    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com and this is my review of the Barricade Mirror Relocation Kit fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This kit is available in the textured black powder coated finish that you see here and it's also available in a gloss black powder coat. There are a few different options when you are trying to retain your rear view mirrors when driving doorless. You can either install a quick release mirror bracket on the A pillar of your Jeep and take the mirrors on and off every time you install and uninstall your doors. Another option would be to get a mirror that doesn't have a bracket and that just sits in the factory door hinge, and again, every time you take the door on and off, you have to install and uninstall that mirror. I really like a setup like this because it permanently moves your factory mirror from the door onto the A pillar of the Jeep, which helps to eliminate that additional step of installing and uninstalling the mirrors every time you take the doors on and off. Now, unfortunately with a setup like this, if you have power mirrors or heated mirrors, you are going to lose that functionality. So, if you're somebody who's in that boat and you want to retain that function, maybe one of those other options I talked about would be a better fit. However, Barricade did a really nice job of overcoming one of the other shortfalls of a mirror setup like this. Traditionally when you install the mirrors on the A pillar, because you move them forward a little bit, it can be hard to see the passenger side rear view mirror from the driver's seat. What Barricade did was make the passenger side fully adjustable to three different locations to ensure that you can see that mirror even from a comfortable seated position in the driver's seat. Overall I think this is a really well put together kit that's less expensive than some of the other ones on the market, and has even more functions. These relocation brackets are made of steel and they're coated in either a textured black powder coat finish or a gloss black powder coat finish, so you can choose whatever matches your build. They come with these block off plates to cover the factory locations where the mirrors would mount in your doors. They come with the brackets that go on the A pillar and gaskets to go between the metal of the bracket and the painted surface of your Jeep to keep it from chafing and ruining the paint. With a setup like this you do use your factory mirrors, which helps to keep the cost down a little bit over some of those quick release setups that have both a bracket and a mirror. The installation of this mirror relocation kit is really straightforward. The first step in the process is to remove the factory mirror brackets and mirrors from the inside of the door. Once those are removed, you can install the block off plates that come in this kit. After that you'll remove the two Torx bolts out of the windshield hinges in order to install the new relocation brackets into place using the gaskets that are included. After that, it's as simple as reinstalling the factory mirrors onto the new brackets and adjusting the passenger side bracket so that you can comfortably see the mirror. The whole installation process shouldn't take you more than two hours, and you won't need any specialty tools, just some Torx bits. This kit is priced really fairly for what you get. Between the gaskets, the block off plates, your choice of finishes, and the adjustability of the passenger side mirror, I think you get a lot of features, and it's definitely worth the price. So, if you want to stay both legal and safe when driving without your doors on, and you're somebody who either doesn't mind losing the power functions of their factory mirrors or doesn't have them to start with, I think this is a really nice kit that saves you an extra step every time you take your doors on and off. So, that's my review of the Barricade Mirror Relocation Kit fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Relocates Mirrors From Door To Body. If you love driving your Jeep Wrangler around in the summer months without the doors on, a Barricade Off-Road Mirror Relocation Kit will relocate the stock mirrors from the doors to the windshield frame keeping you street legal and improve your range of visibility at the same time.

    Unrestricted Field of View.
The Barricade Off-Road mirror relocation kit features an adjustable three position passenger side bracket for a clear field of view "with or without" the factory full doors installed. Unlike other manufactures relocation kits that partially block vision making them extremely unsafe for everyday daily driving.

Heavy Duty Construction. Manufactured from heavy duty stainless steel for strength these Barricade Off-Road Relocation Brackets are completed in a durable textured black powder coat finish for aggressive good looks and corrosion resistance.

Easy, Bolt-on Installation. The Barricade Off-Road Mirror Relocation Kit is engineered to be a direct bolt-on upgrade using just basic hand tools, so there is no drilling or cutting required for a clean straight forward installation.

    Application.
This Barricade Off-Road Mirror Relocation Kit is specifically designed for use on all 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models. Both driver and passenger side brackets are included.

Application Note. This Barricade Off-Road Mirror Relocation Kit reuses the factory manual mirrors. The kit will not be compatible with factory power or heated mirrors.

Does the mirror relocation kit work with power mirrors? I bought the kit, and dont see how it will work with them on a 2016 Rubicon,

    • The Barricade Mirror Relocation Kit - Textured Black (07-17 Wrangler JK) is not designed to retain use of heated or electric mirrors.

After installing this is there any problem opening the door? Will the door bump into the mirror in the mirror's new location? Thank you.

    • The Barricade Textured Black Mirror Relocation Kit is designed so the door will not bump into the mirror as long as the door straps are attached to the door.

My 07 mirrors will not fit it the relocation bracket. Only go about 1/2 way in. Both sides have same problem. The bracket hole is either too small or the 07 mirrors are bigger than other years. I thought I might be able to screw it down but the bolt is not long enough to reach due to mirror not seating all of the way. Any hints?

is their a kit like this one available with the extenders for the mirrors on both sides, for towing travel trailer. would be great if both sides extended out, no one has this set up.

