on the rough country 4' suspension lift for 89 wrangler do you have to buy longer brake lines ?

batmen803

  • This kit includes brake line relocation brackets, so purchasing new brake lines is not required. If you intend to do major crawling at full articulation, upgrading to longer lines would be a worth while investment.

    It looks good.

Installation was as it should be, fairly straight forward, all the pieces were there. I know I have a leaf sprung Jeep but the ride is very stiff, not like "factory" but I expected this especially with leaf springs and a less expesive lift. One thing of note however was the transfer case drop made it hard to use reverse even after grinding the floor more than they said you need to. I installed the transfer case cv joint kit and it's good now without the drop.

A solid lift for a great price

This really was a complete kit in one package. The step by step directions were good and fairly easy to follow. I felt the quality of the hardware and the springs was good. This kit also included the shocks, drop pitman arm, sway bar links, trac-bar mounts, and skid plate spacers. Once installed drive shaft angles looked good and no vibration felt. The ride is solid but not too rough. I feel this is a great lift kit was an even better price.

    Wicked awesome

Only took a few hours to install with a friend of mine. Easy set up, everything bolted together perfect. My 95 wrangler had seen many winters in Maine so the old rust had played a factor but nonetheless it was a great set up and looks great. I've got the 2.5l auto 3spd so I'll only put 33's on it till I can do a full axle, engine and trans swap.

    RC 4in lift kit

Love the lift. Everything went together just like it should. My yj really needed it. A little rough on the road but great off roading. One bad thing was the kit does not come with new outside leaf spring bolts.

    4" lift kit

Not a bad overall kit. But the additional hardware pack as some of my old ones were welded in place and had to be cut off. I have no experience in mechanics so it took longer than it probably should. Looks awesome and handles well.

    Great product

Super easy bolt on instillation rides great on and off road. A little harsh on the bumps but that's expected in a jeep. It is defiantly worth the money

    Excellent lift for the money.

I installed this lift in my driveway. For the most part everything went as the instructions said. There were some small issues that I ran into but overall it was easy and efficient. You will probably need to buy a new set of bushings for your frame and I had to use the original U bolts on the front because the ones that came with the kit didn't fit on my 94 YJ. Everything else was great. I also took extreme terrain's recommendations and did the SYE and CV drive shaft. So far so good.

Everything bolted right up to my yj except for one hole you had to drill. The new shocks give you a nice ride for off roading. Overall great product.

    Great product

Very satisfied with this suspension. Didn't realize how bad the old suspension was. Great off road & better on road than old suspension. Long day of installation. When working on a 20 year old 1995 wrangler had a hard time getting old components removed. As far as installing suspension, no problems.

    Great for your money

I am overall very happy with my purchase. This is the first lift kit I have purchased. For $450 you can beat the price for the product compared to the other brands out there. I saved around 300 dollars by purchasing a Rough Country lift kit. Shipping was great as well as I received the kit from the manufacturer within about a week. The only issue I have is that part # 7593 kit bag that contained 6 - 9/16" x 3" conical bolts (for the transfer case drop brackets) were not in any of the boxes when I received it. I called the customer service # and I'm currently awaiting the bolts to arrive.
