Will this bracket fit my 06 tj? I like this style instead of the 06 style where you have the whole flap on the mirror that would cover the hinge on the door

    DerickF

    • This Rugged Ridge Mirror Relocation Brackets fits 97-02 Wranglers only. Modifications or additional parts would be needed to use these with an 03-06 Wrangler.

Will these fit with a snorkel?

    AshleyS

    • Depending on how your snorkel mounts, you may run into fitment issues with the Rugged Ridge Mirror Relocation Brackets if your snorkel mounts to the windshield frame! If you have any questions about fitment you can always contact us directly as well: https://www.extremeterrain.com/contact.html.

Does the door hit the mirror when you open it if you have the stock strap in the door?

    JT

    • Hello, for the Rugged Ridge Mirror Relocation Brackets, Black (97-02 Wrangler TJ) if the mirror is in the regular driving position and you are using the stock straps on the door, it shouldn't hit the mirror when fully opened.

I have a Barricade roof rack installed on my 01. Will this still be able to fit or will the rack be in the way?

    Ryan

    • The Barricade Roof Rack utilities these windshield mounts on your Jeep already. You could use these RUGGED RIDGE QUICK RELEASE MIRROR KIT, TEXTURED BLACK, RECTANGLE (97-17 WRANGLER TJ & JK) [http://www.extremeterrain.com/rr-quick-mirror-kit-tb-1102518.html] instead. These quick release mirrors also come in a circle form.

      Rugged Ridge Mirror Relocation Brackets

An impact was required to remove the existing tapered bolts and a few quality Torxhead drivers were destroyed in the process. Because the holes are countersunk, the OEM tapered bolts are not appropriate and a standard pan head needs to be sourced or the bracket reamed with a countersink. The mounting brackets are well constructed and fit well, however, the passenger side mirror is obstructed by the mullion in this position so using the stock mirror is not an option. The driver's side is fine.

      Not work for Passenger side

Works great for the drivers side. Cannot see the mirror with the doors on on the passenger side, I put the original bracket back on the door panel for now. . Need to re-design.

      Relocate Brackets

The brackets were of fine quality. The problem is that the passenger side mirror is not useable in the location that this bracket puts them when the doors are installed.

      Good product

They do exactly what they are meant to do. Straight forward good construction and decent price make them a must for anyone wantin to lose their doors this summer.

      Solid Bracket

Not quite a stock look, but the closest I have purchased. I have three sets of aftermarket "doors off" mirrors, and they are all in a box now. Having the stock mirrors back with the doors off is the look I was going for the whole time, and didn't even know it.

      Good quality but...

The brackets are great quality and bolt on flawlessly to my 99 TJ. However, after 2 days use I moved my mirrors back to the doors for 2 reasons: 1. The mirrors (I bought two new door mirrors as well for this setup) wouldn't stay put for some reason (kept eventually folding down). I tightened and retighten the mirrors and it lasted longer but eventually the wind/vibration combo would push them back down. 2. They vibrated so much more that I couldn't see any detail in the mirror. I will leave the brackets in place and will use my old door mirrors when I need to remove the doors.

      Worth every penny

The product was exactly what it was sold as. Fits great and was not hard to install at all. The bolts were a bit hard to remove due to the lock tight from the factory but nothing to hard to remove with an impact driver. The passenger side does position fine with the doors off, which is the point of having these brackets. I can see why some have said they are blocked with doors on but I live where doors are not needed more than a few times a year so perfect for what I needed.

      Works great

I decided to order these after considering several other options. These went on in minutes with the factory mirrors. They’ve been on all summer and haven’t moved. They don’t vibrate or cause a wind noise as most other reviews for other products mention. Highly recommend this item.

Passenger mirror is useless with the doors on

You can’t see the passenger mirror with the doors on. There should be an extension on the bracket so it can still be used or at least an option to purchase one.

      Quick and easy

I tried twice to get brackets from a competitor, but they were out of stock on both attempts. The Extreme Terrain brackets cost a little more, but they were sent out quickly and fit perfectly. My only negative comment is that there were no instructions in the box but it was easy to figure out.

      ok

Hassle free install - except for the fact that there isn't any hardware included, and the factory bolts are too short. Buy the smitty built kit for $25.00 and save a headache.

Great solution for halfdoors and no doors

They were a little tricky to install because the stock bolts are just a tad short but workable. With the half door uppers on it's a little difficult to see the passenger side mirror but it works.

      Good but not amazing

While the brackets make it easier to take the doors off and remain legal, there are some issues with the relocation. First issue I had was the darn windshield frame bolts, they have locktight on them so removal is a pain, I had to ask a shop to hit it with an impact wrench. After that install takes 10 minuets. The only other problem I have is the passenger side mirror. They new angle makes it difficult to see, if you can see at all. The metal is good quality, install fairly easy after the bolts, but you're basically losing one mirror after instal.

      Relocation Brackets

Can't see out of passenger side with doors on. Will have to move mirrors from factory brackets to relocation brackets when doors are removed.
