Description
The Apex Chassis 2.5-Ton Steering Kit is a complete replacement steering system designed for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models. It includes black anodized aluminum tie rod and drag link components that double as adjusting sleeves, along with left and right forged steel tie rod and drag link ends for enhanced durability and performance. The kit features SAE 1045 solid forged steel housings, SAE 4140 hot forged chromoly ball studs, and CR rubber accordion boots for long-lasting reliability in demanding off-road conditions. Adjusting rods are crafted from 2" 7075-T6 aluminum, providing strength with some flex, and all rod ends have electrochemical coatings for corrosion resistance.
This steering kit incorporates a patent-pending ProLock Link Connect system to prevent tie rod rotation and includes built-in flopper stoppers for controlled movement. The components are greaseable via pre-threaded, pre-greased Zerk fittings. The kit is compatible with AEV and factory Rubicon wheels without requiring spacers and fits 17" wheels using factory wheel specifications. Grade 8, Class 10.9 hardware with castle nuts and pre-bent Ninja washers are included for secure installation.
Installation requires moderate mechanical skill. If using the flip kit option, a 7/8-inch hole must be drilled through the knuckle drag link mount to accommodate taper sleeves. Installation instructions are supplied, and customer support is available if needed.
This steering kit fits 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models with stock Dana 30/44 axles and is compatible with most common modifications. Use on Dana 60 axles is possible but requires additional modifications and consultation. The kit does not include a steering stabilizer bracket, which must be purchased separately.
Application. This steering kit is specifically engineered to fit 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK models with stock Dana 30/44 axles and typical lifts of up to 3.5 inches without flip kit modifications.
