Keep Doorless Drives Safe and Legal. When the weather is great and you want to drive your Jeep Wrangler doorless, you need to put on a Rugged Ridge Rectangular Trail Mirror to keep your Jeep safe and legal. What sets it apart from a typical side mirror is its shorter arm. This rectangular trail mirror features an abbreviated arm that’s 3-inch shorter to keep it mounted closer to the Jeep’s body. This way, you keep it out of the way of trail hazards such as low-hanging branches and shrubs. And when you go back on paved roads, the mirror gives you a clear view of what’s behind your Jeep for safe and street-legal driving.

Premium Off-Road Jeep Accessory. This Rugged Ridge Rectangular Trail Mirror is made with durable steel that’s powder-coated for weatherproofing. As a Jeep accessory, you can be sure that Rugged Ridge used only premium materials and advanced manufacturing to produce this trail mirror.

Simplified Installation. The Rugged Ridge Rectangular Trail Mirror utilizes the windshield hinge for a simplified DIY mounting that’s also easily removable. A specially developed jamb nut comes in handy for easy mounting and removal.

Limited 5-Year Warranty. The Rugged Ridge Rectangular Trail Mirror is warranted against material and workmanship issues for 5 years. However, this is upon the condition that the product is installed, used, and maintained properly.

Application. The Rugged Ridge Rectangular Trail Mirror fits all 2018-2020 Jeep Wrangler JL models.

how do these attach, EXACTLY? Looking at the picture it looks like the windshield hinge bolt is involved, how does this work?

        • These install to the windshield hinge. You would simply remove the nut on the hinge and replace it with the included mounting stud. Here is a link to the install guide for further reference. http://www.ruggedridge.com/instructions/11025.26.pdf

Has anyone had issues with these coming off? I have a pair from another brand and one broke off while I was driving this morning. I'd prefer these over door hinge mounted mirrors, but not if they won't stay on. Thanks!

        • If installed correctly these would not come off.

Looking at 2 of these for our 18' JLU . Question I have is the passenger side mirror and the the path it takes. How does this work with the antenna? Looks like the antenna would be clanking on the mirror arm while driving We were planning on changing that (antenna) out as well. Haven't determined which length of Rugged Ridge to go with yet though.

        • This will go behind the antenna, in front of the windshield pillar. We have not experienced any clanging.

Are both sides the same ? Or is it that the driver side is a flat mirror and the passenger side is convex, like it should be ?

        • Both mirrors are the same flat mirror on either side.

            Cheap Components

Mounting screw threads are very thin and brittle. Instantly stripped. Got a replacement, it stripped. Got a replacement set and they stripped. Finally gave up and took the loss. Great concept just poorly executed with cheap equipment.

            Cheap Material

Mounting screw easily stripped, received a replacement and that also stripped easily when barely tightened. Prior, finger tight to a bare turn would not hold the mirror up when driving. Would not purchase again.

            Cheap components

Installing set of mirrors for the first time. Bought the set now I only have one functional. Upon installing the arm one of the lugs stripped. Saved it with my tap and die. I was happy with my self until tried to re install and the side that threads into the hinge just slid in and out as if it had no threads at all.

            Not well engineered

Having read a few of the reviews I was prepared for the installation issues which while disconcerting really were not terrible. What boggles the mind is that whoever was tasked with designing these items clearly never took a ride in a vehicle equipped with them. Maybe it is just my pair but it is astounding to me in a vehicle without a top or doors the whistling sound coming from the junction of the rubber surround and the frame is nearly intolerable. After trying electrical tape I settled on black caulk. While it helps the Dixie tune is still present. Purchase with caution

            Trail Mirrors

Product worked well for the first 2 days and then on of the Mirrors broke while driving at highway speed. The area on the pole where it connects to the vehicle came loose and eventually separated.

            Not even one use

The bolts on both pairs became stripped while screwing on for the first use. I would give this 0 stars if I could, save your money and buy something higher quality.

            Rugged Ridge Rectangular Trail Mirror

They fit exactly how the ad says they do...except for one thing (ignorance on my part perhaps)...I was hoping to leave the mirrors on (doors on or off) and just 'turn' them up to be 'out-of-the-way'. No can do. It's either doors on/ off at home, or your not taking off the doors (and driving legal)...the weather has been a bit fickle this summer, and since it's my daily driver, I can't go to work with wet pants and back...so. I have everything to do it...I just can't here,... well, I can,... but don't want to get wet (soaked)...

Does not hold up, poor quality.

Bought 2. Driver side went on well first time. Passenger side stripped immediately when I put it on and the connecting piece cracked. Have to replace and get new mirrors. Will be buying much better quality next time.

            PotMetal to thin

Got these for a gift from my wife. Put them on and looked great and worked well the first time. that's why I gave them a 2 star rating. The second time i put them on the drivers side would'nt tighten up the same for the passenger side. The pot metal used for the windshield insert is to thin so if you put any type of torque on it it strips out. I liked how it looked and it did function well initially, so if Rugged Ridge used a thicker alloy this would be a 5 star product

The hardware that attaches to the windshield, is cheap and stripped out on the second time used.

Looks good however where the nut screws in got stripped and the mirror spun freely and couldn’t tighten anymore.

            Trail mirrors

Bought 2. Easy to install and I had little to no vibration or movement due to wind. Got up 65 mph with no issues. Did have a slight whistling sound but is barely noticeable. Overall a good replacement with doors off.

            Great new attachment location

Love how they attach to the Jeep, easy to use. The only reason it is not 5 stars is the vibration you get in the mirrors which hurts the clear view at times, not always.

Love the look not the functionality

After one use the thread in the passenger side is stripped now I have to find an insert or rethread and they shake and vibrate bad at speeds of only 30-40 mph

Broke before I could even use it

I installed the first one on the driver side no problem, works great. The second one, upon installation, immediately stripped. I will be asking for a replacement on it. Perhaps it's a good product, I'm hoping I just got a defective one.

            Great design!

Much better than the door hinge option. I wish the hardware was s little more durable, not sure how many seasons the mounting stud will last. If it were available I’d buy a couple extra now. I painted mine red, they look awesome!
