    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com and this is my review of the Barricade Mirror Relocation Kit fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This kit is available in the textured black powder coated finish that you see here and it's also available in a gloss black powder coat. There are a few different options when you are trying to retain your rear view mirrors when driving doorless. You can either install a quick release mirror bracket on the A pillar of your Jeep and take the mirrors on and off every time you install and uninstall your doors. Another option would be to get a mirror that doesn't have a bracket and that just sits in the factory door hinge, and again, every time you take the door on and off, you have to install and uninstall that mirror. I really like a setup like this because it permanently moves your factory mirror from the door onto the A pillar of the Jeep, which helps to eliminate that additional step of installing and uninstalling the mirrors every time you take the doors on and off. Now, unfortunately with a setup like this, if you have power mirrors or heated mirrors, you are going to lose that functionality. So, if you're somebody who's in that boat and you want to retain that function, maybe one of those other options I talked about would be a better fit. However, Barricade did a really nice job of overcoming one of the other shortfalls of a mirror setup like this. Traditionally when you install the mirrors on the A pillar, because you move them forward a little bit, it can be hard to see the passenger side rear view mirror from the driver's seat. What Barricade did was make the passenger side fully adjustable to three different locations to ensure that you can see that mirror even from a comfortable seated position in the driver's seat. Overall I think this is a really well put together kit that's less expensive than some of the other ones on the market, and has even more functions. These relocation brackets are made of steel and they're coated in either a textured black powder coat finish or a gloss black powder coat finish, so you can choose whatever matches your build. They come with these block off plates to cover the factory locations where the mirrors would mount in your doors. They come with the brackets that go on the A pillar and gaskets to go between the metal of the bracket and the painted surface of your Jeep to keep it from chafing and ruining the paint. With a setup like this you do use your factory mirrors, which helps to keep the cost down a little bit over some of those quick release setups that have both a bracket and a mirror. The installation of this mirror relocation kit is really straightforward. The first step in the process is to remove the factory mirror brackets and mirrors from the inside of the door. Once those are removed, you can install the block off plates that come in this kit. After that you'll remove the two Torx bolts out of the windshield hinges in order to install the new relocation brackets into place using the gaskets that are included. After that, it's as simple as reinstalling the factory mirrors onto the new brackets and adjusting the passenger side bracket so that you can comfortably see the mirror. The whole installation process shouldn't take you more than two hours, and you won't need any specialty tools, just some Torx bits. This kit is priced really fairly for what you get. Between the gaskets, the block off plates, your choice of finishes, and the adjustability of the passenger side mirror, I think you get a lot of features, and it's definitely worth the price. So, if you want to stay both legal and safe when driving without your doors on, and you're somebody who either doesn't mind losing the power functions of their factory mirrors or doesn't have them to start with, I think this is a really nice kit that saves you an extra step every time you take your doors on and off. So, that's my review of the Barricade Mirror Relocation Kit fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Relocates Mirrors From Door To Body. If you love driving your Jeep Wrangler around in the summer months without the doors on, a Barricade Off-Road Mirror Relocation Kit will relocate the stock mirrors from the doors to the windshield frame keeping you street legal and improve your range of visibility at the same time.

    Unrestricted Field of View.
The Barricade Off-Road mirror relocation kit features an adjustable three position passenger side bracket for a clear field of view "with or without" the factory full doors installed. Unlike other manufactures relocation kits that partially block vision making them extremely unsafe for everyday daily driving.

Heavy Duty Construction. Manufactured from heavy duty stainless steel for strength these Barricade Off-Road Relocation Brackets are completed in a durable textured black powder coat finish for aggressive good looks and corrosion resistance.

Easy, Bolt-on Installation. The Barricade Off-Road Mirror Relocation Kit is engineered to be a direct bolt-on upgrade using just basic hand tools, so there is no drilling or cutting required for a clean straight forward installation.

    Application.
This Barricade Off-Road Mirror Relocation Kit is specifically designed for use on all 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models. Both driver and passenger side brackets are included.

Application Note. This Barricade Off-Road Mirror Relocation Kit reuses the factory manual mirrors. The kit will not be compatible with factory power or heated mirrors.

After installing this is there any problem opening the door? Will the door bump into the mirror in the mirror's new location? Thank you.

        • The Barricade Textured Black Mirror Relocation Kit is designed so the door will not bump into the mirror as long as the door straps are attached to the door.

Does the mirror relocation kit work with power mirrors? I bought the kit, and dont see how it will work with them on a 2016 Rubicon,

        • The Barricade Mirror Relocation Kit - Textured Black (07-17 Wrangler JK) is not designed to retain use of heated or electric mirrors.

My 07 mirrors will not fit it the relocation bracket. Only go about 1/2 way in. Both sides have same problem. The bracket hole is either too small or the 07 mirrors are bigger than other years. I thought I might be able to screw it down but the bolt is not long enough to reach due to mirror not seating all of the way. Any hints?

Is there an adjustable bracket for the drivers side ?

        • Currently, there is not an adjustable driver side bracket.

Has anyone had an issue with the driver side mirror settling crooked? Installation went flawless but as I'm driving down the road, the mirror seems to droop towards the outside. I have tightened the bolt as much as possible...Even tried shoving some cardboard into the space/hull of the mirror itself to "prop" of the one side but to no avail. The passenger side mirror rides flawless and upright but the driver side is "drooping" Any suggestions? I'm about at my wits end and am contemplating buying a replacement mirror.