Will OPR Replacement Mirrors work with these Barricade Relocation Brackets. I have one OPR replacement mirror (left side) and one factory mirror (right side), so need to know if brackets will fit both mirrors.

    • The Barricade Textured Black Mirror Relocation Kit - Pair (07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK) is compatible with the original equipment factory mirrors and aftermarket mirrors made to those specifications. OPR replacement mirrors will be compatible with these brackets.  Please note power or heated mirrors are not compatible.

Is there any way I can order a driver side bracket with the extension.i have different mirrors that work with the extension. 1 answer
Got the kit installed, works pretty well! I cut my power mirror wires and taped them off incase I ever want to have them connected again. Dont really care about the power mirror option as the relocation benefit outweighs the power. One issue I see is the passenger side is vibrating big time and shaking the mirror. I have it in the 2nd hole of extender but I actually planned to move it out further to the 3rd. Everything is super tight. I think if I stuff something rubber in there it should help. Anyone fixed this with a good solution? 1 answer
I purchased this for my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and then purchased some manual mirrors to put in since my mirrors are powered. Noticed that the metric bolt that came from the manufacturer doesn't fit inside the hole cover for the door. I am guessing the threads are made for a standard bolt. Also the bolt wasn't long enough for me to actually use to bolt the mirror to the frame. I had to go purchase a longer bolt to even be able to get it to thread correctly. Is this normal? Did I just get some faulty product? 1 answer
This question has been asked several times - but not answered. Simplified - where do the wires from the power/heated mirrors go when the mirror case - to which they are attached - is relocated? The wires do not have a plug -that I can find- that is short enough to tuck into the mirror case. The only plug I've found is under the dash, several feet from the mirror case and way to long to store in the case. If the plug even fits through the door mount hole. The videos show non powered mirrors. Might I suggest you actually try to relocate powered mirrors and share how it's done? If it can be done. 1 answer
I purchased the Barricade mirror relocation kit. It stated that you will lose the functionality of the power/heated mirrors, which is fine, however, I do not see a way to use the mirrors that I already have. Is there a way to remove the wire from the mirror or am I now supposed to buy new mirrors without power to be able to use the brackets? 1 answer

      Mirror Relocation

These mounts were solid and quick to install but, I couldn't deal with the appearance of having the passenger side mirror so far away from the door compared to the driver side mirror. The product looked great was well made and did what it said it would do.

      Street legal mirrors without doors

After installing I have allot of vibration and once going about 60 to 70 mph they fold in or move up and down I tighten them up but was afraid to strip bolts out, because instructions say do not over tighten.

Bare spots in the paint, passenger side bounces a lot while going down the rode . I still Ike them and won’t take them off .they are a little hard to get started , had to use a longer bolt to compress the mirror into the socket , thought I was going to strip the threads out.

      No visibility

As soon as I took the parts out of the box, they were scratched up and obviously used, so my first impression wasn't fantastic. Knowing they would be even more scratched up soon enough, I installed them anyway. The positioning of these is all wonky, with little room to adjust. As a driver, I had nearly zero visibility on the passenger side of the Jeep and couldn't maneuver the mirrors to make up for it. I'm returning these and trying another brand.

Haven't been able to use these yet

The bolt that hold the stock mirror to the stock arm is not long enough to go through these brackets. I need to find a longer bolt to make them work. Odd they wouldn't supply the longer bolt or maybe design the brackets to work with the stock bolts from the stock mirrors.

      Built well, designed poorly

The relocation kit works and they install without incident, BUT... the way the kits are designed I don't fully trust them. It needs a longer screw to install the mirror to the arm. As well as a few washers and maybe a big crush washer to help vibration more and fill in the gaps inside the arm. My 30min, 1 hour install turned into 2 hours as I drove to the hardware store to buy the parts I needed to make this kit trustworthy on pennsylvania roads because I might as well be rock crawling with how bumpy it is in the pothole Poconos

      Great product!

This product is really great with one exception, the passenger side really shakes. This is fixed very easy by drilling and placing another bolt on the side of the bracket and now it is solid as a rock. Overall great look and other than the very minor shake issue these are awesome.

      Great product

The relocation brackets were super easy to install. The hardest part was removing the old mirrors out of the old brackets. I ended up having to buy new side mirrors. Once those were installed you get a little better view out of the passenger side but it still feels blocked. I also went and bought the blind spot mirrors to cover what I felt was missing. But nothing beats the freedom of removing those doors and not having to worry about not mirrors

The driver's side is perfect and the passenger side not that great. To resolve a bad myth, the doors do NOT hit the mirrors. I do like the mirrors off the doors.

Install was simple and easy. They are really wide on the jeep. They look like Dodge pickup tow mirrors. They work though, it's nice to be legal and topless. Have not tried it with the doors back on (who has doors on jeep in summer?)

      What I was looking for

Is what I was looking for. Passenger side mirror is visible with doors on. Passenger side extender seems to lean down a bit, but is sturdy. Almost wish there was one more hole to extend with. Driver side needs a small ratchet or similar to tighten bolts. Very tight spot. Over all, very pleased!
