What triggers the automatic locking part and how does it disengage This is been asked but I don’t see an answer yet other than it’s an automatic

I get the automatic locking function.....Throw it into 4WD and once power is applied to the front axle it is locked. The question I have is when driving in 4WD HI say on snowy roads, does the automatic function disengage above a certain speed, or is the locking always on once you shift to 4WD?

        • The Yukon Gear Grizzly Locker Front Dana 30 - 27 spline 3.73 & Higher is a mechanical locker, and would require it be disengaged when you don't wish to use it. We do not recommend engaging the locker in 4H.

What more do I need if anything?

        • The Yukon Gear Grizzly Locker Front Dana 30 can reuse your existing gears, as long as they are a 3.73 ratio or higher. You will need new bearings and an install kit to install this with the existing or new gears.

            No worries

Had this installed in the front Dana 30 of my Wrangler. It is completely unnoticeable on the street, daily commutes. Off road, locks up and gets me over anything I need to get over. The trails I'm on mostly offer mud/tree limbs as obstacles, not much rock crawling. The shop that installed mine specializes in Yukon products and said this was a great choice for a front axle. I got a great deal from Extreme Terrain and the shop had no problems with me bringing it in for install even if I got it somewhere else. If you're on a budget and can't afford a selectable locker this is a great option.
