Ryan: These Lange Coyote Mirrors are for those of you that have a 2018 and up and JL that are looking for a set of quick release mirrors, so when you have the doors removed from your Jeep you can stay legal and stay safe. These are going to be a very simple one out of three wrenches for the installation, and we're going to show you how to do it in just a second. So, when you're looking for mirrors that you can use when the doors aren't on your Jeep, you're going to find three main categories. One is going to be a set that will permanently move the mirror from your door to the A-pillar of the Jeep, and that's very nice because then every time you take the door on and off, you don't have to do any sort of second step. There's nothing you have to do with the mirror. It's already moved. The only downside to that is it can be a little bit difficult to see those mirrors, because they are moved forward a little bit, especially that passenger side mirror from the driver's seat. The second type of mirror is the type that just drops right in that top door hinge after the door is already removed from the Jeep. The only downside to that is, as I already mentioned, there's a second step. You take the door off, you put the mirror on, you take the mirror off, you put the door back on again. As long as you're okay with that additional step, those types of mirrors are going to be very easy to install and also very inexpensive. And then the third type of mirror is this type, and this is going to be a quick-release type mirror. The idea here is that you put this small bracket on the Jeep. That lives on the Jeep all the time, but the rest of the mirror is very easy to take on and off of that bracket. So you're still doing two different steps every time you need to take your doors on and off, but in general, these are going to be a little bit easier to install than even those type that drop in that top door hinge. The only downside to these ones, again, if you want to call it that, is the fact that you always have this bracket installed on the Jeep, and aesthetically, some people aren't crazy about that look. So, a lot of different options out there. Completely depends on you and what you like. Any of them is going to give you a mirror so you stay legal and you stay safe when those doors aren't installed on your Jeep. If you are looking for a quick release set of mirrors, I really like this set. Lange makes very high quality stuff. This bracket here, this is a billet aluminum piece. It is black anodized. It's milled and designed to fit exactly onto that JL. That whole cowl, lower A-pillar section has been completely redesigned from generations of the past. So this also had to be completely redesigned, and this just works really, really well. The mirrors here that you get, have a little bit of a convex shape to them, just gives you a little bit more visibility. It's going to be a black plastic housing here. You have a nice high-quality strong clamp, and that's going to clamp right onto this aluminum arm. Again, billet aluminum, black anodized, so it's going to hold up well. It's going to continue to look good, and everything comes on and off of these brackets with just a very easy to use thumbscrew. So overall, pretty nice kit here. This comes in at right around $100, which I think is pretty fair for what you're getting. A lot of anodized aluminum pieces here, which is going to increase the price a little bit. Lange, in general, is known for making high quality stuff, so I think $100 is pretty fair for this product.Like I said before, easy installation. Let's show you how to do it.Man: Tools required for this install, your standard Jeep socket, with your T40 and your T50 bit, 12-millimeter socket, and a 3/8 ratchet. Optional is an impact. All right, to start off, we want to make sure that our door is off, and as you see, we have no mirrors, so we're not legal. Now we're going to take our Jeep ratchet and our 1/4-inch T40 Torx bit right here. Put it in, and take out these two T40 bolts. Now what we're going to do here is actually pop this little cowl cover off and then we're going to slide that mirror mount in between this and that. All right, Lange does supply you with a longer bolt, because we are going to have to put this little block right there. So what we're going to do is pull out on that, put our new long bolt through. Make sure it stays. Then we're going to line that panel back into place. Put that original short one back in its home, tighten that down a little bit. Now we can tighten this back one.And there it is right there. You can see that it doesn't go past this lip, so you can still put your door back on, and you can take that mirror off. You can keep this mount on there as it is, year-round. All right, now we're going to bring in the arm for our mirror. Put that there. I'm going to use the wing nut option. There is a set screw that you can use to make it a little bit more secure, I guess you could say. Now I'm going to tighten that down to make sure it doesn't move too much. All right. Now let's get our mirror on.All right, guys. Now we're going to install our mirror. And we're just going to put the stud right through that hole, and then we're going to use the lock washer and the nut supplied, and we're going to tighten that down. Not too tight, because this is all plastic and you don't want it to break. And again, you can just tighten down that set screw and keep it from moving. So we're going to do all the steps you just saw on the other side, and that'll complete our install. All right, guys. That's going to wrap up my install of these Lange Coyote mirrors for your Jeep JL. And for all things Jeeps, keep it here at extremetrain.com.
