    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from, and this is my review of the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs with two and a half to six inches of lift. There are a couple of different reasons to upgrade your factory track bar to an aftermarket adjustable one. And one of those is the adjustability. Any time you lift your Jeep, your axle is going to be off-center a little bit. And you'll notice that when you turn the wheels lock to lock, they might rub a little bit on the frame of the control arm when you turn them in one direction but not in the other direction. Or you can just visually look at the Jeep and see that the axle has shifted a bit. So an adjustable track bar will allow you to completely re-center the axle. Another reason you might want to upgrade to a stronger track bar, like this forged one, is that in an off-road situation with big tires, you may have already bent your factory track bar. Or you're looking to upgrade to ensure that that isn't a weak point in your suspension system. Finally, when you have big tires and you're driving down the road, hitting bumps in the road, you may have your factory track bar flexing a little bit, which can cause some feedback through the steering wheel and feel a little bit like a wobble. A much stronger forged track bar like this will eliminate that issue completely. The Rough Country Track Bar is much less expensive than some of the other track bars on the market, and it'll fix all of those issues. Like it says right in the name, this is a forged steel track bar, and it's gonna be really strong. It's an inch and a quarter outer diameter, and the thing weighs in at about 16 pounds. Again, this is gonna be really beefy. The adjustment is done through this adjustment sleeve, and this is what's known as double adjustable. So you can install both ends on the Jeep and just turn the sleeve to lengthen or shorten the bar to center your axle. That makes adjusting the bar much easier than ones that are single adjustable, which would require you to disconnect one end of the bar or the other and rotate the entire bar to make that adjustment. Once you have everything adjusted properly and the axle is centered, everything's held in place with these two clamps, so nothing's going to move around, whether on road or off. The track bar has this factory-style bend in it, so it's gonna clear the pumpkin or front differential all the way through the suspension travel. This track bar has Clevite brand rubber bushings on both ends, which are similar to your factory bushings, so they're gonna hold up really well over time. Overall, I'd say this track bar is really well-built. And in my opinion, it's similarly built to some of the track bars on the market that are almost double the cost of this one. Now, I know the reputation that Rough Country has, or at least had, for building products that didn't always hold up as well as they should have over time. Well, recently, Rough Country has made big strides in turning around their quality of their products. And I have to say this thing is really well-built. And the nice thing is that Rough Country does back this up with a lifetime warranty. So if anything were to go wrong, they're gonna replace it for you without questions. Getting this adjustable track bar mounted on your Jeep is pretty simple. In fact, there are only two bolts. Unfortunately, to remove your factory bolts, you'll have to unload the suspension, which does require a little bit of work. First, you'll have to support the Jeep from the frame and remove your lower shock bolts, remove your sway bar bolts, and possibly your brake line brackets. That'll allow you to sag the front axle down and remove the springs. Once the springs are removed and the axle is unloaded, you'll be able to remove the two bolts holding your factory track bar in place and install your new one. From there, you'll put the Jeep back together and put it under its own weight on its tires, then make the adjustments to center the axle completely. The whole process should take right around two hours using regular hand tools. But if you have access to air tools or impact tools, it'll definitely speed the process along. So if you're looking for a really strong adjustable track bar so that you can either re-center your axle or you're looking for something that will not flex or bend on-road or off-road, this is a really solid front adjustable track bar that'll save you some money over the top brands on the market. So that's my review of the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs, with two and a half to six inches of lift that you can find right here at

Made for Lifting. Designed specifically for those who face the trials of lifting their rig, this Forged Adjustable Front Track Bar by Rough Country is made to maintain a centered axle and is fully adjustable while installed. This rugged bar rivals your original equipment, being nearly twice the size as the weak factory track bar. It is made for use with 2.5-6 inches of suspension lift, providing the security and maintaining the stance you need when attacking the roughest off road trails and terrain.

