      Video Review & Installation

I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com. This is my review of the Barricade headlight guard kit fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This kit is the textured black powder coated but it's also available in a gloss black powder coated, and there are other guards available for the other lights on your JK as well. These are good if you're looking to change up the look of the front of your Jeep. I wouldn't, however, look to these for a lot of protection. If you're somebody who wheels on some tight trails and there's a lot of light brush, these will help to redirect some of that brush away from the headlights. However, it's my opinion that if you come into contact with something that's hard enough or strong enough to break a headlight, it's also going to bend this and you're still going to end up with a broken light. As long as you're not looking to these for protection and you want them to just change up the look of your Jeep, they're a pretty good option. I especially like these headlight guards over some of the other ones available on the market because these bolt into place as opposed to being stick on with 3M tape, and these are metal as opposed to some of the other ones that are plastic. As I mentioned, these are metal which I do like better than the plastic versions, however it is a thin metal and it will bend if you put it under too much stress. They are powder coated in black, either this textured black or gloss black. It's your choice. I really like the textured black because I think it goes with a lot of the plastic on the JK. And, a lot of other modifications that you might purchase and bolt onto your Jeep will have the same textured black powder coat. These are designed to fit over your stock headlight housings. For those of you guys who are running a full LED projector headlight, you may have a little bit of trouble getting these bolted on. These'll install onto your JK really easily. They're actually designed to use the factory hardware and the factory screw holes, so you won't have to do any drilling. The first step in the installation process is to remove the grille. You'll do that by removing the six clips across the top of the grille and then just pulling to remove the clips on the bottom. After that, you can pull out the four Torx screws that are holding the factory headlight bezel in place, install your headlight guard and put those screws back in. After that, you just have to reinstall the grille by following the same steps you used to remove it in reverse order. The whole process should take you no more than 10 minutes. The only tool you'll need is a Torx bit screwdriver. Like I said before, I consider these to be more of a styling mod than a protection mod. If you're looking for something that is budget friendly and will definitely change up the look of the front of your Jeep, I think this is a nice option. That's my review of the Barricade headlight guards fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.
