Classic Styling. If you're running without doors or looking for a more classic look, the Rugged Ridge Black CJ Style Mirror Kit will give your TJ or LJ just what it needs with a slimming CJ appeal. By scrapping your big bulky factory mirrors you'll gain a slimmer profile and mirrors which feature a windshield hinge mount using existing bolt holes for a simple installation. These square Wrangler mirrors are the perfect complement to a classic bikini and are sure to make your rig stand out from the crowd.

Durable Construction. This CJ mirror kit for TJs is made from quality materials and features a black finish for resistance against corrosion and the elements. Just as the classic CJ option did, these mirrors feature an adjustable, central swivel point allowing you to rotate and tune into your mirror needs.

Application. The Rugged Ridge Black CJ Style Mirror Kit is specifically designed for use on all 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ models, include Unlimited (LJ) and Rubicon models.

I am looking just to purchase the bracket that attaches to the frame. I bought the kit with mirrors a few years ago but I had a bracket wear out and break. Do you sell the brackets separately or know where I could get them?

        • I apologize, we do not carry the brackets for this particular kit separate from the full kit. I would advise reaching out to Rugged Ridge directly for the brackets. They can be reached by calling: 1(770)614-6101

Do these only fit when the doors are off?

        • Thank you for your question! These will be compatible with the doors, but you will have to remove your stock mirror off of the door first.

            CJ retro side mirrors

Good- Look cool, if you enjoy that retro style! Bad- they whistle in the wind at all speeds!!

            great mirrors

These mirrors are awesome, they give you so much more visibility and they look super cool. the only down side to them is if you're driving on a bumpy road they tend to bounce out of position.

            Nice mirrors

These work well for doors-off driving. A little vibration, but not too objectionable.

fairly easy to install look great and give me better sight to the rear than the factory ones only problem I have found is my doors open so far that they hit the mirrors and knock them out of adjustment but I might can fix that by super tightening the bolts on swing arms or maybe can find shorter door straps IDK

            Poor design

As others have said the mounting system is a poor design. In addition, the mirrors won't stay in place when I drive on the interstate. You cannot tighten them or the plastic pieces will break. I bought these last March and will be looking for other options.

            2 1999 Wrangler - 99TJDlyDrvr

            Definitely lower end option.

No rubber to protect paint finish on mounting surface. Metal to metal means rust. 3/16" Allen wrench (instead of t-40 like the rest of the Jeep body) installation barely accessible on bottom of bracket and the bolts are distressingly short.. Mirrors fog easily, vibrate excessively when driving and the open bracket whistles at speeds above 40 MPH. Other than that the field of view is good and the mounting location is great for removing the doors quickly. Keeps you legal and no sweat if you rip em off with a tree or brush.

I like the mirrors but the mounting hardware is lacking a lot. You truly get what you pay for.

            Not quite satisfied

These mirrors look great unfortunately they came with a slight whistle and will not seem to tighten enough to avoid movement. Not the best product and I’m quite disappointed. Looking at other options.

Not happy with the CJ style mirrors

Product is nicely made, but has some issues. 1) at speeds above 35 mph they make a whistle noise. Tried repositioning several times, no change. 2) passenger side arm bracket doesn't sit, or the same as drivers side when installed. Mirror is I a completely different profile. 3) the mirror is a flat mirror. So even though it is a nice size mirror the view is quit narrow. If it was a little convect it would be much better. Not happy with the product, actually bought 2 round convect mirrors and mounted them to the brackets in place of the flat mirror. Much better view, and no whistle.

            They are solid mirrors

They are nice mirrors but they squeak when the wind hits them and they are hard to align.

            Tough to Keep them adjusted

I found them tough to keep adjusted. I have half doors and you have to be careful that if the wind catches the door the mirror hits the windshield.

            Rugged Ridge mirrors

The bolts that came in the kit are to short to even mount the bracket to the jeep. I returned them.

            Quick disconnect mirrors

I bought these quick disconnect mirrors they technically fit on a 97 through 06 but the mounting screws you must use are different than the newer body Jeep and if you allow your door to swing open it will Dent your door. I removed them and sent them back with no problems and ordered the CJ style mirrors which I love.

Don't waste your money. You will spend more time adjusting and readjusting the mirror view than anything else. Great concept, horrible execution. Heading to hardware store now to see if some different pieces will make them stay.

economy mirrors work but have shortcomings

These mirrors work but are low end. The stalk tubing is adequate but not robust, the metal stamping that makes the mirror pan is thin enough that the mirrors vibrate with engine idle and road bumps. You have to tighten the heck out of the clamp bolt to keep them from blowing back on the highway. But all that said, they do work and look good.

Looked great, but could not get them to stay put.

Loved the look of the mirrors, but we could not get them to stay put and be able to see anything behind the jeep. Ultimately returned them.

            Mediocre at best

They whistle. The driver side and passenger side are not the same height. Build quality is fine. They look good. But what gave it the one star is how freaking hard it is to adjust them. In the pictures it looks like a ball joint on the back of the mirror. Should be easy right? It's NOT a ball joint. It just looks like one. It is a piece of plastic. I spent more time trying to get the dumb thing looking in the right direction than I did installing it. Definitely would not recommend

            Mirrors work perfect

I was a little worried after reading the post about them moving in the wind, but if you tighten them down, they work. Had some trouble taking the windshield bracket bolts out. I used a torch to break them lose.
