Specs. The Rugged Ridge ORV Steering Stabilizer reduces on-road vibrations, and improves off-road steering capability. Large off-road wheels and tires can negatively alter your suspension geometry, leading to steering wheel vibration and increased steering effort. This steering stabilizer can make your Jeep a lot easier to control. And it looks pretty cool too. This damper has a 150 psi nitrogen gas charge, and a polished chrome piston for long service life.
Application. This stabilizer fits 2007-2018 JK Wranglers.

It failed in less than 12 months
We were on our way back from Colorado driving to Chicago and the stabilizer went out with about 100 miles to go. We limped home having to stop anytime we hit a rough patch of road. We probably only drove 3,000 to 4,000 miles with the new stabilizer. I should not have failed.Helpful (0)

Replaced this with stock after about a year
I bought this for a brand new 2017 JK 2 door Willy. After about a year of use I noticed my steering was getting more wobbly than it originally was. After replacing the stock stabilizer back on my jeep, the steering was noticeably better. It sounds as if this one took in water as it makes a sloshing noise when it is shaken and it has noticeable jumps when pulling and pushing the bar in with my hands.Helpful (10)

Install is easy. My JK's steering felt too loose using the stock stabilizer while running oversized tires. After installing this the steering feels a bit heavier and overall ride is better. Also, it is great value for the money. Just to clarify, this stabilizer is nitrogen charged. The install and review video says it is not.Helpful (14)

Rugged Ridge Orv Stabilizer
The Rugged Ridge Orv stabilizer is a heavy duty shock that is easy to install and works perfectly. Even comes with a boot for protection. Major upgrade from the O.E.M.Helpful (14)
Will this stabilizer fit on stock height? Have 33's on stock jeep
Yes, this can be used on the Wrangler at stock height.
The video for this product indicates that is a 50/50 hydraulic stabilizer bust the description says it is a 150psi nitrogen gas stabilizer? Which is it? If this is not hydraulic, what hydraulic stabilizer do you recommend?
What is the bracket that this item is attached to (left side)? Is it a relocation bracket, if so do you have that?
The bracket shown is a relocation kit, though we do not carry it on the site.
Will this product fix the death wobble I am experiencing? And will it fit a stock ‘08 sport?
We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing death wobble with your Jeep! Death wobble can be caused by a number of things, the Rugged Ridge Orv Stabilizer may help but it also may not. We'd be happy to troubleshoot with you, please contact us directly! Our contact information can be found here: https://www.extremeterrain.com/contact.html. Or you can take it to a shop to have them diagnose what is causing the death wobble.
I have a 2010 wrangler sport with a 4 inch lift and 35x12 tires i have put on a dual fox steering stabilizer set up and changed all tie rod ends and still can't it lose the road drift it's next to impossible to keep it straight . I'm looking at the rugged ridge orv set up ad it goes on the steering linkage . Would that help to stop the drifting ?
We recommend having your Wrangler's Alignment checked, as well as ensuring your tires have adequate air pressure for road use (this may take some trial and error). A steering stabilizer will help with tire pull, however the difference between the Rugged Ridge Orv Stabilizer and the Fox dual steering stabilizer will be minimal. In order, it sounds like either a tire pressure issue, or an issue with he caster being off for alignment.
Providing that the Jeep is aligned properly and the front end components are in good condition, there would be no added benefit. The ORV stabilizer is a product that Rugged Ridge offers to go along with their lift kits. The valving in the stabilizer is a little "heavier" that the stock one to help with the added road feel when going to a more aggressive tire.
Hello! I am very sorry for the confusion! This is not a nitrogen charged stabilizer! We will get that typo corrected ASAP! Thank you for pointing that out!
