Description
Specs. Getting an accurate speedometer and odometer reading is important both to staying safe on the freeway and trailblazing successfully, too. Speed and distance measurements tell you where you are on your map. Adding bigger tires or cranking up the axle gear ratio for more aftermarket power throws off the stock speedometer readings by changing the tires' RPM. Rugged Ridge's 41-tooth gear restores the correct maximum margin of error of 3% or less to Jeeps with cable speedometers.
Construction. Rugged Ridge's Long Shaft Speedometer Gear with 41 teeth is made from stainless steel and plastic, and mounts easily in the OEM location in the transfer case tail housing. This gear works with a 5.13 ratio and 35 inch tires; a 4.88 ratio and 33 inch tires; and a 4.10 ratio and 27 inch tires. Consult a gear tooth chart prior to installation in any case. This gear works with Wranglers fitted with cable speedometers. A 5 year limited warranty backs the gear against defective manufacture.
