    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs with two and a half to six inches of lift. There are a couple of different reasons to upgrade your factory track bar to an aftermarket adjustable one. And one of those is the adjustability. Any time you lift your Jeep, your axle is going to be off-center a little bit. And you'll notice that when you turn the wheels lock to lock, they might rub a little bit on the frame of the control arm when you turn them in one direction but not in the other direction. Or you can just visually look at the Jeep and see that the axle has shifted a bit. So an adjustable track bar will allow you to completely re-center the axle. Another reason you might want to upgrade to a stronger track bar, like this forged one, is that in an off-road situation with big tires, you may have already bent your factory track bar. Or you're looking to upgrade to ensure that that isn't a weak point in your suspension system. Finally, when you have big tires and you're driving down the road, hitting bumps in the road, you may have your factory track bar flexing a little bit, which can cause some feedback through the steering wheel and feel a little bit like a wobble. A much stronger forged track bar like this will eliminate that issue completely. The Rough Country Track Bar is much less expensive than some of the other track bars on the market, and it'll fix all of those issues. Like it says right in the name, this is a forged steel track bar, and it's gonna be really strong. It's an inch and a quarter outer diameter, and the thing weighs in at about 16 pounds. Again, this is gonna be really beefy. The adjustment is done through this adjustment sleeve, and this is what's known as double adjustable. So you can install both ends on the Jeep and just turn the sleeve to lengthen or shorten the bar to center your axle. That makes adjusting the bar much easier than ones that are single adjustable, which would require you to disconnect one end of the bar or the other and rotate the entire bar to make that adjustment. Once you have everything adjusted properly and the axle is centered, everything's held in place with these two clamps, so nothing's going to move around, whether on road or off. The track bar has this factory-style bend in it, so it's gonna clear the pumpkin or front differential all the way through the suspension travel. This track bar has Clevite brand rubber bushings on both ends, which are similar to your factory bushings, so they're gonna hold up really well over time. Overall, I'd say this track bar is really well-built. And in my opinion, it's similarly built to some of the track bars on the market that are almost double the cost of this one. Now, I know the reputation that Rough Country has, or at least had, for building products that didn't always hold up as well as they should have over time. Well, recently, Rough Country has made big strides in turning around their quality of their products. And I have to say this thing is really well-built. And the nice thing is that Rough Country does back this up with a lifetime warranty. So if anything were to go wrong, they're gonna replace it for you without questions. Getting this adjustable track bar mounted on your Jeep is pretty simple. In fact, there are only two bolts. Unfortunately, to remove your factory bolts, you'll have to unload the suspension, which does require a little bit of work. First, you'll have to support the Jeep from the frame and remove your lower shock bolts, remove your sway bar bolts, and possibly your brake line brackets. That'll allow you to sag the front axle down and remove the springs. Once the springs are removed and the axle is unloaded, you'll be able to remove the two bolts holding your factory track bar in place and install your new one. From there, you'll put the Jeep back together and put it under its own weight on its tires, then make the adjustments to center the axle completely. The whole process should take right around two hours using regular hand tools. But if you have access to air tools or impact tools, it'll definitely speed the process along. So if you're looking for a really strong adjustable track bar so that you can either re-center your axle or you're looking for something that will not flex or bend on-road or off-road, this is a really solid front adjustable track bar that'll save you some money over the top brands on the market. So that's my review of the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs, with two and a half to six inches of lift that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Made for Lifting. Designed specifically for those who face the trials of lifting their rig, this Forged Adjustable Front Track Bar by Rough Country is made to maintain a centered axle and is fully adjustable while installed. This rugged bar rivals your original equipment, being nearly twice the size as the weak factory track bar. It is made for use with 2.5-6 inches of suspension lift, providing the security and maintaining the stance you need when attacking the roughest off road trails and terrain.

Forged Strength. The Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar is constructed from forged steel for extreme strength and is just what you'll need to hit the trails hard with a lift. Weighing in at 16 pounds, this heavy duty track bar is twice the weight of your JK's factory equipment. Its ends are equipped with Clevite brand, OEM style rubber bushings for the same reliable handling you'd expect from stock parts.

