This RedRock 4x4 48-inch Extreme Recovery Jack is for those of you with an '87 and up Wrangler, that are looking for a farm-style jack for those really difficult off-road recoveries or possibly to do a little bit of winching if you get yourself into a bind where you need such a thing. Now, these are available in both red and black. Of course, I have the red on the table here with me. And the black, the only difference is the color. It's going to function exactly the same. And there are some other sizes of these available as well if you're looking for something that's a little bit smaller. Now, these jacks are going to be a little bit controversial in the off-road space. There are definitely some uses for them off-road. However, these are going to be a dangerous piece of equipment. This is not something that you're going to wanna just use to change your tires in your driveway. Even a lot of off-road recovery situations can be done a lot more safely with a scissor jack or a bottle jack or some other type of lifting mechanism because these can be very, very unstable. All that being said, there are some situations when you're off-road that a farm-style jack like this is going to be the best recovery solution. And in that case, you're going to be glad you have this. You just have to be very careful while using it. All of these jacks are going to be built very similarly. These are going to be cast iron and steel. Again, this one is red. They also have them in black. That's really the only difference between the two, and a couple of different heights are available. This is the 48-inch version that can lift 7,000 pounds. There are some smaller ones that are a little bit easier to store if you're interested in those instead. Now with this jack, because they can be a little bit dangerous to use, you do wanna be very careful. I would definitely recommend doing some research before you actually install this on your jeep. Have it with you off-road so when you do use it, you know how to use it safely and you know how to use it properly. There really isn't an installation for this jack. You do wanna be able to store it somewhere in your vehicle that it is very well held down. There are some interior mounts, some exterior mounts. You can put this in a lot of different locations. If you are gonna put it outside, make sure you grease up the mechanism very, very well. It will pay dividends in the end. The weather can really beat on these. And when you do go to use, you want to make sure everything moves nice and freely. If you are going to install it on the inside of the jeep, again, make sure this thing is strapped down and doesn't move. These are very heavy and if you get into an accident or a roll over, a flop situation off-road, you don't want this thing moving around and flying around on the interior of your jeep. It can definitely do some damage or cause some injury. This recovery jack is going to run you $80 which is right around the same price as a lot of the other ones on the market. I do think this one's pretty well-built. I think you are getting a good bit of value at that $80 price point. Like with any other tool, if you take care of it, it will take care of you. So if you're looking for a farm-style recovery jack for your Wrangler, I definitely recommend taking a look at this one from RedRock 4x4 that you can find right here at

High Lift Jack Spare Tire Mount. A High Lift Jack is the ultimate off-road recovery tool, but it can be difficult to stow. That's why RedRock 4x4 offers a High Lift Jack Spare Tire Mount Bracket. The RedRock 4x4 Spare Tire Bracket is engineered to safely and securely attach your high lift jack to your spare tire mount without sacrificing any interior passenger space.

Heavy Duty Construction. Manufactured from heavy duty stainless steel for superior strength, this RedRock 4x4 High Lift Jack Spare Tire Mount features a natural finish for classic good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance.

Easy, Bolt-on Installation. The RedRock 4x4 Spare Tire Jack Mount is engineered to be a direct bolt-on using just basic hand tools, so there is no drilling or cutting required for a clean straight forward installation.

Application. The RedRock 4x4 High Lift Jack Spare Tire Mount is designed to fit all 1987-2018 Jeep Wranglers, including YJ, TJ and JK models. May not fit some aftermarket wheel applications with positive offset; Not recommended for stock wheel  applications.

Will this work with the original spare tire and spare tire mount? Everything sounds good about this mount except the the final blurb in the description - Not recommended for stock wheel applications. Could you explain this?

    • This will work with the original spare tire mount, but due to the common factory wheel offset and backspacing measurements, this mount will likely meet interference with a stock wheel and tire package.

My spare tire is a 35 x 12.50 R15 Lexani Mud Beast will the provide enough clearance to mount a jack o have read some reviews that say it won't fit anything larger than a 10 inch wheel?

