Complete Control for Your Wrangler. The Superchips Flashcal and Amp’D 2.0 Throttle Booster Kit is a specialized kit designed to give you complete control of your Wrangler JL. Specifically, this kit combines a handheld calibration device with a throttle booster to pretty much cover all the functions of your vehicle short of a complete ECU re-tune. With this kit, you’re able to fine-tune your vehicle concerning aftermarket upgrades while maximizing throttle response. The result is a Jeep that drives true.
Throttle Up or Throttle Down. This kit’s throttle booster function is engineered to modify the signal that comes from your throttle pedal to your ECU effectively eliminating its lag time. In doing so, this device gives you a much more responsive throttle. In fact, this device offers throttle boosts from 150% using the “Drive” setting to a mind-blowing 200% when using “Extreme”. This kit even gives you three empty slots for three user-created custom settings. What’s more, this kit doesn’t just open up your throttle, it can also dial it back courtesy of its Economy setting. Specifically, this setting is designed to limit your throttle response to 80% of stock. This setting is ideal when handing off your keys to a valet, or when teaching your kids to drive. You can even engage in this setting when you just want to take a leisurely drive around town.
Specialized Controls. This kit’s calibrator function includes the standard Flashcal handheld wired controller featuring a full-color display and easy-to-use circular cursor control. This familiar design means you don’t have to re-learn how to navigate the device, especially if you’ve previously owned one similar to this. The Amp’D throttle booster on the other hand can be controlled via the included Bluetooth switch or the downloadable smartphone app. The smartphone app in particular makes adjusting the booster’s settings extremely user-friendly.
DTC Read and Clear. One extremely useful calibration feature is its ability to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes. What this means is you can now get rid of any flashing “check engine lights” that may appear out of the blue. Just keep in mind though that a recurring check engine light may mean your Jeep is experiencing a malfunction. If this is the case, you should have this checked as soon as possible.
Total Speedometer Recalibration. Upgrading to larger off-road tires or axles with a higher gear ratio can inadvertently mess up your speedometer reading. This kit addresses this issue by allowing you to recalibrate your speedometer to tires between 26 and 42 inches in diameter. This kit will also recalibrate your speedometer when performing an axle swap. This way, you always get the correct input out of your speedometer.
