Hey, guys. So, today we're checking out the RedRock 4x4 Cowl Body Armor, fitting all 2018 and newer JL Wranglers. So, if you're looking for some small but noticeable and affordable modifications for your JL, this is going to be a great choice to take a look into. So, a cowl cover is great for a number of different reasons. First off, it can add some extra styling to the front of your JL, but it's also going to act as a little bit of protection. So, when you're taking off your doors and your limiting strap and your harness is off, your door has the ability to swing all the way out, and sometimes your mirror can catch your cowl and cause some damage there. Now, that is the infamous cowl dimple, and a good way to prevent that, or a good way to cover that up, is to add a cover on the side. Now, this option by RedRock is going to have a diamond-plated look to it, adding some extra aggressive and off-road style, and it's gonna match with any other heavy-duty accessories, even though it's made of a thermoplastic construction. Now, that's going to be UV-treated, so it is gonna be able to hold up to the sun as well as anything on the trail as far as branches and brush is concerned, and it's held on by a heavy-duty automotive tape, so you can ensure that it's not going anywhere. Now, that is the infamous cowl dimple, and a great way to cover one up, or a great way to prevent any future damage on your cowl, is to get a cowl cover. Now, this is going to be made of a heavy-duty thermoplastic construction. It does have a really good fit sitting on the cowl area there. It's gonna have cutouts at the bottom for the bolts on the side, and it's also going to be UV-treated, so you can ensure that it's going to hold up for the long run, not only to the sun but also for any branches or brush on the trail. Now, this is gonna be held on by heavy-duty 3M automotive-grade tape, so you can also ensure that it's not going anywhere. And I do really like the fact that this does have a diamond-plated look that's gonna add some extra styling and match with any other heavy-duty accessories. Now, as far as pricing is concerned, again, this is going to be a very affordable mod, coming in at roughly $25. Now, there are other options for cowl covers on the page. However, they're usually just going to differ within their styling or even their finish. So, this is going to be more of a matte finish. Some other options may not include the diamond plate look, they may just have a just bare finish, or they will have more of a textured finish or even a gloss finish. Now, that really comes down to your personal preference in design. However, I personally think if you're looking for an aggressive cowl cover that's going to offer that functionality, style, and protection, this is going to be a great and affordable choice. So, it's also going to be very easy. Like I told you guys, this is gonna be stuck on with 3M tape, so we don't have a lot going on as far as the install is concerned. I'm gonna give it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you no time at all to get these installed. So, speaking of the install, let me run you through that right now.So, your first step to this install is just to make sure that the area that you're attaching the cowl cover to is clean. I would recommend hitting it with an alcohol wipe just to make sure that there's nothing that is going to mess up the adhesion process for when we put on the 3M tape. So, after that is done, all you have to do is just peel back the backing on the 3M tape. So, once all of the backing is off, what we can do, on this side we're gonna have to go behind the antenna. I'm just gonna pull it back just to make sure that we have it in place. There are gonna be holes on the side to make sure that it lines up with the bolts. I'm just gonna try to center it around the bolts. Now, you don't wanna press on it. At first, you just wanna make sure that it's lined up, and then we can give it a good press for about 30 seconds. After you give it a good press, you can repeat that process on the other side, and then you'll be all set to go.So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install.
