Merideth: If you want a one-stop shop for lighting that's going to transform the look and the light output of your 2007 to 2018 JK Wrangler, these LED DRL Projector Headlights and the Fog Lights with the Black Housing and the Clear Lens will be a great pick. Now, this set will be great for the JK owner who is in search of a dynamic set of headlights paired with a matching fog light to modernize the front end, especially if you're tired of the factory styling or the look of the incandescent bulbs. Now, speaking of the bulbs, this system will outshine the factory ones, which will be beneficial both if your headlights and your fog lights aren't cutting it when it comes to visibility on dark roads or trails. Now, starting off with the headlights, these will feature a bugeye or a multiple smaller projector design which will set it apart from the rest when it comes to the style but also offer a clear and consistent beam pattern for really good visibility. Now, the fog lights will follow suit with a tri-bar projector which will do the same thing all while boasting a bright 6000k color temperature which cleans up the appearance of the lighting. Now, both will have a black housing with a clear lens to offer more of that stealthy effect without compromising any lighting performance, and the headlights will have a riveted border for more aggressive and heavy-duty look. Now, all four lights are going to be tough with an ABS plastic and diecast aluminum housing for good durability and heat dispersion at the same time. Now, the fronts of the lights will include a tough impact-resistant lens and all of the lights will also have an IP67 dust and waterproof rating, so you won't have to worry about any trail dust or any splashing potentially fogging up or harming the LEDs inside. Now, the entire set will also be DOT and SAE-approved as well as mostly plug-and-play, there is a little bit of simple wiring and we'll show you how to do that in just a second. Now, this entire kit is going to be very affordable at about $225. Now, in the world of lighting, usually, these two will be sold separately. But the fact that this is going to be a complete package at an affordable price point while boasting a lot of quality and uniqueness in the design is very noteworthy. Now, again, I think if you're looking for a set of lights that's going to elevate the look and function of your JK all included in one kit, then this is a great set to choose. Now, like I mentioned, this is going to include a little bit of wiring, so I'm going to give it a lighter two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, but it should only take you about two hours to get the job done with some pretty basic hand tools. Now, at this point, we can head over to the shop and check out the detailed breakdown of what that install looks like step by step. That's going to wrap it up for me. Let's go ahead and get into it.Man 1: For this install, you will need a clip removal tool, long Phillips and stubby Phillips head screwdrivers, a wire stripper, and crimper. And for ease of install, you'll want to get some male and female spade connector. What's up, guys? Today we're going to be installing some new headlights on our Wrangler. And before we do that, we're going to send you to watch a short video on how to uninstall your factory headlights, and we'll see you when you get back.Man 2: So, this is a relatively easy install since there's only a few screws that hold these headlights in. However, we do need to remove our stock grille. So we're going to pop our hood open so we can access the plastic retainers that hold that in. So, we're gonna have six of these plastic retainers across the top of your grille. They're really easy to remove, we're going to use a flathead screwdriver to pop up the center and pull the whole thing out.So, the top of the grille is free. However, the bottom of the grille is held in with a few metal clips. The way we're going to remove that, we're just going to tug out on that and that whole thing will disconnect. After we do that, we're going to pull this grille away, and we'll disconnect our lights. So, we're going to turn these until they unlock, let those hang there. Do the same thing for the other side. Just turn these till they unlock, and we'll pull this grille away. So, the next step, we're going to remove the four small screws that hold this chrome ring in here, which is holding our light in. We're going to use a T15 Torx to remove those. One thing you want to make sure you do is keep a hand on it while you're removing the screws because it will just fall out on you. So, to unplug these, we're going to press back on this red locking tab. Once that's all the way up, we can press down on our release and unplug our light.Man 1: All righty, guys, welcome back. Now that we've shown you how to remove your factory headlights, we can go ahead and get started with installing our new ones. And the first step in that is going to be assembling our harness for LED headlights. And we're going to start with our adapter harness that plugs into your headlight. Go ahead and click that into the three-prong side, and this will