    • The RedRock 4x4 Extreme Recovery Jack Spare Tire Mount works with most aftermarket wheels, but there can be a problem if your wheels have a positive offset.Tire size should not effect fitment of the tire mount.

Was wondering if you know if they make any kind of jack sleeve that you can still use while using this mount since the mount mechanism is right in the middle

    • We are not aware of any sleeves that would be compatible with this jack mount.

      Works. But....

Easy install. I have aftermarket rims so no problem there. However the pins that are supposed to go through the jack don't line up with the holes on the jack. We had to forcefully spread them but only just a little. They were just a hair off. Tighten the bracket down and voila you have your jack secure. I don't have an aftermarket bumper and tire carrier yet so the jack adds a bit of weight to the tailgate. I'm sure it will eventually bend the gate but for now it works. Hadn't loosened up over these past couple of weeks. Don't be afraid to snug it up real good against the spare tire. It'll handle it.

Will not fit OEM Jeep Goodyear tire

I tried mounting the wheel backwards, etc. The diameter of this piece is too large for the OEM tire too. If someone figured out how to pair the two, please post a pic. I don't see a way.

It's very nice. And works ok

It works but I had to mod it. So the jack didn't rub my spare. But other than that it's a great product.

      Spare Tire Jack Mount

Fits on the back as designed, however unless the center nut is removed the tire rim does not slide onto the mount. Once mounted the jack can twist in the mount. The high Lift jacks are a pain to mount upside down as the picture depicts. I will have to see how it holds up on the trail this weekend. Not to sure this is a good idea.

Great product with one minor flaw

This thing works and looks great on my tj with 8 hole steel wheels. Only complaint is that there doesn't appear to be any way to hold the jack away from the tire. Instead it holds by squeezing the jack against the sidewall of my spare.

Product is well made, but did not work for me. Will not work with aftermarket rim that is 10 wide or wider. The adjustment is not made to extend past 10 inch width.

      Portable jack mount

Light weight, well built, effectively affordable mount. For the newbie or old pro mount is easy to use, holds jack solid and have very little if any ratteling from the jack, if you haven't splurged on a rear bumper with all the extras this mount is the way to go.

      Poor design

While I like the idea, and as advertised it will not fit onto a wheel that has a stock hub hole in the center without cutting a notch out for there main bolt to fit through. ( I mean a notch has to cut into your spare wheel) Also it ships without any directions. For the person that is not familiar with mechanics it's a bust. Yes I have cut the wheel to allow the thing to fit.( only because it's a spare tire wheel) otherwise your screwed...

I like it but I wish it had more than the three holes to mount it with. That only gives you one option depending on how the spare is mounted. Would be nice to have ability to mount any direction regardless of tire mount.(2 holes up or 1)

      Spare tire mount

I only have it 3 stars for the fact that it didn't mention this works best with aftermarket wheels! It's a simple install but some sort of instructions would be nice or at least a recommendation to use with aftermarket wheels. I gave this to my neighbor and it fit like a champ!! Great look to her rig !!

It's a lil work to get it to fit the rim but after that this product works great. A lil rattle from the jack itself but it's off my hood and out of the way.

      Mixed feelings……..

I opted to try this out for a new look. So far I have kind of mixed feelings about it as it has some really good design aspects but some that need improvement. I really liked the removable center pin used to unscrew the jack as it helps to add a little more security to the jack. The aspect I didn't like was that this mount is designed to be limited to a vertical mount style. There are some allen head screws that can be removed to turn the mount horizontal but the screw hole pattern used is not a complete circle so in turning it horizontal one screw has to be left out. I'd love to see them addition of that last screw hole and screw to allow for more mounting options. Lastly the semi-circular indent in the mounting bracket doesn't sen to have enough spacing to properly fit the handle for the jack, or allow enough space to use the "Handle Keeper" if you have or have ordered one. I'm going to keep it on for a little while to see how I like it but my first impression is simply that its a good start to a possibly great mounting option.

      It works

Did not meet my expectations. Rattles a lot on back roads. Was hoping for something more rigid. I don't know how long it will hold up. It is quite convenient though. Easily accessible.
