Specs. The Rugged Ridge ORV Steering Stabilizer reduces on-road vibrations, and improves off-road steering capability. Large off-road wheels and tires can negatively alter your suspension geometry, leading to steering wheel vibration and increased steering effort. This steering stabilizer can make your Jeep a lot easier to control. And it looks pretty cool too. This damper has a 150 psi nitrogen gas charge, and a polished chrome piston for long service life.

Application. This stabilizer fits 2007-2018 JK Wranglers.

What is the bracket that this item is attached to (left side)? Is it a relocation bracket, if so do you have that?

    HeatherS

    • The bracket shown is a relocation kit, though we do not carry it on the site.

Will this product fix the death wobble I am experiencing? And will it fit a stock ‘08 sport?

    DanJ12

    • We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing death wobble with your Jeep! Death wobble can be caused by a number of things, the Rugged Ridge Orv Stabilizer may help but it also may not. We'd be happy to troubleshoot with you, please contact us directly! Our contact information can be found here: https://www.extremeterrain.com/contact.html. Or you can take it to a shop to have them diagnose what is causing the death wobble.

I have a 2010 wrangler sport with a 4 inch lift and 35x12 tires i have put on a dual fox steering stabilizer set up and changed all tie rod ends and still can't it lose the road drift it's next to impossible to keep it straight . I'm looking at the rugged ridge orv set up ad it goes on the steering linkage . Would that help to stop the drifting ?

    Rodney

    • We recommend having your Wrangler's Alignment checked, as well as ensuring your tires have adequate air pressure for road use (this may take some trial and error). A steering stabilizer will help with tire pull, however the difference between the Rugged Ridge Orv Stabilizer and the Fox dual steering stabilizer will be minimal. In order, it sounds like either a tire pressure issue, or an issue with he caster being off for alignment.

Would there be any benefit replacing the stock stabilizer with the ORV, or any other stabilizer brand, if you have a stock Jeep with no lift kit or bigger tires? What if you plan to add a new metal front bumper and winch that weighs in the 200 lb range?

    DavidB

    • Providing that the Jeep is aligned properly and the front end components are in good condition, there would be no added benefit. The ORV stabilizer is a product that Rugged Ridge offers to go along with their lift kits. The valving in the stabilizer is a little "heavier" that the stock one to help with the added road feel when going to a more aggressive tire.

The video says it is not nitrogen charged but the description says it is. What's the real story?

    SteveI

    • Hello! I am very sorry for the confusion! This is not a nitrogen charged stabilizer! We will get that typo corrected ASAP! Thank you for pointing that out!

      Good replacement.

Just replaced stock SS with the ORV. Steering feels tighter and less vibration after hitting bumps. Great product!

      Good Stabilizer

Install is easy. My JK's steering felt too loose using the stock stabilizer while running oversized tires. After installing this the steering feels a bit heavier and overall ride is better. Also, it is great value for the money. Just to clarify, this stabilizer is nitrogen charged. The install and review video says it is not.

      Rugged Ridge Orv Stabilizer

The Rugged Ridge Orv stabilizer is a heavy duty shock that is easy to install and works perfectly. Even comes with a boot for protection. Major upgrade from the O.E.M.

Makes stock steering stab. Look like mini-me

Much beefier over stock, responsive/no play steering even after going to larger tires. Good upgrade without breaking the bank.
