      Video Review & Installation

Hi, guys. So today we're checking out the Beast Grille in a Matte Black Finish, fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. So this option is going to be one of your most affordable and one of the easiest ways to completely switch up the look of the front-end of your JK. Now, as you can tell, this is going to completely switch up the styling, adding a more aggressive and a dynamic look to the front-end of the Jeep. Now, this will really be for somebody who's a fan of that angry eye style. As you can tell, this has that brow up at the top, and there's little details in the design, which I particularly like. It adds a little bit of extra style to the grille itself. Now, this is also gonna be for somebody who is a fan of these slotted design. As you can see in the front, this is going to keep the slots very similar to the factory grille. So if you're not necessarily a fan of a grille that completely switches that up in the middle, this is gonna be a great choice. Not to mention, this is also going to have some inserts integrated into the grille. So this will add a little bit of functionality by adding some protection to all of those components that are sitting behind the grille, which is very important. Not to mention, you're also just getting that eagle eye look or the teardrop look over on the side and it's going to have a factory-style fit and really come with everything that you need in order to install it. Not to mention, this is also going to be in a matte black finish, so you can keep it this finished if you applied for a little bit of contrast to your Jeep or you can paint it to whatever color scheme or your factory color code. So it does give you some options there to customize the grille and customize the look of your Jeep. Now, with that being said, this is, again, going to be one of the more affordable choices for a grille coming in at roughly $100. Now, I personally think that that's a great price point for what you're getting, the fit is good, and again, it comes with everything that you need. Now, in comparison to some of their choices, some more expensive options may have a little bit more going on. As far as the construction is concerned, they may take out the slotted design here and add a mesh screen. They may have some marker lights or LED lights included in the grille itself, or it just may be a little bit busier around the center of the grille instead of the more simplistic slotted design that we have here. Now, again, if you're a fan of the slotted design, if you're looking for that angry eye look and you're looking for one of the most affordable grilles on the page to switch up the look of your JK, this is definitely going to be it. When it comes to install, I'm gonna give this a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. This is gonna take you no longer than an hour to get the job done with some very basic hand tools. So speaking of that install, let's jumping into that now.Tools that I used for my install were a panel removal tool and a flathead screwdriver. So the first step to taking off our grille is to remove the six pop clips up top. Now, I'm gonna use a clip removal tool. You could also use a flathead screwdriver. I just recommend to be a little bit careful with a flathead screwdriver so you don't mess up the paint. But we can go ahead and take off so we can remove our grille. Then we can disconnect our wiring harness for our turn signals. So we just have to push down on that clip and go back. We can do the same thing on the other side. So after everything is unplugged and the clips are out, what we can do is just give our grille a good tug backwards and it will come right out. So as you can see, one of our retainer clips is still stuck in there. We do need to remove that to make sure that our new ones will fit in properly. So I just like to take a screwdriver and compress that, and it should pop right now. So now that we have the grille off, we do need to swap over our turn signals into our new grille. So I'm gonna take a flathead screwdriver and we're gonna pop those out of place. They're only held in by two tabs, but it is a little bit helpful to have a flat head on hand. So what we're gonna do is just push in these tabs and push down on our fog light or our turn signal because it's gonna push right out of the front of our grille. So if you press in this tab, kind of push down. Do the same thing for the other one. It'll brush right out the front. So before we hop into the install, I do wanna stop down and tell you guys a little bit more about this new grille, some of the benefits that you're gonna receive from this option over the factory one, and some of the similarities and differences between the two. Now, just starting off with a brief overview of our factory grille, this is gonna be made out of a plastic material. It is a little bit flexible and flimsy. Now, this is also going to have those iconic seven slots, Jeep logo up in the top. And since this is the Sahara grille, this is going to have the factory inserts. Now, moving over to our new option, we're not really getting any of that. We still are going to have some slotting in the middle, which is going to give it a more factory style look, however, everything else is not going to really comply with the factory aesthetic. Now, this is going to have a very angular look to it. It's going to add some aggressive looks to the front-end of the Jeep. This is going to have that angry eyebrow up at the top. So if you are a fan of that angry eye look, that more aggressive and dynamic look, this is definitely going to be a good choice. And like I said, we are getting that slotting in the middle, but on the outside, we're going to have a little bit more of an angular one kind of shaped like a tooth, as it says in the name, this is the beast grille. So that is going to stick to the name there. Now, what I do really like about this option is the fact that this is going to have an insert in each of the slots that's gonna provide a little bit of protection to all the components behind the grille, like the radiator and the AC condenser that, of course, you get what you want protected. And I also like this Eagle eye or this teardrop look. That's just, again, going to help out with the styling. Now, this is also gonna be made out of an ABS plastic material, so it will be a little bit more rigid, a little bit more durable, and it is going to be paintable. So you can keep it this matte black option that you see here or you can paint it to any existing color scheme or to the factory paint code as we see on our factory grille there. But, overall, this is going to switch up with styling and it is going to allow a lot of airflow in the front because of that slot of design, but will be functional as well. Not to mention, this is going to come with the factory mounts for either your factory turn signals or any aftermarket turn signals and all the hardware that you need in order to install this, including the weatherstripping, new retainer clips, and new pop clips up to the top, so what do you say we prep our grille and get it installed on our JK?So our first step is going to be putting on our weatherstripping. So I'm gonna take off this backing on our 3M tape here and we're gonna line this up with the top, kind of center it. Making sure that it's even, and once it is, we can give a good press on that 3M. Now, once this is installed in the Jeep and the hood is down, this is gonna help out the adhesion process and make it stick a little bit better because of that pressure on the hood or from the hood, should I say. Now, once that's on, we can install our turn signals. So these are just gonna press in. As you can see, there's two slots for our tabs here. Once you get those lines up and lined up, you just have to press them in. You should hear a click. So now we can install our retainer clips. These are gonna go on each of the posts. We're gonna have six of them. And all we really have to do is just push them onto each of the posts. You're gonna have four down at the bottom and one above each of the turn signals. If you have to, you can take a flathead and kind of reposition them. Now, after our grille is prepped, we can install it on our Jeep. What we can do now is line up our mounting points with those retainer clips that we just installed on our radiator support and on the tabs underneath our headlights. We can give it a good press and then once those are in, we can take our provided pop clips and install them on the top. Sometimes they don't wanna go down, so you should get most of them in, and then you can go back. What we can do now is plug in our turn signals. You can do the same thing on the other side. Then we can close up our hood and we'll be all set to go.So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install.