Installation and Warranty. This bar bolts on painlessly, and once installed can be adjusted on your JK for a simple way to tune into your lift's needs without uninstalling like most adjustable options on today's market. As with all of Rough Country's suspension components, this part is backed by their Lifetime Replacement Warranty, providing you with an unrivaled value and service for years to come.

Application. This Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar is designed for use on 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited models with 2.5-6 inches of suspension lift.

Please Note. Models with a drop pitman arm installed will require the use of a Rough Country Front Track Bar Bracket, part# 1118 to avoid steering interference.

I see this is for a 2.5-4 inch lift just wondering if it would still work on a smaller lift like a 1.5-2.5 leveling coil spring spacers can't get to radical with my jeep (daily driver) But the axil has moved 7/16" and wanting not only to center it but to beaf it up a little.

    • No, the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar is only intended for 2.5-6 in. Lifts. We do have other options that are made for smaller lifts that you can check out under the front track bar section.

I installed this after installing my lift kit and I centered my axle as it's said to do. Now my steering wheel is completely upside down after centering the axle it wasn't like this before. How do I fix this?

    • The Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar should not have an effect on your steering wheel's position, as this is controlled by the steering box, steering shaft, and drag link. Depending on what caused the steering wheel alignment to change, the repair will vary.

I currently have the 3.5" series II lift from RC with the track bracket and included pitman arm. if I use this track bar do I still need the bracket and dropped pitman arm.

    • Yes, you would still use those even after installing this adjustable track bar.

I have a Rough Country 3.25 lift. The question is can i just run this adjustable track bar with this lift or do i need the Rough Country track bracket as well? note: i am also running the Rough Country daul steering stabilzer.

    • At 3.25" of lift we would suggest running a front adjustable track bar like the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar for 2.5-6 in. Lift instead of a drop bracket for the front and a drop pitman arm.

      fix the death wobble

If anyone has ever gotten the death wobble in your wrangler, you know it's no fun. This track bar fixed the problem immediately and permanently. In addition, it's easy to install. I have very limited auto knowledge for fixing issues myself with vehicles. But I was able to take off the old track bar and put the new one on myself in less than an hour. Great product.

      Solid

Worked out perfect. Solid construction. Since its an adjustable collar instead of the end being adjustable, you can install to however length you need to to put the bolts in and then twist it until the axle is centered. No need to pre adjust or take any measurements up front. Super easy to install.

      Way Better Handling

Installed a 4” Lift on my wife’s jeep around a year ago and have been chasing flighty steering ever since. This by far has been the best upgrade I have done yet. After installing and adjusting to center the steering wheel it drives straight down the road again. Very pleased with this upgrade.

      Unbelievable difference

I installed the RC 3.5" stage 2 kit last year. I kept getting a swaying motion when I hit dips in the road. I installed the RC forged adjustable track arm and removed the relocating hardware they supplied with the lift. Jeep rides very stiff over the dips now, no sway. RC equipment is great.

      The squirrel is gone.

I installed a 2 1/2” Rubicon Express lift on my 2017 Unlimited Rubicon which reused the OEM track bars with a new drop bracket. I knew the diffs would be shifted from the original position about 3/8” but didn’t realize it would affect the handling as much as it did, even after an alignment. It was pretty squirrelly at freeway speeds and on uneven roads. After a lot of research I picked the Rough Country front and rear adjustable track bars. They were very easy to install, only about an hour for both, and I was able to center the diffs perfectly. The handling was so much better and it tracked straight and true. It almost feels like a Ferrari on mountain roads now. Hahaha. E.T. shipping was fast, I got them in a couple days and the price was great. I highly recommend the bars and E.T.

      Solid!

Wasn't sure if replacing the track bar was necessary going to a 3" lift. After going back and forth I decided to go ahead and order. Wow, what a difference. Installation was a breeze (took literally 5 minutes), axle is centered, and this is so much beefier than the OEM unit. Highly recommend.