plug into your factory connector. Now, we can go ahead and connect our harness to our factory connector. And go ahead and push in our red safety tab just like that. And then we can go ahead and tap into our marker light harness for our DRLs. So, your kit does come with a T-tap and spade connectors for this process of the installation. Ours has already been done with sway connectors all the way through, so we're just going to stick with that process, but it's essentially the same. So, we're going to go ahead and start by grabbing our wire strippers and crimpers and strip off some of our sheathing to our marker light wire. And then we're going to go ahead and add our female spade connector. Go ahead and slide that in. And then we can crimp that into place. And then, like I said, ours is already tapped in, but if you're looking to tap into your marker light wire, that is going to be your white and green wire on your marker light harness. So, we'll go ahead and plug that in. And then you'll want to run your wire behind your headlight bezel housing, just so it doesn't get crimped up in the way when we reinstall it. And we'll go ahead and plug that into the red wire on our headlight that already has a female spade connector on it, and your male spade connector will already be on your wire when it comes in your kit. And then we can go ahead and tuck our harness back and set our headlight into place. And you want to have your DOT/SAE writing up top so your headlight is facing the right way. And we'll grab our retaining ring. Get that oriented correctly like so. And then we'll go ahead and start reinstalling our screws. Now we can go ahead and grab our Phillips head screwdriver and start tightening our screws back down. We can go ahead and get our bottom two into place. Now that you've done this, you can go ahead and repeat this process for the other side and then we can move on to our fog light. So, next we're going to go ahead and remove our factory fog light. It's a very simple process, just kind of hard to see it. Your fog light housing is held in by four screws on the backside of your bumper. And all you need is a stubby screwdriver to fill in there, and go ahead and remove those four screws and disconnect your fog light connector. And then we're going to go ahead and tap into that harness, which is only two wires, and we'll show you how that goes, and then go ahead and attach our new fog lights. So, first we can go ahead and reach back in here and unplug our fog light connector, just push on the little tab here. And go ahead and pull that off. And then we'll use our stubby Phillips head screwdriver to go ahead and remove our mounting screws located on the backside of our bumper here. Once you have your screws out, now yours should have four, ours has been previously modified, so there's only two in there, so you can go ahead and remove your factory fog light. So, now we can go ahead and grab our harness for our fog light and we're going to need to do some simple wiring here as well. We're going to go ahead with spade connectors as ours already have them on it. And this is the easiest way to retain stock function if you ever wish to go back to your stock form. So, we're going to grab our wire strippers and crimpers. Go ahead and remove some sheathing from our wires. And then we can go ahead and add our spade connector to each wire and set that in place. Give it a nice crimp. And do the same thing for your red wire. And go ahead and give them a firm little tug just to make sure your connections are secure. Now, ours already have female connectors on our factory harness side, so we're just going to go ahead and plug those in.So, we're going to go ahead and remove our factory harness here. As I mentioned, it's already been spade-connected, but your red wire for your new harness is going to go to the white with red stripe wire here, and the black will, obviously, go back to the black wire. And again, this makes it easy to revert back to stock if you ever want to go back. So, we'll take our red, bump that into our white with red stripe wire, and black to black for ground.Next, we can go ahead and install our new fog light and make our connection. So, now we're ready to go ahead and set our new fog light into place. So, we'll go ahead and just slide that back in, and make sure it lines up straight with our factory housing. And grab one of our screws and our stubby screwdriver and go ahead and get that into place. We, kind of, just have to have a feel for it. It's a little bit tricky, so you're going to have to have a little bit of patience and then just go for it. Once you have one in, you can go ahead, it'll stay in place. Go ahead and get your other screws in. Once you have your mounting screws in, we can go ahead and plug in our harness. And you can go ahead and repeat this process for the other side. All righty, guys, that about wraps up our review and install of our LED DRL Headlights and Fog Lights with Black Housing and Clear Lenses for your '07 to '18 Jeep Wrangler JK. Thanks for watching. And as always, for everything Wrangler, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
