If your tie rod has seen better days and you're in search of an affordable replacement for your 2007 to 2018 JK Wrangler, this RedRock replacement tie rod kit will be a great solution. Now the factory tie rod is not bulletproof, so this will serve as a great replacement if you started to notice some play in your steering due to worn-out ball joints from larger wheels and tires or just normal wear and tear. This kit will tighten everything up for the JK owner looking to do some maintenance and who isn't looking to completely upgrade to a heavy-duty option if they're not wheeling their JK hard or have a super-heavy wheel and tire setup that could cause any accelerated wear. Now this will improve your handling and performance with durable ball joints on either side. Now, this tie rod cable will also remain fully adjustable and carry over some of the factory features that your factory one did requiring no modification to the knuckles, and it's going to have a factory-like fit. Now I would like to mention, though, after you do install this, you will need to take your Jeep to go get an alignment. This again will be a factory-like replacement made of a steel construction. Now tie rod ends will also have factory-style ball joints and keep the same color adjustments to make it very easy when it comes to alignment. Not to mention, this will come with everything that you need in the kit for the install, including new castle nuts and cotter pins. This will come in at roughly $200 for the kit being an incredibly affordable option. Now compared to other choices, again, this is gonna keep it simple and straightforward with a replacement OE setup. Now others on the page may be made of a chromoly material, have a larger size tubing, or have HD ball joints for, again, those heavy wheel and tire setups like a 37" and larger. And you're most likely going to be doing some harder or more technical wheeling with those larger setups. Now those other bulkier choices, because of their size, will usually require a little bit of modification or other components as where this is not going to have that. So, I think if you don't need the extra strength or all of those added bells and whistles, you just need a solid and an affordable replacement for your JK, then this is it.Now install will be a two outta three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about three hours to get the job done. Now when it comes to install, you will have to remove the steering stabilizer from the bracket, remove the cotter pins and the castle nuts, and tap out the ball joints on either size. Now, I would recommend pre-adjusting your new tie rod to the old specs, and then you can attach each side, tighten down to spec, and install the new cotter pins as well as your steering stabilizer, and then you'll be all wrapped up. However, that is going to wrap it up for my review of the RedRock Replacement Tie Rod kit fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. And remember, for all things Jeep, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
