      Review & Installation Video

I'm Ryan from, and this is my review and installation of the Rugged Ridge bumper-mounted light bar, fitting all 2007 and up JKs. Today, we're going to talk through the installation of this light bar, which I am going to give a two out of three wrenches. There is some drilling to get this installed on your 2011 and up JK. If you do have an '07 to '10, there's no drilling. But again, we're going to stick with two out of three wrenches on this. The whole installation shouldn't take you more than two hours to complete, even with that drilling. But we'll talk more about the install in just a second. We're also going to talk through the construction and a few of the features of this light bar. This is a light bar in the more traditional sense, as it is a bar that's designed to mount lights on. Of course, this is not going to be your more modern LED light bar. This is for those of you who like your factory plastic front bumper that's already on your JK from the factory, you don't need or want to upgrade it and spend a lot more money. However, you do want a spot to mount some additional auxiliary lights on your Jeep and also change up the look of your front bumper. This is going to bolt on pretty easily onto that front bumper area of your Jeep. As I said before, if you do have a newer JK, you will have to drill a couple of holes. But either way, it's going to be an easy install and it's definitely going to save you a lot of money over going with an aftermarket front bumper. Now, those bumpers are going to have some additional features that you're not going to get by just adding this auxiliary light bar. But if all you're looking to add is lights, this is going to be a less expensive option. This bar is made of steel and it's covered in a textured, black powder-coat finish. So it's going to match a lot of those other aftermarket accessories, or even those factory black plastic accents that are on your Jeep right off the assembly line. This is going to come with the bar that you see here, as well as the mounting brackets and all the hardware that you need to get this installed on your Jeep. You can mount 3 7-inch auxiliary lights or 2 10-inch auxiliary lights, and of course you can mount some smaller light pods if you choose to do so. Like I said, we are going to give this a two out of three wrenches, because there is some drilling involved in getting this installed on your Jeep if you have a 2011 and newer JK. The drilling is fairly minor. But again, that is going to bump it into that two out of three-wrench area. You can still get this done in about two hours or less, even with the drilling. So the install will still be pretty straightforward. You will bolt the brackets onto the crash bar of your Jeep, and this is where you'll have to do that drilling if you have a newer JK. Finally, you can install this light bar on those brackets that you just bolted up. This is something that can be done with just some traditional hand tools. Although, if you do have one of those newer Jeeps, you are going to have to have your drill and some good, sharp drill bits handy. This light bar comes in at right around $110, and I think that is a fair price for what you're getting. This is a high-quality and easy to install light bar that's going to allow you to add those auxiliary lights without spending all of the additional money that you would have to spend for an aftermarket front bumper. So if you're looking to add some auxiliary lights onto the front of your Jeep, but you don't want to change out your factory front bumper, this is going to be an inexpensive and easy to install way to do so. So that's my review of the Rugged Ridge bumper-mounted light bar, fitting all 2007 and up JKs, that you can find right here at

        Doesn't fit.

Says it will fit my 2018 Wrangler JK 2 door, but the upper valance is too long. Not sure if I want to remove the valance, cut it, or send the light bar back.

        Rugged Ridge light bar mount

Solid mount,no movement after all hardware is tightened. My only gripe directions poorly written. the top plastic trim between the bumper and grill needs to be shifted to the left or right. DO NOT remove. You will never be able to reinstall. Move plastic trim as far as you can to one side, then install mounting plate to frame. Next move plastic trim in the other direction and install other mounting plate to frame.

        Looks great!

Installation is simple. Had to remove a plastic shield off of the 16' Jeep Wrangler Unlimited behind front bumper to accommodate however.
