    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs with two and a half to six inches of lift. There are a couple of different reasons to upgrade your factory track bar to an aftermarket adjustable one. And one of those is the adjustability. Any time you lift your Jeep, your axle is going to be off-center a little bit. And you'll notice that when you turn the wheels lock to lock, they might rub a little bit on the frame of the control arm when you turn them in one direction but not in the other direction. Or you can just visually look at the Jeep and see that the axle has shifted a bit. So an adjustable track bar will allow you to completely re-center the axle. Another reason you might want to upgrade to a stronger track bar, like this forged one, is that in an off-road situation with big tires, you may have already bent your factory track bar. Or you're looking to upgrade to ensure that that isn't a weak point in your suspension system. Finally, when you have big tires and you're driving down the road, hitting bumps in the road, you may have your factory track bar flexing a little bit, which can cause some feedback through the steering wheel and feel a little bit like a wobble. A much stronger forged track bar like this will eliminate that issue completely. The Rough Country Track Bar is much less expensive than some of the other track bars on the market, and it'll fix all of those issues. Like it says right in the name, this is a forged steel track bar, and it's gonna be really strong. It's an inch and a quarter outer diameter, and the thing weighs in at about 16 pounds. Again, this is gonna be really beefy. The adjustment is done through this adjustment sleeve, and this is what's known as double adjustable. So you can install both ends on the Jeep and just turn the sleeve to lengthen or shorten the bar to center your axle. That makes adjusting the bar much easier than ones that are single adjustable, which would require you to disconnect one end of the bar or the other and rotate the entire bar to make that adjustment. Once you have everything adjusted properly and the axle is centered, everything's held in place with these two clamps, so nothing's going to move around, whether on road or off. The track bar has this factory-style bend in it, so it's gonna clear the pumpkin or front differential all the way through the suspension travel. This track bar has Clevite brand rubber bushings on both ends, which are similar to your factory bushings, so they're gonna hold up really well over time. Overall, I'd say this track bar is really well-built. And in my opinion, it's similarly built to some of the track bars on the market that are almost double the cost of this one. Now, I know the reputation that Rough Country has, or at least had, for building products that didn't always hold up as well as they should have over time. Well, recently, Rough Country has made big strides in turning around their quality of their products. And I have to say this thing is really well-built. And the nice thing is that Rough Country does back this up with a lifetime warranty. So if anything were to go wrong, they're gonna replace it for you without questions. Getting this adjustable track bar mounted on your Jeep is pretty simple. In fact, there are only two bolts. Unfortunately, to remove your factory bolts, you'll have to unload the suspension, which does require a little bit of work. First, you'll have to support the Jeep from the frame and remove your lower shock bolts, remove your sway bar bolts, and possibly your brake line brackets. That'll allow you to sag the front axle down and remove the springs. Once the springs are removed and the axle is unloaded, you'll be able to remove the two bolts holding your factory track bar in place and install your new one. From there, you'll put the Jeep back together and put it under its own weight on its tires, then make the adjustments to center the axle completely. The whole process should take right around two hours using regular hand tools. But if you have access to air tools or impact tools, it'll definitely speed the process along. So if you're looking for a really strong adjustable track bar so that you can either re-center your axle or you're looking for something that will not flex or bend on-road or off-road, this is a really solid front adjustable track bar that'll save you some money over the top brands on the market. So that's my review of the Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs, with two and a half to six inches of lift that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Made for Lifting. Designed specifically for those who face the trials of lifting their rig, this Forged Adjustable Front Track Bar by Rough Country is made to maintain a centered axle and is fully adjustable while installed. This rugged bar rivals your original equipment, being nearly twice the size as the weak factory track bar. It is made for use with 2.5-6 inches of suspension lift, providing the security and maintaining the stance you need when attacking the roughest off road trails and terrain.

Forged Strength. The Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar is constructed from forged steel for extreme strength and is just what you'll need to hit the trails hard with a lift. Weighing in at 16 pounds, this heavy duty track bar is twice the weight of your JK's factory equipment. Its ends are equipped with Clevite brand, OEM style rubber bushings for the same reliable handling you'd expect from stock parts.

Installation and Warranty. This bar bolts on painlessly, and once installed can be adjusted on your JK for a simple way to tune into your lift's needs without uninstalling like most adjustable options on today's market. As with all of Rough Country's suspension components, this part is backed by their Lifetime Replacement Warranty, providing you with an unrivaled value and service for years to come.

Application. This Rough Country Forged Front Adjustable Track Bar is designed for use on 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited models with 2.5-6 inches of suspension lift.

Please Note. Models with a drop pitman arm installed will require the use of a Rough Country Front Track Bar Bracket, part# 1118 to avoid steering interference.

            So far so good

I wanted to wait until I had this on my jeep for awhile. This alone seems to have solved my death wobble issue, may not work for everyone, but it definitely helped me out. Built well and much better than stock. Not sure why the person didn't replace this when they put the lift on my jeep. Longest part of this install was prying open the inserts on the jeep where the old one was bolted on. Otherwise, this went super smooth!! Word of advice, check to make sure your frame is squared after putting this on. It's not the products fault; pretty sure it wasn't centered when whomever put the lift on the jeep.

Rough Country Front Adjustable Track Bars

Installed front and rear RC track bars fairly quickly and easily. Fixed my 1.5" axle offset as well as provided a far beefier suspension component versus factory for a reasonable price. Definitely advise upgrading track bar/ control arm bolts while you're down there. Thanks Extreme Terrain!

So big top mounted steering stabilizer did not fit

This bar is twice as big as the stock track bar, for sure a huge improvement. Prior to installation of this adjustable track bar I had installed a top mounted steering stabilizer using a bracket that attached close to the track bar at the axle. This forged track bar is so beefy and thick, the steering stabilizer could not attach to the mounting bracket and I had to attach the steering stabilizer to the stock mounting bracket. Not a big deal though, I'd rather have a stronger track bar and forgo the new mounting point for the stabilizer. I installed a 2.5" lift kit and this track bar allowed me to center the axle.

Front Track Bar. It does it's job.

Installed this beefier better front track bar. Tightened up the feeling in the front suspension quite a bit. Not so much roll and wobble now. If you are reading and thinking about going with the Rough Country cheap lift, do yourself a favor and spend the extra to get this adjustable track bar (and one for the rear) along with a top mount drag link and either adjustable control arms or control arm relocation brackets. I bought my jeep with the Rough Country 4" lift already on it and have learned a lot about what is needed on top of that basic lift to make the Jeep drive better.
