pay for. DONT BUY IF YOU WANT A LONG TERM BUMPER.

Good bumper, not so great paint job

I've had this bumper for 3.5 years and it already started to rust!! I live in Kentucky so this shouldn't have been a problem. Had to pull it off and strip it all down to repaint it with bed-liner. The bumper looks 10x better than when received

        Barricade Front Bumper

Good looking bumper for the price. After the terrible experience I had with the rear bumper I had my doubts. Bumper went right on with no problems. Took all of maybe 15 minutes to install the bumper, about 45 minutes to get the wiring in and 20 minutes to get the clear plastic shipping material off the light lens. Looks great and the lights are bright! Happy with this one so far! Hardest part and most time consuming was taking the factory bumper off!

        Good looks

Good look really like the style especially for the cost. Personally took the time to connect the bumper lights to the headlight switch instead of using the one that comes with the bumper. If you are comfortable with stripping wires and reconnecting it then I would recommend.

Is there a plug and go to connect to factory fog light wiring??

      • The Barricade Trail Force HD Front Bumper does not have a plug and play type connection for the LED lighting, and would need to be wired in.

I am also curious if the led fog lights can be changed out for a better light? The wiring in these lights is pretty bad.. I accidentally pulled a wire out of the back of the lamp and then took the light off the bumper to investigate to find that the light wasn't attached with a rubber seal, washers, or anything other than a screw and a nut...The wires are literally just slid into a connecting hole in the back of the light..no clamp, no screw, no ay to fix correctly if you accidentally pull a wire out... There is simply no way this will hold up on the trail or even the road for that matter. In any event if possible I'd like to replace all 4 of the lights that came with this bumper with higher quality lights. Do you have any recommendations?

      • At this time we do not carry any lights that are capable of replacing the LED lights included with the Barricade Trail Force HD Front Bumper.

How do I change the lights with replacements?

      • The LED lights on this Barricade Trail Force HD Front Bumper are replaced simply upon unscrewing some screws attached to the brackets on the rear of the bumper, or by removing each screw up front. Once the light is loose, the lights themselves are simple and plug-and-play, they will just slide right in or out.
