Why would these brackets not fit on a 2005 Wrangler? What's the big differences?

  • The Rough Trail Mirror Relocation Brackets will not fit the OEM mirrors for 2003-2006 Wranglers. The brackets themselves will physically fit the vehicle.

    So-So results

They Fit perfect- easy to install. And if you are planning on using these with no doors or maybe half doors you're good to go. But I was planning on leaving the mirrors mounted on the relocation bracket and switching between full doors/half doors/ and no doors. Not great for that- the door frame on the full door(which is what I typically run) blocks the mirror and when you open the door it using the mirror as a stopper. These work. Just not well for my application.

    Not exact fit

The bracket bolted right up to the cowling with a great fit. Went to bolt the mirrors on the bracket and didn't work. The mirrors are factory and are break away style. There is a rib on the bolt shoulder that fits into a detent on the factory bracket that the new brackets don't have. Had to fabricate a spacer washer with a detent to make them work.

    Yep they work, but....

Bought these as a lowbuck option for running no doors. And for that they are great, very easy install. The problem is...(1) with the doors/skins back on you can't see out of the rightside mirror. (2) if you leave the mirror in the brackets and put the doors back on, when you open the door they will strike the mirrors when swung open.

    Mirror brackets

With the doors on the door hits it and moves the mirror. Couldn't see the passger mirror with door on . Couldn't open doors all the way. There good for doors off.

    Gets the job done.

Mounts your stock mirrors and prevents all the problems of hinge mounted mirrors. Only problem is that passenger mirror is harder to see when doors are on.

    Good quality. Does the job.

The brackets are made well and install was easy. However, removing the factory Torx bolts is the hard part. The trick is to use a heat gun on the bolts and an impact driver. The one negative drawback is that the passenger side mirror is relocated forward so that the view to it is obscured by the dash/windshield. Not much can be seen through the passenger mirror as a result.

Nice but can be hard to see.

The relocation brackets are very nice and everything mount up correctly but with the doors on the mirror on the paasager side is unuseable because you can't see it at all. With the doors off everything is good to see the road behind. It would be nice if there were longer brackets for the mirrors to mount to. I gave high rating because they are well made.

    They work BUT ?

Once installed it didn’t take long to realize you can not see all the passenger side mirror ? Plus relocate brackets don’t accommodate the stock tension springs and locking numbs that are cast into the mirror stems ?

    They do the job

Installation was a piece of cake, though I would encourage purchasing new flat-head screws/bolts instead of using the the existing ones. The only "issue" is that I can barely see the passenger mirror if I put the full hard doors on. The mirror just doesn't stick out far enough. It's not a huge deal, though, since I bought these so that I would still have mirrors when running with the doors off.

    Great Replacement Mirror

Wanted to take off my door for the summer, but didn’t want to have to buy new mirrors. Ordered these Mirror Relocation Brackets and was surprised how beefy they are. Moved my factory mirrors to theses and now I can throw my door on if I know it may rain and pull them off when it’s not. Installed in 5 mins and they work great.