        • I would suggest contacting our customer service team, as this could be a defect in that mirror. We are here every weekday from 8:30 AM until 11 PM, and weekends until 9 PM Eastern Time.

Got the kit installed, works pretty well! I cut my power mirror wires and taped them off incase I ever want to have them connected again. Dont really care about the power mirror option as the relocation benefit outweighs the power. One issue I see is the passenger side is vibrating big time and shaking the mirror. I have it in the 2nd hole of extender but I actually planned to move it out further to the 3rd. Everything is super tight. I think if I stuff something rubber in there it should help. Anyone fixed this with a good solution? 1 answer
I purchased this for my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and then purchased some manual mirrors to put in since my mirrors are powered. Noticed that the metric bolt that came from the manufacturer doesn't fit inside the hole cover for the door. I am guessing the threads are made for a standard bolt. Also the bolt wasn't long enough for me to actually use to bolt the mirror to the frame. I had to go purchase a longer bolt to even be able to get it to thread correctly. Is this normal? Did I just get some faulty product? 1 answer
This question has been asked several times - but not answered. Simplified - where do the wires from the power/heated mirrors go when the mirror case - to which they are attached - is relocated? The wires do not have a plug -that I can find- that is short enough to tuck into the mirror case. The only plug I've found is under the dash, several feet from the mirror case and way to long to store in the case. If the plug even fits through the door mount hole. The videos show non powered mirrors. Might I suggest you actually try to relocate powered mirrors and share how it's done? If it can be done. 1 answer
I purchased the Barricade mirror relocation kit. It stated that you will lose the functionality of the power/heated mirrors, which is fine, however, I do not see a way to use the mirrors that I already have. Is there a way to remove the wire from the mirror or am I now supposed to buy new mirrors without power to be able to use the brackets? 1 answer

Better than the ones that whistle and I'm legal.

You do lose a little visabilty on the passenger side. Mine is is extended to second extension setting. I got better visablity on both sides by turning the whole housing in just a bit. You'll have to play around with it. You will need to get a longer bolt to fasten mirror to arm. I used one of the orginal bolts that held the orginal arm to the door and just got an extra bolt for the delete plate. Biggest complaint, and it's minor, is that with the passenger side extended at all, the profile is not symmetrical. Should be adjustable length on both sides.

Exactly what they're supposed to be

They look great and definitely get the job done with a much superior mirror system for no-doors. Only problem was the stock mirror didnt really fit into the bracket so we had to sand down the inside of bracket and outside of mirror to get it to sit down in the fitment.

            Stupid Simple!

Easy and quick to install! Looks excellent. The hardest part was getting the old mirror out of the original arm. You may have to loosen the bolt till it comes out far enough to tap it with a rubber mallet to break it from the seat.

            Mr. Moves a lot

The passenger mirror moves a lot when driving. I had to put in on the last hole in order to see through it and that caused it to be loose. They both move fairly easily, I was hoping they would be a little more sturdier than they were.

            Not That Great

I'm really not happy with these at all. The mirror seems to loose and if you hit a bump to hard, it will actually move the glass making you have to readjust the mirror. The hardware is garbage and they dont sit straight when in place, bot side kind of droop out instead of sitting straight and tall.

            adequate product

Not a bad product. It's a little difficult to screw in the bottom torx bolt given how the mirror arm weldment is built. There's almost no room to rotate a wrench. Additionally the passenger side is very long to reach out far eough for visibility. But that's what you with a mirror not located on the door.

            Driver side works great

On the drivers side works great. Both with the door on and off you get full function of the mirror. However even at full extension on the passenger side it is hard to use. I opted for leaving the mirror on the door of the passenger side, so I just do not have a passenger mirror when the doors are off. That works for me.

            Worth the cost

It makes the exterior casing crooked and there really isn’t a stopping point when tightening it. The tighter you go to prevent it from moving in the wind causes it to get even more crooked. The flimsy moving arm is also kind of annoying. Side note: I have the body type of a gladiator and taking those mirrors off made me cry like a 5 year old girl. I have no idea how an average person does it. I was power clean and pressing the entire Jeep off the ground to get those suckers off.

            Nice, but not perfect

PROS: Keeps me legal; Utilizes stock mirror so you still have a nice big mirror to use; Uses existing holes so no drilling; textured finish on the arm itself is very nice. CONS: Provided hardware began rusting a week after install, REALLY rusting; Driver side mirror won't sit perfectly upright but rather cants away from the vehicle; passenger side is difficult to adjust and you can never get the perfect view since it sits low due to where it's mounted. OVERALL: Glad to have them since they keep me legal, but they leave me wanting a solution that's better executed.

            Not Happy at all.

The concept is great, however the stem of the factory mirror does not seat well on the relocation arm causing the mirror housing to lay to one side making the jeep look like a lazy eared dog. The passenger side angle is off, I have it fully extended and can barely see where i need to see and i sit pretty far back being 6ft, my shorter wife can barely even see the passenger mirror. Also, the adjustment screw for the passenger arm is completely covered in surface rust after 60 days.......

Just the ticket to avoid a ticket.

Removing your doors means no mirror a guaranteed ticket where I live so this solves that issue. I didn’t get much use out of the installation video with reference to removing my existing mirrors from there brackets but I found what I needed on YouTube, They look great but if your existing mirrors won’t release you will need something else because these are just brackets you put your mirrors into.

Works okay but decided not to use it.

The big difference between this relocation kit from others is passenger vision. I allows you to move the passenger mirror further away allowing you to see it from the driver seat. It works but sticks out too far. I removed it because it was ugly. Ill turn my head and look if I need too.
