The Bestop Trektop NX in Black Diamond is for those of you that have a '97 to 2006 TJ that are looking for a very high quality and very functional aftermarket soft top. Now, whether you currently have a hard top on your Jeep and you're looking for a full setup, hardware, frame, brackets, everything you need, or maybe you already have a soft top on your Jeep but you're looking for something that has a little different functionality than the factory and also a different look, then this top is going to be an excellent option for you. This is gonna be a very-easy-to-install top. It's going to be a one-out-of-three-wrench installation that shouldn't really take you more than an hour, maybe two hours, depending on how tight the top is when it comes outta the box, but we'll talk more about that installation in just a second. Everybody knows about the factory soft top that you're going be able to remove the three rear windows and you're going to be able to fold that top down into the trunk space of your Jeep. This is gonna be a little bit different and this is going to give you a fastback look. So the rear window of the Jeep is going to have a little bit of a slant to it, changing the profile look of the Jeep, really giving you that aftermarket styling. However, it's not going to have a full frame that folds down into the trunk. This is just going to have a smaller frame than the front area of the Jeep that gives you something more akin to the Sunrider feature on the JK, where you can very easily unclip that front section and flip it back, and give you and your front-seat passenger an open-air driving experience, but it leaves the top up in the back. Again, this does not fold fully down into the trunk space. There's also the Bestop Trektop that is not going to have that Sunrider feature and is not going to have removable windows. The NX has that Sunrider feature and you can remove the three windows. Now, as far as soft tops goes, this one is going to be a little bit more expensive than some of the other ones out there because of the functionality and the incredibly high quality that you're getting when you buy a soft top from Bestop. This top is going to be made very, very well. It's going to be made similar to a premium OE top that you would get on your Jeep in that black diamond material. Everything is going to be stitched very strong, it's going to hold up very, very well even out in the weather year-round. As far as construction goes, you're not going to find a top on the market that is as well-built as a Bestop top is. So this is going to come with, of course, the top, it also comes with the three windows, the frame mechanism that you need to fold back that Sunrider feature, and all of the other hardware that you need to get this thing installed on your Jeep. It really is a complete package that's going to give you some great functionality, give you a great look, and really change your Jeep up so it doesn't look like every other one that's rolled off the assembly line. So I mentioned before, this is gonna be a one-out-of-three-wrench installation that will probably take you around an hour, maybe a little bit more the first time you get this thing installed. This is going to come with all the parts you need, which does make it a little bit easier. Now, the one thing I can tell you to speed up the install is to do this on a day when it's warm out. If you have a chance to, throw the top out in your front yard. Let it bake in the sun for an hour or so before you install it. That's gonna loosen everything up and make it that much easier to get it onto your Jeep. Now, the first step of the installation is going to be removing whatever else you may currently have on your Jeep, as far as a top goes. Get rid of your hard top, remove your soft top and all of the hardware that comes with it. You're gonna start from scratch with everything that's in the box here. The first step is going to be installing the door surrounds that come with the top and also the tailgate clips on the rear of the tub. Once that's done, you can assemble the bow assembly that's gonna give you that Sunrider feature and attach that to the soft fabric material. Then, you can clip the Sunrider feature onto the brackets that are on those door surrounds and use the additional straps to make sure the rest of the top is held in place. From there, it's just a matter of zippering in your windows and you're finished. This top's gonna run you right around $650 and that is gonna be a little bit more than some of the others on the market. I mentioned before, with this top, you get a very high quality of build. You get a lot of functionality, you're getting all the parts you need. It's not as though you have to buy this, oh, and buy X, Y, and Z. Everything comes in the box here, so I really do think that it's worth it for the package that you're getting. If you want a top that's gonna be less expensive, we have those available as well, but remember, you're probably going to be losing out on a little bit of build quality and/or you may have to purchase some additional pieces to make it work. So if you're looking for a very high quality fastback-style soft top for your TJ, I definitely recommend the Bestop Trektop NX, and you can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.

Jim H, 2010 Jeep Wrangler JKWeb Development My dad would always take me trail riding in the Pine Barrens as a kid when I lived in South Jersey, so I’ve always been into four wheel drive trucks and Jeeps. When the time came for me to get a vehicle, I picked up an old Cherokee. I still have that old Jeep strictly for offroading, but after a few...
