Simple installation for anyone.
The Barricade Fastback 2-in-1 Soft Top is for those of you that have a 4-door 2007 to 2018 JK that are looking for a top that's going to be a good Fastback style soft top but also be able to very easily convert into a safari top for you and it's the top that's a little bit less expensive than some of the other ones out there. Now, in general, when you're looking for tops, you're gonna find a couple of different categories. One is going to be a replacement soft top that's going to fit over top of the factory soft top frame you already have, the other is going to be a complete replacement soft top including the frame and all the soft components, and finally a top that falls into this category, which is going to be a non-factory style top that may or may not require factory components. And this one does require your factory soft top frame, all of your factory hardware, as well as requiring a different additional windshield header. So, you are going to need some additional parts, just keep that in mind when you're considering the overall cost of running a top like this one. This is overall, still going to be a very easy one out of three wrench installation and we'll talk a little bit more about that in just a second. Now the barricade tops, in general, are known for being a pretty good quality top but being a lower price than some of the other options out there. So, if you're looking for a top you don't have a huge budget for it, maybe you're just running the top in the warmer months and putting a hard top on in the wintertime, you're looking for a top that's not gonna last you 10 years, you don't need that, you just want something that's going to be able to be thrown on there and give you the ability to pop the windows out and convert into that safari configuration very easily, then this is going to do that for you.Of course, there are tops out there that are going to have similar functionalities, that are going to be a lot more expensive and they may have a couple more features or they might be made out of a higher quality material, different levels of build quality so you can spend more money to get one of those options if you choose to. But if you're looking to stay on a little bit of a budget, this is still going to be a very nice top. This soft top is going to run you right around that $400 mark, which I do think is a pretty good price for the quality of the top that you're getting and also the features. As it says in the name, this is a fastback top which basically means that it slants from the top of the sport cage down to the top of the tailgate, giving the back of the top a bit of a slant to it and that does give you a unique look comparing it to a factory style soft top. And that look is something that a lot of you guys are after. Also in the name is the fact that this is a two-in-one top, and what that means is that it very easily turns into a safari top for you. So you zipper out the two side windows, you roll up their rear window and this is a safari top. So, there is nothing that connects the rear corners of the top down to the tub other than just some straps. So, again very easily going from Safari to a full top and back again. So, you're going to get a lot of flexibility with this top, you're going to get a lot of different features in a lot of different options that I really do like. This top is going to be a black diamond material which is going to be very similar to the factory sort of normal soft top material that you would get. Now, in the later years, Jeep did start offering a premium fabric that is available from a lot of different manufacturers that is going to be more expensive. It's a heavier material, it looks a little nicer and holds up a little bit better. This is not that, this is still very high-quality material. This is just like a factory soft top but not a factory premium soft top. So, this does have all three tinted windows, fastback styling and also has some mesh pockets built into the front portion of the top so over the front passenger seat and the driver seat.Even has some zippered mesh pockets just giving you some additional storage on the inside. So, this is a very well-thought-out top that does give you some nice flexibility and some nice features. Now, we'll have a member of the install team show you how you get this installed on your Jeep. Now, let's get started with the installation of our new soft top on our 4-door JK Wrangler. Now for this install, you are gonna need a few of the factory parts, those being our factory door surrounds. We're gonna get them reinstalled since our Jeep is completely bare right now when it comes to top hardware. Let's go ahead and get started. But we got our top laid out here on the table with our new windshield channel and we're just gonna slide this into the front pocket of our new top and snap all the snaps down. After that, we'll just go ahead and lay this over the windshield of our Jeep. But before we install it, we definitely got to get this door surrounds back in.Now, if you just take your windshield channel, slide it into the pocket and line up the snaps. Now, the snaps are a little tight, so you're gonna want to just press firmly until they click. All right. Now we're ready to go ahead and get this one on our Jeep. Now, these door surrounds do not come with the kit, you're gonna need to have your original ones to do this. All right. Now, we have the top slid over our windshield and hood. We have our new windshield channel up here, all you got to do is flip it over and lock it down into position. Then we'll slowly flip our top back and secure it down to our Jeep. All right. Now, we're here in the backseat of our Jeep because we have our top flipped halfway back. What we're gonna do is get our middle straps locked down in place and where those are gonna go is in these two holes that are inside your sound bar. Now, those are where the original wing nuts go when you have your hardtop one. We're just gonna flip these under, flip them inside the hole, and just pull them tight. All right. Now, we're ready to go ahead and flip this further back and we'll get the rest of our straps locked down in place. All right. Next, we're gonna take our rear straps, then you'll take this, wind it around the outside of your sports bar and underneath your mounting point for your seat belt. Back up into the buckle. Then you don't want to take this too far down just yet until you get the other side done. All right. Now that we got our two corners tied down and tightened, we can get our center ones done. Now, you're gonna flip that strap over the inside of your sports bar through the buckle and tighten it down. All right. Next, we're gonna go ahead and get our rear window bar in place. Now, you're gonna need your factory rear window bar, that is the only other stock part you're gonna need for this installation. Now, we're gonna go ahead and just slide our factory rear window bar onto our rear window and just slides right in the channel. And once you get the bar installed, you can go ahead and lock it down into place. All right. Now we gotta get our sound-deadening bars or sound-dampening bars, whichever way you want to call them. What they're used for is they're gonna slide in along your top and keep it from making that whooshing noise while you're top flaps up and down in the air. Now what we're gonna do is actually pull it apart, so it's two pieces. I'm gonna slide the first piece in going over top of our sound bar, then I'm gonna slide the other piece in, connect them together and get them locked down in their pockets. All right. Now, we're almost finished with the installation of our soft top. We still have to put our side windows on but first, we have to get this small drip rail out of the way. Our new top actually tucks in in its place. Now, these are just stapled in, so you can get a small pry tool and just pry down on them until they come out, but you're gonna want to take your time, you don't wanna cause any damage to your door surround. All right. Now, just take your new top with this plastic channel that comes on the end and just tuck it into that channel. Now, just go ahead and make sure you do that on both sides. All right. Now, we're ready to go ahead and get our side windows in. Now, we're just gonna go ahead and get these in our zippers first. And you're gonna be careful with your zippers, don't force them, they should move very easily. All right. Man, just get this strap at the top of your window into the buckle that is on your top itself. Then just pull that tight. Pull this part over. Now, you can pull this strap from your top down over your window. Tuck it under your belt line, pull it tight, Velcro it down. Now just repeat that on the other side and we'll be done with our top. All right. Now, we're all finished with the install of our new soft top and it looks great.
