Hey, guys. So, today we're checking out the LED Tail Lights in Gloss Black, fitting all 2016 and newer at Toyota Tacomas. So, if you're in search of a style change for the rear end of your Tacoma and you're also looking for better lighting performance out of the back end, then these are going to be a great choice to take a look into. Now, these are gonna be great for somebody who is a fan of that blacked out look and is looking for a more dynamic aesthetic when it comes to their tail light setup. Now, as you can see, this is going to have a gloss black housing, but it's also gonna have a clear lens. And what I do like about that is the fact that you're getting that blacked out look, but you're not taking away from any lighting performance. Now, speaking of that lighting performance, this is gonna be an LED tail light. So, you're gonna get multiple LEDs for the brake light in the center there, we're going to have multiple LEDs on the outside for the turn signal, and you're gonna have this LED strip around the tail light that is going to appear white when the tail light is off, but it's gonna illuminate red for the running light. Now, I personally think that adds a lot of style to this tail light in particular, and is also going to make you more noticeable on the road to other drivers, considering LEDs are going to be a lot brighter and more noticeable in comparison to that factory halogen. Now, speaking of the factory halogen, this will swap over the backup light. So, you still are going to have that performance there. However, it's going to have an updated reflector and overall give you some better lighting performance. And what I really like about these is the fact that this is gonna be a completely plug and play setup. You don't have to worry about any additional wiring, especially with the fact that these are going to be LED in comparison to the factory halogen. So, overall, I think that this is going to be a great set for anybody who's looking for a more dynamic look, but is also looking for some good lighting performance in the meantime with no fuss installed. Now, with all that being said, these are gonna come in at roughly $350. And again, I think that that's a great price point for what you're getting out of this kit, especially with the fact that these are so easy to install, which I'll show you guys in just a minute. Now, other options available on the page are usually just gonna come down to personal preference in design. Some options may have a smoked lens instead of the clear one that we have here or a red lens for a more classic look. And the internals may be a little bit different. So, they may include an LED reverse light instead of the one that we're swapping over here, or they may not include that LED light bar. So, again, it comes down to personal preference. Now, overall, I think if you're looking for something that's gonna add a very sleek look to the back of the truck, something that is a little bit more aggressive than the factory tail light, and you're also looking for some bright LEDs in the meantime, these are gonna be a great option. Now, when it comes to install, I'm gonna give this a very easy one out of three. Like I said, this is completely plug and play and it is just a couple of bolts. Very basic hand tools are needed for this. It's not gonna take you any longer than an hour to get the job done in your driveway. So, speaking of that install, let's jump into that now.The tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench and a 10-millimeter socket and a soft pry tool. So, starting with our tailgate open, our first step is to remove the two 10-millimeter bolts that are holding in the side of our tail light. So, for this, you're gonna need a 10-millimeter socket and an impact wrench or you could also use a standard ratchet. So, on the inside of our tailgate here, we're gonna have a couple of bolts. Now, we're gonna be removing the 10-millimeter bolt up at the top, and we're also going to be removing the one down at the bottom. So, I'm gonna take that 10-millimeter socket, take those out. So, at this point, the tail light is really only held in by a couple of posts and retainer clips on the back. So, I'm gonna take a soft pry tool just to help me pull the light forward, but I'm just gonna wedge this in the side body here and just pop the light out of place. Then we're gonna have three plugs, all we have to do is just depress that clip and pull back on all three. So, after those three plugs are disconnected, we can put the screws up.So, now we're ready to install our new tail light, but we do have to swap over the sockets into this new tail light. Now, we are gonna be fully swapping over our reverse light. So, all we have to do is twist and pull backwards. And then again we are gonna be reusing this light, so we're just going to pop that into the location for our reverse light on our new tail light. So, once that's flush, you can just turn it and it'll set in place. Now, for the two connectors up top, we are going to be taking out the halogen bulb. So, we're gonna take that out and put that to the side. And what's gonna replace that is the connection for our LED light. Now, as you can see, there are wires that are coming out of these. And we need to make sure that these are oriented in the correct position, so the light will turn on. Now, what I'm gonna do to figure that out is just plug this in over on this side where the harness connects to the body harness here. Now, we need to figure out which side or which connector is the ground. So, that's gonna be the white wire with the black trace. So, in order to get power, we need to make sure that the power wire here is connected to the other side. So, if we undo that, we get that orientation. We can put that in the same location that the bulb was in, and then we're gonna put that down on into place, and twist and secure that. Now, we're gonna do the same thing for the one up top. This one is gonna have a couple of extra wires, but it's the same process. So, we take that out. Carefully take out that bulb. We can come over to our main harness and plug that in. That's gonna give us the orientation of what we need to see as far as the wires are concerned. We can line this up making sure that the ground which is gonna be on the left side here is gonna go to the ground, which is the white wire with the black trace again. So, now that we have that orientation, we're gonna pop this back out and connect that there. So, once that's seated, again, you can pop this into the headlight housing, making sure all those tabs line up. Give it a good twist, and we'll be all set to go. So, now we can take our new headlight, plug that into our body harness here and mount it up with our factory hardware. So, at this point, this is just a matter of plugging everything in. So, starting off with our reverse light down at the bottom, make sure that you hear a click, then you can move up to the other connections. And then once those are all clicked in, we can line up these studs with the retainer clips in the body and pop those into place. So, that's going to set into place. Then we're gonna grab our factory hardware and thread that into the side. Once those are threaded in, we're gonna take our 10-millimeter socket and tighten those up. Then we're gonna repeat that process on the other side. So, before I install the other side, I do wanna step down and show you guys these new tail lights next to our factory ones, show you some of the similarities and the differences between the two and why moving over to this new set is going to be a big upgrade for your Tacoma. Now, just as a brief overview of our factory light, we are going to have that standard red lens or that red reflector that you usually see on factory tail lights. We're gonna have a standard clear lens down at the bottom with a reflector down there for the reverse light. And the whole setup is going to come up with halogen bulbs. Now, it's great for a stock look and a stock application as far as visibility on the back end is concerned and staying noticeable on the road. However, if you're looking for a more dynamic look and you're also looking for better lighting performance, an LED tail light like this one is going to do a way better job than the factory one. So, as you can see here, this is gonna have a black ABS housing that is going to give you a more blacked out look or a blacked out aesthetic, a sleeker look to the back end of your truck. We're also gonna have a clear lens. And what I like about that is the fact that you are getting that blacked out look without a smoked lens that's gonna take away from any lighting performance. And then on the inside, we're gonna have multiple LEDs.Now, this is a full LED tail light besides the fact that this is going to swap over the halogen reverse light. So, LEDs inside are gonna act as a daytime running light and your brake light. Now, this is gonna come with a LED light bar or a fiber optic style light bar. I do really like that. It's gonna add a lot of style to the tail light itself and, of course, making you more noticeable while you're driving around on the street. Now, that is going to illuminate with the running light. And then the lights in the middle and even on the side are going to illuminate whenever you hit the brakes. They are going to be incredibly bright considering they are that LED. And then over on the side, we're gonna have our turn signal. Now, overall, these are going to increase that lighting performance on the back end making you more noticeable on the street and add a lot of style to the rear end of your Tacoma all while being plug and play like you just saw. This only requires a couple of plugs. We just have to swap a couple of things over and they're all good to go. So, overall, a very good set and a big upgrade from the factory setup. So, what do you say we get the second one installed and see how they look? So, that is going to wrap it up for my review and install.