Forged Strength. The Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar is constructed from forged steel for extreme strength and is just what you'll need to hit the trails hard with a lift. Weighing in at 16lbs this heavy duty track bar is twice the weight of your JK's factory equipment. It's ends are equipped with Clevite brand, OEM style rubber bushings for the same reliable handling you'd expect from stock parts.

Installation and Warranty. This bar bolts on painlessly, and once installed can be adjusted on your JK for a simple way to tune into your lift's needs without uninstalling like most adjustable options on today's market. As with all of Rough Country's suspension components, this part is backed by their Lifetime Replacement Warranty, providing you with an unrivaled value and service for years to come.

Application. This Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar is designed for use on 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited models with 2.5-6 inches of suspension lift.

Please Note. Models with a drop pitman arm installed will require the use of a Rough Country Front Track Bar Bracket, part# 1118, to avoid steering interference.

I see this is for a 2.5-4 inch lift just wondering if it would still work on a smaller lift like a 1.5-2.5 leveling coil spring spacers can't get to radical with my jeep (daily driver) But the axil has moved 7/16" and wanting not only to center it but to beaf it up a little.

    • No, the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar is only intended for 2.5-6 in. Lifts. We do have other options that are made for smaller lifts that you can check out under the front track bar section.

Is this compatible with the terraflex 2.5 inch lift kit? It looks similar, and significantly less expensive, while performing the same function.

    • The Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar will work with a Teraflex 2.5" Lift kit.

Will you need to have a alignment done after installation

    • Yes I would recommend an alignment after installing the trackbar.

What is a good starter length for a 3.5 lift

    • When installing the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar we recommend starting right at the middle of the adjustment range, and lengthening or shortening the bar as needed to center the axle.

I have installed a Rubicon 3.5" lift with a high steer kit. Will this track bar work with the high steer kit? I figured the bracket that came with it would align my front axle but it didn't. Looking to line things back up.

    • The Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar is compatible with most high steer kits.

Will this help prevent some shaking or death wobbles?

    • While this may reduce or eliminate your wobble, I highly suggest taking your Jeep to get looked at by a mechanic. Death Wobble can be caused by any number of things, and you could spend a lot of money buying random parts hoping it'll fix the issue, only to find out one bolt may have not been tight enough. A mechanic can trace down your issue.

      Solid, Easy to install.

I have a 2.5" lift, and am not particularly mechanically inclined. This seemed straightforward, and it was. I had no problems following the simple instructions, or installing the new adjustable track bar. My jeep pulled just slightly to the right after hitting a hard bump on a trail. After installing the trackbar, my steering wheel was WAY off center, and after adjusting that I noticed I no longer pull to the right!! I don't know why that would be since, I think all this does is move your axle one side or the other to center it better.. So I don't know if the track bar is responsible for my improved straight-line ride, or if it's a happy coincidence. Either way, it's easy to install, strong, and definitely easy to center your axle. Re-centering my steering wheel took longer than the install!

This track bar is great for the money. Very thick and strong. Half the price of the Teraflex track bar. Added this to my Teraflex 3" lift kit with shocks and the jeep drives great!

      Solid piece of equipment

I bought this for my 3" Rancho lift. I preferred being able to adjust the track bar without removing one end. For that, this fits the bill. The bar is actually beefier than i was expecting as well. I'm very happy with it so far. Only time will tell how well it lasts, so won't give 5 stars, but for the price, you can't go wrong.

      Death Wobble

The fantastic people at Extreme Terrain offer such outstanding service! I started experiencing death wobble and googled a solution for it. Extreme Terrain had the best page diagnosing this very serious issue and gave tips on how to go about correcting it. I used the chat function to consult with Jeep experts at Extreme Terrain and they helped confirm my issue and recommended great parts to buy. It’s so good to have Extreme Terrain around. They add an incredible amount of value to owning a Jeep! I hope everyone uses them as their #1 stop for anything Jeep! Thanks Extreme Terrain! -Christian
