This RedRock 4x4 Stubby Front Bumper with Winch Mount and Stinger and LED Lights is for those of you that have a 2007 to 2018 JK that are looking for a stubby bumper that has a ton of features packed into it all at a very fair price. This is a bumper that will install pretty easily onto your Jeep. I'm gonna give it a two out of three wrenches only because of the wiring necessary to get these lights worked out. But other than that, the bumper will bolt directly onto your Jeep. And we'll talk a little bit more about the installation in just a second. Now, this is going to be a stubby front bumper, so a lot of you guys are gonna be installing it because you're running a 37-inch tire, you're having some clearance issues between your factory front bumper and that big tire. Others are just going to wanna run a stubby bumper because you like the look of it, and that's perfectly okay, too. This does give your Jeep a very utility look, a very off-road style and look to it. Like I said, this also has a ton of other features that I'm gonna get into in just a second. Overall, I think RedRock 4x4 does a really nice job of balancing quality and price, so I think you're going to get a ton of features in a nice, compact, good-looking package all for a very fair price. So like I said I think this is a very well-built package. This is .16-inch thick steel. It's a .12-inch wall thickness, 2-inch diameter, 2 for the stinger, covered in a textured black powder coat finish. It's gonna look good. It's gonna hold up well, resisting rust and corrosion. So, overall, again, a pretty nice little package here. But what I really like about this is all of the features. As it says in the name, winch mount, lights, stinger. It's got a lot going on. So usually when you have a stinger bumper, there's not a lot of space there. You're not going to get to reuse your factory fog lights. And that's the case with this bumper. However, this does give you a set of LED lights that are going to be able to be used in place of those factory fogs if you choose to. You can really switch them in a variety of different ways, but they're gonna be included with the bumper. And they install right inside of the bumper, making for a really seamless installation.Right next to those lights, you're gonna have some D-ring mounts. They're gonna need to be welded and bolted directly onto the frame, giving you a really strong recovery point. And this also does come with the D-rings, which, while it's not a make or break reason to buy this bumper over another one, it is nice you have that convenience. You don't have to remember to buy something extra.Right in the middle of the bumper of course you have your winch mount. This will hold up to a 12,000-pound winch, and you have the slot in the center for your fairlead. This is also going to sink the winch down a little bit, giving you a little bit of a sleeker look from the front, which is something I really like. And then, of course, this has a stinger on it as well. Now, originally, a stinger was there so if you're coming down a really steep obstacle, the Jeep starts to flip forward on you. It's gonna hit the stinger which will kick it to one side or the other, putting you back down on the tires. It was also there in case you were to roll over or flop completely on your lid, the weight of the vehicle would be held up by the stinger and not crush the radiator, so you could just flip the Jeep back over again and keep cruising. Now, this is going to be more of a style thing than anything else. This doesn't have a ton of gussets on it. It's not going to add a ton of additional strengths. So it's not really going to be able to stand up to all that abuse. But if you do like the look of a stinger, this is certainly going to provide that. So, as you can see, this thing has a ton of features built into a nice, compact, stubby bumper, and all at a very fair price. I think this is a really nice choice for you. This bumper's gonna run you $450. That includes the lights, includes the stinger, the winch mount, everything that you see here. And I've said it a couple of times that I do think that's a very fair price for what you're getting. A lot of stubby bumpers certainly leaving some stuff out because there's not a lot of real estate. I think this packs a ton of great features into a nice, compact piece that's still really well-built and it still looks good so I think this is a very fairly-priced package. So, like I said, two out of three wrenches only because of the wiring necessary on this bumper. The first step is going to be removing your factory bumper. You're gonna remove the splash shield and also your frame cover. You're going to remove the factory fog light sockets from the housings, unbolt the bumper, remove it from the Jeep. Then you're going to do some assembly on your new bumper. You're going to get the stinger bolted onto the new bumper. It's just gonna be easier to get to those bolts while the bumper is on the ground or on a table than after it's already been installed on the Jeep. If you are installing a winch on this bumper, I'd also recommend bolting the winch onto the bumper as well. Again, makes it easier to get to those mounting bolts. The whole package, of course, is gonna be heavier once the stinger and the winch are mounted onto the bumper, but I do think it's worth it to not have to fight with those bolts. Once you have everything bolted onto this bumper, it's just a matter of setting it over the frame horns and bolting it onto the Jeep. Once that's done, you'll have to get into the wiring, and this is where you have a couple different options with how you can switch these. If you wanted to tap into the factory fog light system, you can do that. These are not going to be as focused. They're not going to be a fog beam like your factory lights are, so I still wouldn't recommend using these while you're rolling down the road with oncoming traffic. But if you're on a dark back road and you're off-road, you're going to still be able to use these. And since you're not using that fog light switch, that factory fog light switch for anything else anyway, wiring these to that could be a viable option for you. If you have another switch panel, you have other switches available, you can go ahead and wire them to that. Really up to you.So if you're looking for a stubby front bumper with a ton of features, I definitely recommend this option from RedRock 4x4, and you can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.
